I signed because it was genocide by the the British establishment, just as it manifested well into the 20th century across the globe. Propaganda by those who were in power, in those times and after, further developed into the history books written by the elite who came after. It only takes 3 generations before something because a common practice, taken on its word. Blight of potatoes caused the famine. Cow milk is good for human consumption. Fluoride cleans your teeth. It's all nonsense and regurgitated propaganda, and it still continues to this day.

I always was told that we in Ireland were the bread basket for England and the demand for diverting the outflow of food was only from those without a voice. The British policy was clearly one that can only be considered as genocide. We had the livestock and crops but our masters demands never changed. It's a pain we should never forget.

Being only a second Generation American of Irish heritage I heard plenty of stories from great grandparents and grandparents passed down of the famine, I remember somewhere hearing my Great Grandmother saying something about eating grass or being given soup made from grass as a child, all this while exports were booming ! I don't think anybody alive today can grasp the level of sadism that the british stooped to in this situation and it should be recognized for what it was Genocide.

My heart aches for my Cork ancestors and their pain and suffering...and for all of Ireland during these dark years.
It is devastating to realize how a nation of strength can swallow up smaller countries and spit them out in an attempt to expand their borders.
It is surely no wonder that border countries can not Keep Calm!!
