STOP LAFARGE DEVELOPMENT - CONSERVE OUR WATERSHED!

Comments

#1

It is wrong to destroy conservation protected land for commercial development. It's also wrong to circumvent the zoning process, as has been done here.

Heather Patti (White Marsh, 2023-03-21)

#4

We do not need anymore outrageous development in our Coastal area

Christina Hinkle (Middle River, 2023-03-22)

#5

I oppose this development for several reasons, but most significantly for its adverse environmental impact on the nearby waterways.

Nicole Quigley (Middle River, 2023-03-22)

#10

This proposal would have a huge negative impact to our community and to our Treasured Bird River Watershed

Linda Felts (Middle River, 2023-03-22)

#11

my mother lives nearby and I know this is going to cause overcrowding and horrible driving conditions.

Kimberly Ayre (Baltimore, 2023-03-22)

#12

Let's plan for what is best for the community, not developers.

TA Bowser (Middle River, 2023-03-22)

#15

Too much environmental destruction, destabilizing our rural communities and much more. Eastern Baltimore county has been dumped on for far too long!

Minta Manown (Middle river, 2023-03-22)

#16

Oppose development

Maria Baliles (Baltimore, 2023-03-22)

#17

I live in Bird River Beach. The traffic is already horrible with the new homes added on 43. I cannot imagine how it will be with 11,000 tractor trailers added daily! This community and surrounding area does not need any more storage or warehouse space! If you must have a warehouse, put it on eastern avenue across from Martins/next to 43. That is already an eye sore and has been for a long time. The Lafarge site would be better used for a grocery store or a high school which our community desperately needs.

Sarah Maier (Baltimore, 2023-03-22)

#18

There is over-development in this area. With all of the housing development in this area and the increase in traffic, it is negatively affecting the environment and negatively impacting green space and native plants and animals.

Catherine Reinholdt (Middle River, 2023-03-22)

#19

I live in 1 mile from this location. We need to avoid more traffic along these dangerous roads, as well as avoid more sediment and stormwater runoff into our critical bay areas.

Seth Valentin (Baltimore, 2023-03-22)

#22

I am opposed to a PUD on the LaFarge property.

John Curry III (Middle River, 2023-03-22)

#23

I am in disagreement with the proposed changes to this property.

Patricia Brydge (Baltimore, 2023-03-22)

#29

I am vehemently opposed to the development of the property locally referred to as Lafarge Quarry. There is absolutely no need for new development there as there is already land that was developed along the nearby Route 43/White Marsh Boulevard corridor the has been sitting vacant and unused for nearly 4 years now.
If anything is to be done with the Lafarge property it should continue to be reclaimed then planted with assorted trees and shrubs that are indigenous to the area and left alone.

Cheryl Rosendale (Middle River, 2023-03-22)

#31

Don't belong in residential property.

Diane Schloer (Baltimore, 2023-03-22)

#33

I don't feel this location is appropriate for this development.

Mark Hauf (White Marsh, 2023-03-22)

#34

It is beyond me how such a large facility with road widening, eminent domain, impact to wildlife, an enormous increase in both automobile and truck traffic, AND the ultimate elimination of such a valued natural habitat is even on the table. Very sad.

Scott Saunders (Middle River, 2023-03-22)

#39

Time to slow down on the development

Joseph Goodman (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#40

The impact on the waterways and the traffic on Ebenezer road will devastate the surrounding quiet communities

Denise Brace (middle river, 2023-03-23)

#41

I am against the use of this land for warehouse building etc. Our area cannot handle this traffic and it would be detrimental to our wildlife and waterways.

melissa kahl (Baltimore, 2023-03-23)

#44

Due to existing, planned and future development on the route 43 and now Earls Road corridors, thousands of trees and grasslands have been destroyed. This is already negatively impacting runoff/drainage, environmental wetlands, traffic, emergency responses and intended zoning of the area. Less development is needed, not more.

Michelle Ross-Gavin (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#45

My community will be directly and negatively impacted by this development. Our previous county council representative was NOT representing the wishes of local residents when creating this resolution. And we are already seeing the overwhelming impact of current massive development in this area with little to no modifications made for increased traffic and population.

Stephanie Quaerna (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#48

This area cannot take on anymore truck traffic or anymore traffic at all. Since the truck traffic has been getting heavier in this area there a severe accidents a couple times a week.

Karen Coffey (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#54

This project should have been rejected by the county.

Mark Leichtman (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#55

I am opposed of the PUD - watershed, rural community, traffic on Ebenezer Road

Kathy Biedenback (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#56

I’m signing because I am opposed to the development and the zoning change. We need to preserve our watershed and protect the integrity of our community.

