Honestly, how ignorant can someone be! When is this crap going to stop? Killing a dog just because they are a certain breed. WTF!!! Enough is enough of this bullshit!!! Leave the dog alone and go after drug dealers, rapist, murderers, something worth going after. Have you people nothing else to do? You can't be that dumb, can you? You better not touch that dog you worthless excuse for a human being!!!

This man and his daughter deserves to be united with their dog. Should the dog be put to sleep imagine how hard it would be for the child when she grows up and finds out the reason for her beloved pet's demise. That kind of guilt can damage a young mind.

I have worked with pit bull mixes. They are very sweet. Even to all sizes of breeds.

This is disgraceful.
This is would saying don't adopt a child because of its back ground.

The difference is, it is a dog who has already got a home. They already know dogs only act out because of their owners behaviour. I highly you suggest you get Ceasar Millan involved! If he can get red zone dogs rehabilitated and allowed back into society im sure he can prove that a dog who has a caring and loving nature is no threat at all!!

A dog should be judged on their personality and past history not on their breed. Please send this doggy home!!

to help Teddy's owner to get him back. It is absolutely ludicrous that the courts can take away someone's pet because they think he is a danger to a young child. UNBELIEVABLE. Are we living under a dictatorship????

Coz a family member ie Teddy cannot be abducted forcibly away from his family merely on the basis of irrelevant belief that he is a threat to humans or that child.. when human pose such threat, I don't even know if law takes any action.. Infact, when a human commits as heinous crime as rape n murder, he is still given a chance to fight his case despite knowing the fact that the crime has been committed.. And here, in Teddy's context, he has not even committed any crime and more importantly he doesn't even know what the word 'crime' is. It's the very duty of we human race that when we make law for animals, law must be for their protection and not destruction. And what I am seeing is that entire human race, except for few ie all animal lovers, is demolishing animals existence in the form of destroying their habitats, mass culling, eating, wearing, torturing, raping, utilising in most sick activities and what not. It's high time we understand that human race was brought into existence for the protection of nature alongwith it's constituents and not for demolishing it shamelessly.
Be kind enough to understand and self-realize the humanity and do the needful.
Please spare these beautiful animals and let them live in peace.

We wouldn't put humans down for being a certain breed so why do it to dogs? everybody and every animal is different and if this animal has never done anything wrong then it shouldn't be put down.

We wouldn't put a smack head down because we know he's going to steal off an old lady before he's even committed the crime so why are we putting a dog down just because of its breed? What happened to innocent until proven guilty!!!

BSL is a ridiculous law that causes the death of many innocent dogs every year because of a tape measure.
You can clearly see Teddy isn't a pit bull. Free Teddy x

Teddy is a well treated family dog. I'm pretty sure the owners are aware any breed of dog left with a child is a risk. Adhere to the muzzle rule and let him live

Too cruel to take a gentle dog from a child in the name of protecting her. Cruel to the family as it is unspeakably cruel to the dog. I'm a liberal person to be living in the rural South of the U.S., and even I find this to be an unspeakable violation of individual freedoms. Also, you don't take a life for something it might do. At the very least, re-home the dog.

surely the police cannot take a. Dog without proof it is nasty and has actually attacked somebody ? Innocent till proven guilty is still the law is it not therefor if nothing happened to prove the dog was nasty and likely to attack cannot some legal argument or policy stop this happening or st least give a stay of pts till legal argument can be produced before a judge or something it seems very unfair and illegal that they took him

from the pictures I can tell he's not an American Bulldog. However, regardless of breed, he should not have a death sentence. Even if he is proven to have pitbull in him via a dna test, which I strongly suggest you make the court carry out if not already done, it still should not be an excuse to put him to sleep. Small breeds are more likely to attack a child than a large breed. But if he's been brought up with a young child since a puppy then he's not likely to randomly attack a pack member. It's just blind ignorance on judge's side!

It is truly despicable and revolting that energy, resources and money is utilized towards (non-)cases like this, when there are so many actual cases needing attention every single day.

Each dog has a personality and should not be put down just because he belongs to a breed that is thought to be dangerous. If he has never harmed anyone I see no reason why he should suffer.
I hope he is returned to his owner who seems to love him very much.
