Poor fencing issues located in Santa Rita Ranch Neighboorhood

This is a huge concern to me. The construction of these fences was poor to start with. This should not fall on the homeowner to repair/replace due to unsatisfactory workmanship and materials.

Our fence is rotting also.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-16)

#4

The fence quality is horrible.

My fence is falling apart.

I feel that the above statements and claims made my the Home owners of SSR are accurate and true. My fence is one of the many that have only been up less than two years and are weak and rotted in some areas.

Fence keeps falling. Replacing post after post.... Neighbor has a large dog too that we are concerned about breaking through. We have a kid and a dog as well. Worst fencing job I have ever seen....

The fencing in Santa Rita ranch is cheap and terrible

(Liberty hill, 2019-12-16)

#20

My fence is a piece of junk! I complained the first day I moved in, and after that. Poor workmanship and the worst fencing material I have ever seen.

(LIBERTY HILL, 2019-12-16)

We’ve lived here since the end of August and our fence is already rotting and has broken posts.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-16)

#25

Boards are coming loose. Regular maintenance is important as a homeowner, but after only 2 years with a new construction, that's profoundly unacceptable.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-16)

#26

Our fence started falling apart 6 months after we moved in. it's poor quality for how much money they are charging for these over priced homes. Ridiculous!

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-16)

#27

Gates do. It close properly and are poorly built. We have several fence post broken

(Liberty hill, 2019-12-17)

#28

I have also replace a bunch of my fence not even 2 years after the build.

(liberty hill, 2019-12-17)

My fence was done very substandard and I had to have them come out and fix it and it still sucks. I work my butt off to afford this house and it’s been very substandard in many places throughout the yard, house and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better with the Developer not having higher standards. It’s a travesty for many of hard working people.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

#38

I’m signing because I’ve had nothing but trouble with the fence on the side a Perry home was built, but they won’t take responsibility!

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

#40

My bottom part of fence broke the week I moved in when the wind blew hard in April!!! It looks like it’s in bad shape also

(Liberty hill, 2019-12-17)

#42

I’m signing because my fence is falling apart

(Liberty hill, 2019-12-17)

#48

I paid good money for our home and it is literally rotting and falling apart around us only a year and a half in. Not just the fence but the actual house. Black mould problem

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

#49

This is also very dangerous. There have been multiple times where I am walking with my 4 mo old and dog and dogs in their backyards are almost busting through the gates. If one was to actually get loose you don’t know what will happen and I don’t know that dogs temperament. There are holes, loose boards etc.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

#50

My fence, and neighbors fences are falling apart from subpar building.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

#51

Fencing was arguably factored into our build price and I would venture to guess that the cost factored was a great deal more than the actual cost.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

The low quality of fencing in SRR is dangerous and the quality is that of a crappy neighborhood- not the supposedly best. The planks are flimsy and easily broken. Fences less than a year are bowing and falling.

Dogs are easily breaking pickets and getting out. It is literally not safe to walk our dogs in the neighborhood.

The developer should insist new homes be built with a better quality picket and more sound footings. And some remedy for existing crappy fences should be considered.

I am going on living here 3 years and I have already had to replace numerous fence posts, and one of my gates fell off, because the post rotted out and the screws would no longer hold the weight of the gate. This is ridiculous and I agree that fences should last 10+ years and the only maintenance in those years should be to possibly re-stain the fence. Having fences/gates fall apart within 3 years is outrageous and the builders should definitely be held liable for such poor workmanship and materials on these fences.

(Liberty hill, 2019-12-17)

#56

Fence is in poor shape after a couple of years

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

#57

I have lived in my new home for three weeks. We are on a corner lot and have already noticed several boards that aren’t nailed in, are warped, and/or are rotting from the sprinklers.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

#59

The fences are poorly constructed. My gate hinges were actually pulling away from fence and making it so the gate would not stay closed. There are gaps along the bottom that are big enough for our dog to get under. We have to block them with rocks or bricks.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-17)

#63

I'm signing because my fence is old and rotting.

(Liberty Hill, TX, 2019-12-17)

#65

My fence has issues as well.

(Liberty hill, 2019-12-18)

#67

Poor quality fencing

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-18)

#74

These fences are of such poor quality that a simple windy or rainy day combined with a hot day can topple them over. This is ridiculous considering what we are paying for these homes. We should be supplied with appropriate fences that will stand up to the normal weather conditions of this area.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-19)

#79

I'm signing because I have the same issue with the fence

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-19)

#82

I have had two sections blow down in six months. I fixed them though. It cost me about $8. It won’t last though the boards they put up are rotted and weak. They should be fixed by the builders.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-20)

#87

Our fence has been awful since we moved in. We have had to many repairs in our short 3 years here.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-20)

#88

These fences were shabbily manufactured. They are not holding up and therefore can be considered to have both manufacturing and design defects.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-20)

#89

Less than 2 weeks in and my gate is broken.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-20)

#93

I agree, we have lived in our home for 3.5 years and I have spent way too much money and time fixing the fence

(Liberty hill, 2019-12-21)

#94

We have had to fix our fence twice already

(Liberty hill, 2019-12-21)

#96

I have had multiple fence issues since we moved in 2 years ago, very poor material and poorly made/constructed.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-21)

#100

Our home is less than one year and the fence already shows signs of wear. Some boards have broke for no apparent reason. The caliber of the homes and the fence do not match.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-22)

#101

Boards are below pallet grade wood

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-22)

#102

My fence is falling down and it is almost three years old. When it was installed I called numerous times for repairs and they would send someone to put a board or two up. This is outrageous.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-23)

#106

I’m signing this petition because my fence is also worn and cane loose a couple places within three years.

(Liberty Hill, 2019-12-30)

#108

The fence quality in SRR has been an issue since we moved in over 5 years ago. While we have been lucky that no posts have broken, many boards are rotting and/or falling apart. You would think the developer and builders would want this external structure to look nice to show off our neighborhood. The residence fences should be at least the same quality as the main road wood fences.

(Liberty Hill, 2020-01-02)

#109

Fence quality is poor been here 9 months already have issues

(Liberty Hill, 2020-02-26)

#112

My fence is not up to standard.

(Liberty Hill, 2020-03-05)

#114

The fences look awful, terrible quality.

(Liberty hill, 2020-03-06)

#115

My fence is terrible and already has boards popping out after 8 months.

(Liberty hill, 2020-03-06)

#116

I've had to replace two sections of fence already and I have another needing replaced.

(Liberty Hill, 2020-03-06)

#119

Landscaping timbers are not recommended for post anywhere you look at them they are not intended for this purpose. Metal post should have been used in this area for support yet cheap bids created a subpar fence product. I hope this petition creates change on behalf of the home owners.