Geralynn Edwards (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#57

I'm sickened for all of the wildlife this kills! It's a federal offense to disturb Bald Eagle and Osprey nests.... but okay if you have big money and want to demolish everything. I have a horse farm that backs up to the quarry, and this really isn't good for the area. The drainage/run-off is changing and already disturbed from all of the other construction/ building across the street. I'm sure this will impact my animals too!

Noelle Keller (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#58

I'm opposed

Terry Spurlock (Chase, 2023-03-23)

#60

I strongly oppose the proposed development.

David Hash (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#62

I don't want warehouses to be built on Earls Rd. There is enough building in this area. We don't need more.

Martha Wile (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#63

I oppose the use of this property for commercial buildings

Kathleen Rohrer (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#65

Proposed development inconsistent with land conservation zoning. Project unnecessary.

Eric Jeffreys (Rosedale, 2023-03-23)

#66

Disagree with the potential PUD, will directly affect our property on Ebenezer Rd

Don Biedenback (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#68

We already have too much development in this area. We need to conserve more of our watershed and let the wildlife have homes again.

SHARON KULCZYNSKI (WHITE MARSH, 2023-03-23)

#69

We are being over developed at this end of Baltimore county ! At this rate there won’t be a tree left standing in this area ! Traffic is already over crowded with a single lane of travel at every direction !

Joann Harbin (Baltimore, 2023-03-23)

#71

Resident in area and don't want to this happen

Dan Albright (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#72

We do not need or want anymore warehouses in our communities, let alone widening roads to and from them!!!

Alicia Burleson (Baltimore, 2023-03-23)

#73

Too much for our community and roads to handle

Bonnie Petajnik (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#74

I’m against any further building in my area.

Alex Franckewitz (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#77

I’m signing because I am opposed to the development and the zoning change. We need to preserve our watershed and protect the integrity of our community.
Location of development is inappropriate.

christopher everett (Baltimore, 2023-03-23)

#79

We don’t need more toxic development atriums our already super polluted river and area.

Kathryn Hernandez (Baltimore, 2023-03-23)

#80

I’m against the plans to build on the LaFarge grounds, this would be a huge impact to the already overbuilt infrastructure.

AJ Crandall (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#81

I do not want Ebenezer to be wider or the traffic that comes with it. What about the wildlife being displaced? There has been too much of that!

Sandra Allman (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#82

The infrastructure cannot accommodate what’s required for this project. EPA concerns.

James Gilliam (Chase, 2023-03-23)

#84

I do not want more traffic or housing in our community. We already have had way too much growth in our area in the past few years. There is also too much run off now that goes into the water surrounding our community and it is the most polluted waters in the state. Let's leave things alone and do more good for our neighbors!

Kimberly Bambino (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#85

Development is ruining this area.

Milt Tarr (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#86

The community does not need the growth of any building projects.

Scott Bambino (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#87

To stop Lefarge

Mike McCubbin (Baltimore, 2023-03-23)

#90

This community does not have the roads necessary . Residents should not have their front yards taken , to then hear trucks and heavy traffic 24 hours a day. The community of Oliver Beach and Harewood experience more traffic each year. This would cause even longer commutes and travel times. The quiet and peace of our communities is being threaten by the explosive development. Turn it all into a park with lots of trees!

Rosemary Podhorniak (Middle River, 2023-03-23)

#96

The new development would negatively impact residents and businesses currently in the area, as well as the environment and indigenous wildlife in the area.

Sarah Clifford (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#99

Traffic issues on Ebenezer Rd., Effects from runoff into the Bird River, Effects to wildlife, Environmental concerns with what was actually dumped there and covered up!

Environmental impact and lack of infrastructure to support

Rick Skelley (Baltimore, 2023-03-24)

#102

I don’t want the added traffic, I don’t want to see the buildings from my home and I don’t want my property value depreciated.

David Mosley (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#103

I am very much against this it should not be developed. There isn't enough room as it is for the traffic. This is a terrible idea!

Sharon Bach (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#105

We don’t need more traffic in our area! This is a residential area that is not meant for large trucks and a lot more traffic.

Christine Kennedy (Middle river, 2023-03-24)

#106

There is no need for additional warehousing when all that space is available on route 43

Harriett Telljohann (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#107

No more construction

Chris Pasko (Baltimore, 2023-03-24)

#108

Stop the wasteful development of rural areas. Do not need more empty offices.

Michael Eastman (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#109

this is going to be disasterous. The impact on this small community will stress it out to the max we have a enough tyraffic hear and no i dont want ebenezer rd widened. that will affect the schools that are so close to earls road on each side of it plus not to mention all the wildlife will be ousted not to mention the contamination of the creeks that are on each side of my community where i live

darlene heinle (middleriver, 2023-03-24)

No more development in this area. Enough is enough already!!

