I totally support this petition, we do not have a rush for getting graduated and we prefer to wait and have a proper ceremony as promised. And having a graduation in the middle of the day in a weekday when everybody works is clearly a sign that we were not taken into account for this decision making.Paula Manzano Izquierdo (Paris, 2021-04-26)

We want to finish how we started and celebrate together this milestone.Daniele Spaccapeli (Berlin, 2021-04-26)

I look forward to an in-person celebration for our graduation offline. I worked through my entire thesis at home with lots of challenges, conducted user studies at the most difficult time, however almost not feeling the value of my work when most things just happened through a 13-inch screen. The class of 2018 deserves a real shout out for graduation.Zhuowen Fang (Stockholm, 2021-04-26)

An online graduation is pointless. Staring to a screen for a couple of extra hours after work cannot replace meeting my classmates again.Carlos Abad García (Madrid, 2021-04-26)

An offline ceremony at a later point in time would be the only appropriate and acceptable solution for our graduation.Lalith Kumar Bakthavathsalu (Stockholm, 2021-04-26)

I would like to support the cause and would like to be considered for a regular in person ceremony even if it takes us more time to wait. I think we deserve to celebrate the completion of our studies in a better way than an online ceremony considering all the challenges during the pandemic. Nothing is compared to meeting and greeting our friends and celebrating our milestone together. Hence I stand for an in person / onsite graduation ceremony for 2018-2020 cohort.Priya Sivasubramanian (Berlin, 2021-04-26)

a remote ceremony has very little value to me compared to the real in-person ceremonyAlessandro Amici (Helsinki, 2021-04-27)

I believe the final ceremony should take place on-site. Online, it doesn't add any tangible value to our CVs. The ceremony is mostly about meeting our peers and share ideas and facts about what happened in the last 2/3 years. We're all tired of having long lasting calls with low engagement and this ceremony risks to fall into this category.Morever, some of us will probably be forced to skip the ceremony on Tuesday if it doesn't start after the end of the working day.

Please give us a chance to see one another in person again! We are willing to wait.Neza Dukic (Stockholm, 2021-04-27)

I'm signing because I totally agree with the petition. I already have a job, I will get my degree certificates in around a year anyway because everything is delayed due to covid, so I can wait for a live ceremony as well. In the summer this can happen, so you just want to save money.Sergiu Lazar Angelescu (Milan, 2021-04-27)

An in-person event (whenever it could take place) would also help with absorbing the stress, fatigue associated with the pandemic. At the same time, it will be really enjoyable to meet all of the colleagues we have met through this EIT journey.Srinath Potnuru (Stockholm, 2021-04-27)

The graduation ceremony is the conclusion of a memorable and tough university journey. We started together in person, we went through this together in person, and we want to finish this together in person. Graduation ceremony is not about a piece of paper. It's about celebrating the end of a journey with the people who were part of the journey. This cannot happen online.Giovanni Ferronato (Amsterdam, 2021-04-27)

I do not want to attend an online ceremony. I would rather wait however long needed until I can attend one in person.Bharathwaj Krishnaswami Sreedhar (Berlin, 2021-04-27)

I completely agree with the reasons of the petition. One of the added values of the European Master School is to bring people together, which is not achieved in an online cerimony. Online there is no personal connection and no way to meet all colleagues with whom we shared one of our most important periods of our life.Damiano Sartori (Amsterdam, 2021-04-27)

I hope you can rethink it, it would mean a lot to all of us. Every time somebody asks me about EIT I tell the most amazing stories, what I learned and the friends I got! We want to become alumni in a proper way 😁 We’re EIT, we’re amazing !Maria Serralha (Lisboa, 2021-04-27)

I'd really miss the opportunity of going out on the stage to receive the certificate, having a strange photo with it after, and - most importantly - sharing hugs with all other students with whom I shared so many good times during those studies. I can wait, but I'd love to attend in person.Karolina Drobotowicz (Espoo, 2021-04-27)

All I can think of when I consider an online event is the missed chance to come together in person with my fellow classmates. That's not a celebration, that is depressing. After having waited and not having had an online ceremony on time, it is even more frustrating to hear the news of an online ceremony this June. On the one hand this feels like having waited for nothing. On the other, the fact that the ceremony was postponed increased the hope that the pandemic would be waited out for an offline event. The news of an online event is a let down on this hope for which I would wait even longer.

I am disappointed that the graduation ceremony is happening online. Though I am from the 2017 cohort and this is our last chance. I still reckon it is not fair on us that EIT Digital is imposing an online ceremony on us.Vibhor Sharma (Eindhoven, 2021-04-27)
