Because they never received all the recognition they deserved. Noun. Rollermania (uncountable) (historical) A 1970s phenomenon of extreme or hysterical adulation for the Scottish boy band Bay City Rollers. Beatlemania was the intense fan frenzy surrounding the English rock band the Beatles in the 1960s. The group's popularity grew in the United Kingdom throughout 1963, propelled by the singles "Please Please Me", "From Me to You" and "She Loves You". Only ever 2 music mania in the world. Basically says it all.

Joyce Lutz (North Wales, 2020-06-11)

Allison Bergeron (Bridgton, 2020-06-11)

#52

The Bay City Rollers were extremely successful, yet terribly discriminated against in a time when that type of musical discrimination was tolerated and even encouraged. The internet was not there to call people out on their snobby musical attitude. It's time to set aside anybody's personal feelings about the Bay City Rollers and let the sales figures and popularity polls and ongoing fan base in 2020 speak for themselves - and give them that recognition, that the Bay City Rollers were a giant of 70s pop music.

Ciska Kellie (Karana Downs, 2020-06-11)

#54

When a band sell more than 100 million albums, influences the culture, is known worldwide, and continues to sell music 40+ years after their debut, they should be memorialized in the Hall of Fame!

How many other bands from Edinburgh Scotland broke the States. That started out as they did. Was famous, were not. Got famous again. Disappeared and returned 40+ years later. And as a band brand name got famous again. Not many. I say Give the guys still going their dues. Please. This is just ridiculous, to just not acknowledge what they done. Les is well known for having brought the name to the forefront again, after so long away from the limelight..
