disgusting! poland is a poor country with severe poverty which i seen when i lived ther and they have a no euthanising policy on animals unless severely dangerous after been tested this is a disgrace to do this in england!!!!

It is cruel to put any healthy animal to sleep, EVERY animal has a right to have a life & be cared for & loved, who gave anyone permission to do this? It is not right & should be stopped immediately!!!

I really cannot understand why you would euthasnise a healthy animal just for lack of space. I know there are more abandoned and unclaimed animals than homes available but some organisations stress they never put a healthy animal down so why can't others? And a national scheme on speying and neutering sand microchipping would be a great idea, although I know the problem will be funds. If the government can fund arms they can fund animal saving too.

I agree these are lives at the end of the day and the Government should be funding the safety of these animals. Many become homeless due to unforeseen circumstances, we wouldnt put a homeless human to sleep.And we shouldn't be putting these poor animals to sleep either!!

There are so many rescue centres in the UK that it can be extremely difficult to track down a lost animal. Especially if it somehow ends up in an area not close to home. I'm sure much loved pets are killed because te owner has not been able to locate it in time. There is a need for a central register to be created where every lost and found animal is listed. Even the dead ones killed in road traffic accidents often have a grieving owner who will never know what happened to their much loved pet.

Personally speaking i think cats and dogs should all be chipped.I now the law class cats as rodents but they too are somebody's pet and want to know what has happened to them if they go straying. I think there definitely should be a central register where all the animal shelters are linked to one another so all the info is updated as it comes in.People then have a better chance of tracing their pet, as it stands at the moment it is very hard work for owners to check all the rescue shelters in the country.It is too time consuming and by the time they have double and triple checked everywhere the 7 days is up and the poor missing animal has already been put to sleep:-(

healthy pets should not be put to sleep because of stupid owners!!!!!! We need stricter controls when buying a pet so the pets don't suffer because owning a pet as worn off !

Euthanizing healthy animals is barbaric, heartbreaking, irresponsible and disrespectful. Life should be respected - a nation's attitude to animals is indicative to its level of civilisation.

I am a animal lovers and it broke my heart when I had to have my dog put to sleep due to old age and ill health and she was 12 nearly 13 it was like I had been stabbed in my heart but to put healthy animals to sleep this is not right why does this have to happen this is wrong wrong wrong xx
