There are a person living there.
Always parties and drinking.
Drug deals take place in this area.

Victor Lemmer (Alberton, 2020-09-15)

#3

we drive past this every day and have several friends living nearby. The area is a short distance from the primary school and directly opposite a retirement community. The noise pollution, litter and regular parties are becoming common place for people who do not even live in the area.

Christel Raubenheimer (Alberton, 2020-09-15)

Lee-Ann Brown (Alberton, 2020-09-15)

Because of loud noise nearly everyday and definitely Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from early till very late. Drug activities, sex activities, loitering, liquor abuse, spinning of motor vehicles when people are hanging on the vehicles open doors. Cars throughing donuts, motorbike races, etc

We live right next to the dam.its noisy as well as dangerous...and the people leave the place a mess

Rina Henning (Alberton, 2020-09-15)

#34

I believe that there are good grounds for the petition. I live very close to the dam. The litterering, loud music and noise is a huge problem over weekends. This beautiful spot in Alberton is being destroyed by careless selfish people.

Amanda Berg (Alberton, 2020-09-15)

#36

Johann Van Der Merwe (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#44

The people using this open park is casuing havoc and dragging a beautiful city through the mud. They are careless and have no common decency.

Tiaan Snyman (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#46

Amanda Rudolph (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#48

We need our public parks to be kept free of criminal elements and illegal activities. Residents use these parks to exercise and walk their animals

Tania Coetzer (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#50

People leaving the place in a mess, making noise till very late at night and getting drunk, property prices are being affected by this.

Rudi Rudolph (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#55

The noise pollution is that bad that at times the windows rattle in my home and the following day I have clear my garden of wind blown rubbish that emanates from the open area.

Edward Black (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#56

we stay close to the dam and it looks terrible

Christa Celliers (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#64

It is sad that there is no by-law enforcement by SAPS and EMPD over this area. Alberton residents have been complaining about this area for many years with no support from law enforcement to correct the problem.

Cornelius Van Wyk (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#66

I live close to the affected area, I have seem personally how people treat this area, just on the other side of the bridge is a thriving ecosystem, I'd love to keep it that way and will personally donate to have this place kept safe from vehicles and the inconsiderate people that visit the park. Nature is everything to me and seeing this place mistreated again after lockdown, is unsettling.

Melissa Waldeck (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#72

I agree with the issue raised and how to prevent it in future

Danie Labuschagne (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#77

We live close by and witness the activities that have a negative impact on the tranquillity of the area. The pollution is unacceptable and the illegal activities are becoming a common sight.
Please put an end to it!

#79

It's just down the road and I can vouch that it's being abused and littered by drunks.

Jadon Brown (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#88

Because it has been a problem for years and the houses across from it is also a risk because there is break ins and a lot of noise

Catharina Buys (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

#90

I am supporting this petition because the place always looks like a rubble heap with all the littering as well as from a community safety point of view.
If vagrants are allowed to erect tents etc., pretty soon we will have a squatter camp om our hands.
The same goes for the open field accross the road next to the Alberton Retirement Village.
The field is littered, people are burning stuff there, presumably copper cables, as the houses in the village get littered with wind carried black soot.

Hendrik J Pelser (Alberton, 2020-09-16)

Its very necessary!!!!!

Sonia Nijhuis (Alberton, 2020-09-17)

#103

Johannes Lodewikus Oetrus Coetzee (Jihannesburg, 2020-09-17)

Salome Botha (Alberton, 2020-09-17)

#107

I am signing because I am a new graduate social worker since 2018 without being employed.

Evelina Mpila (Boksburg, 2020-09-17)

#109

I often visit the retirement village opposite the dam over weekends. The extreme noice from music and people shouting is so bad one can hardly enjoy oneself at the village.
Also the polution that happens over the weekend is really bad and people just throw all their rubbish there after their party.

Carina Nel (Randburg, 2020-09-17)

#115

That place is a nest for bad things

Pw Steinberg (Alberton, 2020-09-17)

#116

The park is always a mes and people are drinking drinking and leaving beer bottles on the park. Not safe place for children to play at all.

Francois Smith (Alberton, 2020-09-17)

I am a concerned citizen, and if Ekurhuleni does not act swiftly the city will turn into a hell hole.

Willie-Waldo Kühn (Alberton, 2020-09-21)

#141

After 12 years of living close to the dam I frequently take my dog for a walk or walk there myself. The amount of littering and broken glass that gets dumped on a daily basis is shocking . After several clean ups the littering still continues . It puts the diverse bird life at risk in the area aswel as the agricultural animals . This land can be better used for feeding the farm animals and the bird life . Not to mention how it would improve water quality down stream

Kyle Mocke (Alberton, 2020-09-21)

#146

Nees to be closed to keep it clean and stop the drinking and drug use

Francois Lategan (Alberton, 2020-09-21)

#147

I live in the area. I am tired of the litter, noise and disruptions by people who don’t live in our area.

Adele Mocke (Alberton, 2020-09-22)

#150

It's ment to be a place where families can get together , if you can take all ypur stuff in with you why can you not take it back with you to throw away. Its disgusting how there is not respect for others that need to use the area as well.

Naomi Coetzee (Germiston, 2020-09-25)

#151

The dam is used by people who are drinking in the open space and leaving their rubbish behind although bins are available. Loud music is olayws, people urinating all over as there are no bathrooms on the outskirts of the dam. The bottles are broken or thrown in the dam. We have witnessed sexual acts and drug use by individuals using thi open space like its their home to trash. The animals are not respected and he ducks and birds have to drink and swim on the filthy water because some are too arrogant to clean up after themselves.we have witnessed fighting. This is a family area where people bring their kids to play in the park inside the dam area but have to witness adults behaving like children.

Dee Garrett (Alberton north, 2020-09-25)

Daniela Steinberg (Alberton, 2020-09-25)

That peace of land is open and we sit with big crime in the era. My husband is attack inside the building and staped many times. Was critical for six days in ICU. Till now nobody is in jail. Dangers areas. Must be close.

We live in Bloutulp and here was already a hijacking and on a second opportunity they stole our car. We believe its those sitting under the trees watching our moves.

People drink, braai and have sex in the park. Drug dealings also happening in the park during all hours of the day.

Alvin Johnstone (Ekurhuleni, 2020-09-25)

#184

the people sitting there is messy and is de-facing our beautiful are. children running into the road is also a hazard as there is no fence to keep them in, and the parents that goes there with their kids do not look after the children as drinking is a priority to them

sandra steyn (alberton, 2020-09-25)
