I’m signing because this beautiful circular walk has been accessible for the last 40 years since I moved here. We go bird watching and dog walking and it is a beautiful area.

This is a lovely walk and seems mean to stop residents using the path

Helen Brandley (Holmes Chapel, 2024-06-03)

#34

the public have been using this path for years and access should still be allowed.

We’ve used this path very regularly since moving to the village 4 years ago. It’s our favourite that we take any visiting family and friends on as you can see the telescope in the distant and the wood is beautiful. It’s obviously a very well worn path that has been used for years and years. I had no idea it was owned privately. Please please keep this route open to us locals.

Rebecca Jones (Holmes Chapel, 2024-06-03)

The alternative path can be dangerous

Adele Higson (Cheadle, 2024-06-03)

#42

Because this is a favourite Public right of way walk way

Catherine Whelan (Manchester, 2024-06-03)

We love the walk. It's one of the nicest within easy access of the village, particularly if you can't drive. After being used for so long by the village it feels like a petition is absolutely the right course of action. Would be happy to help pick up litter whenever we pass through.

We tried out this lovely walk last week but the barbed wire is definitely a hazard making it really difficult to enter the woods

Marie Grundy (Twemlow Green, 2024-06-03)

I used to live in the area and still come back , this is something all should be able to see

Ken Wedderburn (Manchester, 2024-06-03)

I object to a path that should have public access being closed

Pamela Penlington (Holmes Chapel, 2024-06-03)

#64

We have always walked through these woods for many years .

Too much land is being restricted by farmers and landowners.

Steve Robinson (Holmes Chapel, 2024-06-04)

#67

After reading details it seems dangerous to adults, children and animals erecting barbed wire without signage. Also, I believe in public rights to walk our countryside not in restricting it.

Margaret Ranger (Holmes Chapel, 2024-06-04)

#70

This is a valued bit of the countryside which we visit regularly and do no damage and leave no trace

G Hayhurst (Holmes Chapel, 2024-06-04)

#74

I regularly walk this way with both friends and my dog

Kate Garrihy (Carnage, 2024-06-04)

I enjoy walking this route with my children and the local rainbows group I run- this will stop us now as the main road is too busy.

This is a walk I do regularly and have done for years - it seems such a shame to close it off

Mary Francis (Holmes Chapel, 2024-06-04)

I’m signing because we have enjoyed this walk for over 15 years. A few years ago we saw wild deer running through it, lots of good memories with our child too!

Joanne Rowe (Holmes Chapel, 2024-06-04)

I’m a local resident who walks in the area.

#101

Its totally wrong to continue to prevent access

Gill Bradfield (Crewe, 2024-06-05)

#102

The changes make no sense because it is still possible to walk up to the 'horse jump'. The path round, to get to the other side of the 'horse jump' is unkempt and potentially dangerous in it's current state.

Caroline Wilkes (Crewe, 2024-06-05)

#103

It is vitally important that our footpaths are open, safe to use and that access to the countryside is maintained. Signage must be restored and barbed wire removed.

Helen Edge (Brereton, Sandbach, 2024-06-05)

#105

I love this route through the woods & have walked through with my dog recently and was dismayed to see the barbed wire across the exit to the top field, unsure as to why this has been restricted

Adrian Merrick (Crewe, 2024-06-05)

I am very disappointed by the actions of Blue Slate farm.

Steve Grundy (Twemlow CP, Cheshire East, 2024-07-01)

#152

I have lived in this area all my life - 45 years.
And have enjoyed lovely walks through this area. The Bidlea farmers are lovely and always friendly
The Blue Slate Farmers are not however and it is purely to be difficult it seems that they have done this. I have never seen any litter in this woods or anyone damaging things.
Such a shame.

Gemma Boyce (Goostrey, 2024-08-18)

The countryside is for all