I am opposed to the development on Earls Road.

Russell Chalk (Chase, 2023-03-24)

#120

I oppose this

Darrell Strathy (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#122

There are enough unoccupied warehouses and scars on our wetlands over on 43. We don’t need any more and we don’t need Ebenezer road to be wifened to accommodate truck traffic when that was the purpose of the whole 43 project. This is all just a political scam to make the corrupt democratic politicians in Maryland more wealthy. They need to go an so do these damn developers!

Gary Dufour (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#123

There are many reasons, as described above.

Kathy Hoffman (White Marsh, 2023-03-24)

#124

I’m signing this because my property borders Ebenezer road. We no way need this additional traffic or the sizeable expansion of Ebenezer
Rd.

Christina George (White marsh, 2023-03-24)

#125

I’m tired of overdevelopment!

Cindy Lewis (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#126

Current infrastructure cannot support this development and expanding the roads will not be feasible. The land should be permanently conserved. These developers have done enough damage. It stops here.

Beau Quaerna (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#127

We need to protect our community from being over run by traffic and unwanted thing getting put into our water ways.

Audrey Webster (Baltimore, 2023-03-24)

#128

I oppose this development plan.

Stephen Quaerna (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#129

I've lived in Bay Country for 29 years. The reason my husband chose this area is because there is farmland, parks, lots & lots of trees/wooded areas for the animals to live, waterways, not to mention the elementary school located here in our community, where all three of our boys went. Also, we've enjoyed this little kept secret away from all the hustle and bustle. Why don't you take the 400 acres of property and replace it with trees that have been uprooted to place homes all around this already small community.
Debra Everett

Debra Everett (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#132

I DON’T want this property to be developed, and have its contaminates flow into our waters, or our water tables. Our waterways are polluted enough !

Dave Mattes (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#134

I don't want my fellow neighbors, family, friends, and I to have to live with the fallout of a rushed development that makes no sense to anybody other than those two will profit from it. I don't want to deal with the increased traffic, the delays to and from places I need to or want to go due to the increased traffic. I don't want to deal with the potential hazardous material running off the property when it rains. I don't want to be 75 dying from cancer proven to have been related to something running of the property. We all moved here for a reason, we continue to live here for that reason, it is reasonably quiet, ingress and egress outside of busy hours is easy and enjoyable. The ONLY thing this community really needs is a grocery store, and a good one at that.

Chad Umberger (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#135

I agree with all the reasons stated in the petition.

Beverly Moyer (Essex, 2023-03-24)

#136

I don’t want increased traffic on my main road.

Tamara George (White Marsh, 2023-03-24)

#137

Do not need industrial space with 43 & Martin building areas. Need park space to protect Waterways

Edward Houseknecht jr (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#138

Road congestion, damage to environment ( both land and river), and loss of trees will increase warming.

Ruth Hauf (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#141

This project does not work with our current infrastructure or the infrastructure proposed.

Scott Miller (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#142

This PUD is illegal, premature, inconsistent with the spirit, intent and letter of the PUD legislation governing PUDs, and an inappropriate use of RC8 zoned land.

Robert Bendler (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#143

I am signing this because I am against the widen of the ebenezer rd & The building on the Lafarge property..It Will be a disaster with accidents ..with with the traffic and the Trucks ..and it will down grade everyone’s properties and a lot of people will lose their homes..How can a builder just come into a quiet neighborhood and just think they can take over ..and people that live here have to lose Everything they have worked for ..This is just not right..Thanx Janet Blake

Janet Blake (Middle River, 2023-03-24)

#144

This development is not in the interests of the community nor to visitors who will be traveling along the roads affected by the increase in traffic and also the pollution increase

Sylvia Connolly (Baltimore, 2023-03-24)

#146

I grew up in that area and I want to protect the environment. Every time big business puts their hand to something, it’s usually disastrous. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but eventually, the quality of life for creatures great and small, and human, suffer.

Susan Willadsen (Baltimore, 2023-03-25)

#147

not good for the environment and the additional traffic Connor be supported.

Charles Poehler (Middle River, 2023-03-25)

#148

I am opposed to the current proposed development of this property. The surrounding roads are already overly congested as are the existing water/sewer systems. Existing schools are over maximum enrollment.

Kathleen Horner (Baltimore, 2023-03-25)

#149

I live in the area and have had enough of the building and over crowding. The previous politician had absolutely no regard for the community when he snuck this through.

Michele Henninger (Baltimore, 2023-03-25)

#150

Do to the damaging effects it will have on the Gunpowder and Bird River Watersheds also no developer has ever had are surrounding areas at hart.

