Do you support Free Speech and Anti-Discrimination?

I'm signing this petition because I believe in freedom of choice to view any film an adult chooses, particularly if it is showing information which enables people to make fully informed decisions. No person, group or " charity" has the right to appoint themselves censors, or thought police because of an issue they do not approve of. Lansdown Hall is a community resource for ALL. I've seen "Protocol 7" & it must be shown to those who freely choose to see it.

Censorship and/or discrimination, in ANY form, can no longer be tolerated! Sovereignty, does, and must include, the right to free speech - a right that no single entity has the authority to revoke or alter.

As someone whose child was damaged by one dose of measles/rhubella, and who would be very willing to debate anyone on the subject of jabs in depth as to how much death and injury they are provably visiting on people, It grieves me deeply that these mini McCarthy's feel it is their right to preside over what information people may, or may, not be made privy to, so that they can make up THEIR OWN MINDS. This is typical controlling behaviour of narcissists, it is dangerous, and it must be stopped. The trustees of Lansdown Hall are failing in their fiduciary duty to ensure that this iconic community buidling is there for the benefit of all, and not just as a venue to push dangerous and ill informed ideologies that have a injurious effect on society. They must be brought to book.

I love living in Stroud and cannot beleive that Lansdown Hall Trustees think they can censor what people look at, What an embarassment to our town! Are people too stupid to make up their own minds!!!

There are always two sides to every story and Andrew Wakefield’s definitely needs to be heard

we should chose what films we want to see not charities that don't agree with the message. Too much money in too few hands is shaping a world that is undermining the wellbeing of the 99%.

Free speech and the absence of censorship are the cornerstones of a truly free and democratic society, enabling individuals to share ideas, challenge norms, and hold those in power accountable. When free expression is preserved, innovation thrives, as bold ideas and unconventional thinking are given the space to flourish. Suppressing speech, even if well-intentioned, risks silencing marginalized voices and empowering those who seek to manipulate the narrative for their own gain. Free speech ensures that dissent and debate remain healthy, fostering understanding and progress through dialogue rather than division. It protects the right to question authority and fight injustice, allowing individuals to stand up for what they believe in without fear of repression. A world where free speech is curtailed is a world where fear and conformity replace curiosity and courage—a risk no society can afford to take.

This is about more than supporting free speech. This is about ensuring the public are informed in an environment of propaganda and censorship.

I'm signing because I believe Stroud Town Council and the charity running Lansdown Hall are acting in a discriminatory manner, censoring events and films. We deserve to know the truth with regards to health matters.

I am aware of government funding of organisations with an agenda to shut down free speech that dissents from government narratives on every lie they have perpetuated from Covid-19 origins to Climate Change and Immigration. Andrew Wakefield was persecuted by the British Establishment for establishing what is now established fact; that MMR vaccines are linked to autism. The bottom line is that the hidden power operating and controlling the government (see Dominic Cummings and Liz Truss statements) is motivated by evil intent. I don't recall who said this truth but it is relevant to today's dystopia "Emergencies have always been the pretext on which the safeguards of individual liberty have been eroded."

Free Speech is the foundation of a free society. This film has been well researched and offers an important perspective on medical science and in particular concerns relating to vaccine. It is important that this information is shared for people to form their own judgements.

I believe that the public has a right to see this film and Lansdown Hall should not be deciding what is "the truth" and preventing access to free speech.

Free speech is a fundamental democratic human right. While the content of this film may not represent the whole truth it is nevertheless a very valid contribution to the debate and should therefore be heard and not suppressed.

I am outraged that just because a small minority in Stroud don't feel comfortable with opposing viewpoints to themselves, that they can influence the Council etc to obey what they desire which is to control the free flow of information to others.

Alex Flower (2024-12-14)

Living in a free society is allow different views to be expressed even if one does not agree with those views. Anything else takes us to a very dangerous place.

This is an appalling discriminatory abuse of their position. Many local people, myself included wish to preserve, respect & defend our freedom of speech and information. To be able to form your own opinions you need to hear evidence, debate from all sides. The Lansdown is acting as a form of dictatorship by deciding to censor this film by refusing local people who want & choose to see it the opportunity. They have allowed other talks to be presented at the hall that many of us do not agree with politically but defend & support the importance of civilised debate & freedom of speech.
This cancellation is not acceptable in our town or elsewhere & appears to be politically motivated & treating the residents & others who want to attend with disrespect, distain by dictating & censoring what they can hear or see at a public hall. It’s discriminatory.
I urge the management to reconsider. To be inclusive & respectfully of other opinions. It is not their job or position to dictate what they deem suitable for us especially as they are not the experts & if they themselves attended the film they would be more informed, which is what we should all strive to be!

I held events with a friend in my village hall for over a year post lockdown …… all invited speakers ran legitimate legal UK businesses. Before we started running the events we checked with the hall all insurance and licence requirements which we fulfilled. One day several months in we were asked if we had insurance ….. I provided proof of insurance and answered all other questions which seemed to be designed to find fault with what we were doing. A couple of events later I was informed that our events were considered controversial and that all future events had to be run via the village hall committee which only met every two months. The events open to the public and the member only supper evenings we ran were something we did in our own time - this was not a job for us - and the conditions put on us were onerous and time consuming so we stopped running the events. We always left the hall tidy, adhered to parking rules (hiring a local parking field), ensured we kept noise to a minimum etc. I even send the committee pictures from events showing rows of the backs of largely grey haired people listening to talks ….. to show we were not causing havoc ….We were shut down because someone or some people didn’t like our speakers. Who could have imagined 5 or 10 years ago that people in the UK could not have different opinions and could not share information that didn’t align with the official narrative. (One of our speakers was a herbal tea company that sells business to business and the last time I went shopping herbal teas were still widely sold!!) Simply terrifying.

Suppression and censorship of speech and ideas is a present and increasingly pervasive harm to each one of us and to democracy. I very much want to be able to judge Protocol 7 for myself. The people of Stroud deserve to hear all views and an open debate.
How dare you censor our choice in this matter?

Censoring of information and what can or cannot be shared is wrong on so many levels. I believe in freedom of choice to view any film an adult chooses, particularly if it is showing information which enables people to make fully informed decisions.
Individuals may not agree with the film they don’t need to watch it. No person, group or " charity" has the right to appoint themselves censors, or thought police because of an issue they do not approve of. Lansdown Hall is a community resource for ALL.