#155

There are other places that could be redeveloped

Thomas Bonvissuto (Parkton, 2023-03-25)

#156

This proposal is not in the interest of the people living in these communities. These PUD’s were planned in the shadows without any consideration of our rural neighborhoods that we want to be kept rural. The planning and approval of this entire mess was solely to benefit the corrupt people that were in control but never should have been! The entire area needs to be preserved and returns to nature.

Kelly Mitchell (Middle River, 2023-03-25)

#157

On behalf of chase manor Home owners association

David Sines (Chase, 2023-03-25)

#158

I oppose this proposal. We do not have the infrastructure to support this.

Katherine Pettway (Baltimore, 2023-03-25)

#159

I’m signing because I don’t believe the proper investigation into the environmental impact of repurposing this site has been accomplished. As a resident living in the area I don’t believe that Eastern Ave or Ebenezer Rd can handle large truck traffic without being upgraded!

Randall Bowers (Middle River, 2023-03-25)

#162

I oppose the entire PUD building proposal project for all the reasons listed in this petition. I am also completely AGAINST the proposed widening of Ebenezer Rd & Earls Rd because our 114 year old home and 100+ more neighboring homes and properties located along the two roads will be completely or partially destroyed.

Monica Searfino (White Marsh, 2023-03-25)

#167

We MUST protect our watershed !!! These waters are just showing some signs of recovery and we do not need greed to interfere with our greatest treasure !!

Caroline Queale (Middle River, 2023-03-26)

#169

This proposal will create unacceptable increase in traffic and strains on watershed areas and is almost unanimously opposed by residents for that and similar reasons.

Linda DePalo (Baltimore, 2023-03-26)

#170

I grew up in the area. Have lots of family & friends there. Still own a house there. My land has suffered from the building of 43. I have watched the overdevelopment over the last several years. The area has been destroyed . Enough is. Enough!

Rachel Wolinski (Freeland, 2023-03-26)

#171

I am signing because I am opposed to the development of this area in violation of the current zoning. In addition, the negative impact the development would have on the surrounding ecology and inhabitants.

Pamela Hagerich (Baltimore, 2023-03-26)

#172

I am opposed to the development of the Middle River Business Park, PUD..

Darlene Piercy (Middle River, 2023-03-26)

#173

It’s important to protect the watershed. We have to be more diligent in protecting the ecosystem and our waterways. There is already a surplus of office and industrial space.

Drew Padgett (Middle River, 2023-03-26)

#174

BQ is a beautiful family residential neighborhood, and have truckers flying through causing so much commotion and corruption. Possible prostitution and higher drug rates. Leave BQ a family neighborhood! Leave the peace!

This project directly will impact my property and surrounding wildlife, preserves.

#179

To much being built up in this area

Andrew Neely (Middle River, 2023-03-26)

#181

I'm a long time, local property owner who drives these roads daily. After decades of dodging sand and gravel trucks that decimated our community, our community deserves this land to be open space and to be used as needed for environmental/forest restoration and/or climate mitigation.

Katherine Martin (Perry Hall, 2023-03-26)

#182

I am signing because I oppose the proposed use for the property and the use of a PUD to change zoning to avoid the normal zoning change process.

Henry Stromberger (Middle River, 2023-03-26)

#184

This proposal will be catastrophic to this area

Justin Messenger (White Marsh, 2023-03-26)

#185

The area around the quarry cannot support the traffic this would produce.

Robert Eberwein (Middle River, 2023-03-27)

#187

Our roads cannot handle 1400 trucks running back and forth on Ebenezer rd. Widening Ebenezer would bring hardships on so many homeowners.

Crystal Cox (Baltimore, 2023-03-27)

#188

I’m signing because I believe the PUD for LaFarge is An outrageous idea and could very well ruin the entire area, the area isn’t equipped for the kind of traffic they project will come from the PUD nor do the residents of this area want this kind of industry. The residents enjoy how quiet it is and take pride in saying they live middle River.

Jacob Sines (Baltimore, 2023-03-27)

#190

Traffic, strain on environment and wildlife will be damaging to the area. Building already in the area has put a strain on traffic and wildlife and proposed widening of Ebenezer will destroy homes and their property.

Community Support

Fred Hylla (Middle River, 2023-03-27)

#193

Eastern Baltimore county is an especially important environmental area due to its proximity to local rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. The area has already seen extensive commercial and residential development along route 43 that included the removal of thousands of trees and a resulting detrimental increase in storm water runoff pollution to local waterways and the Bay. No additional development should occur or be allowed by means of a PUD. Proper study of the community's needs and protection of the environment consistent with the Baltimore County Master Plan and the existing plan to clean up the Chesapeake Bay by 2025 should be the primary consideration and guiding principles for future development.

Daniel Doerfer (Middle River, 2023-03-27)
