I believe it is time that we opt for self-governance. I believe we should consider pooling the savings from the reduced rates on every property into an Attorney Trust account to be used to provide lacking services to our community. This could include general upkeep of the sidewalks as an example.

Johan Coetzer (Glen Marais, 2020-02-01)

Poor water and electricity services. Apart from load shedding, constant disruption of the supply of electricity due to lack of maintenance and exploding sub stations. Water problems persist due to poor maintenance and outsourced sub par repairs being done. Ongoing ,endless water interruptions. All this and water and electricity Bill's remain constant. In some months higher than normal.

Gregory Arumugam (Kempton Park, 2020-02-01)

#65

Illegal settlement Glen Marikana , lack of relocation as per High Court and as such devaluation of my property.

Leandra Snyman (Kemptin park, 2020-02-01)

#68

Glen marikana turned our area into a dump. Lower our rates nothing is for free...if we live close to a dump site then that is what we should be charged for.

Jenny De bruin (Kempton park, 2020-02-01)

#69

Marinda Knott (Glenmarais, 2020-02-01)

#77

High crime rates and generally the area has gone up in smoke since Glen Marikana has formed.

Ruan Smit (Glen Marais, Kempton Park, 2020-02-01)

#85

The. Crime rate has increased drastically because of Glen Marikana. I strongly believe that I should not keep paying Ekhuruleni the same. rates when the value has acutely deprecated.

Adlam Shumba (Kempton Park, 2020-02-01)

#91

Glen Marikana must Move ASAP. THIS IS ALL BULLSHIT. Empty promises. and lower my property Tax.

Linda van der Merwe (Glen Marais, 2020-02-02)

#93

I’m signing because petition the City of Ekhurhuleni to have our properties devalued and our municipal rates adjusted accordingly. This is due to the illegal settlement of Glen Marikana, which has adversely affected our property value in the area.

Armand Van Der Merwe (Kempton Park, 2020-02-02)

#97

Nothing is being done about Glen Marikana, JUST EMPTY PROMISES!!!!, Lies and nobody who whants to take responsibility nor anybody being kept accountable for not acting...

Eugene Venter (Kempton Park, 2020-02-02)

#102

Council responsible for the drop in our value due to squatters available to be there. Also council responsibility for no or poor service delivery, effecting our values.

Louis Nortje (Kempton Park, 2020-02-02)

#104

My area has become emerged in a wave of crime, and the properties in the area have devalued incredibly since the EFF land grab. The ANC run metro council is doing nothing to remedy the situation, but continues to take high property taxes from the residents.

Jacques Du Plessis (Kempton Park, 2020-02-02)

#105

I live close to the informal settlement and it's dirty and an eyesore. Lots of break-ins (2 in 2018).

Chantal Nieuwenhuizen (Kempton Park, 2020-02-02)

#106

Empty political promises to remove the illegal settlement forces us to consider leaving this pathetic country.

Dewald Van der Schyff (Kempton Park, 2020-02-02)

#113

Illigal occupation of land seems to be not condemned but condoned. Noise pollution, land pollution, hygiene pollution, crime increases and we're paying property taxes as if none of the above exist

Tanya Jansen van Rensburg (Kempton park, 2020-02-02)

#114

The local council is not upkeeping the street, parks, power, water and security to that we are use to or paying for. The rates are raised but the service is down graded. I believe your staff overheads are far to high that you can't attend to any services. So much more can be said about the lack of services that we are getting. Just over the past week the garbage truck are set on fire. How can any organizations alow this. You as council are outsourcing the work but keeping the same headcount. I can go on for hours

Peter Taljard (Kempton Park, 2020-02-02)

#118

No attempt is being made by Ekhuruleni to evacate the squatter camp behind Pck 'n Pay.
The dramatic increase in crime, stench, noise and filth has dramatically devalued our properties.

André Oberholster (Kempton park, 2020-02-03)

#120

My property price has dropped significantly due to the squatters

Pearl Heenen (Glen Marais, 2020-02-03)

#121

Glen Marikana is negatively impacting my value and security at home. Bylaws are not enforced.

Rabe Pienaar (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#126

I live very close by to the informal settlemant. Firstly, to occupy land which does not belong to you amd claim it as your own is crazy!

Our properties are devalued and we just have to to keep on with the high repayment of our property loan. Banks dont give a shirt as to if your property is devalued, as long as you adhere to the monthly repayment.

Crime has drastically increased in the area. We see more and more people walking late at night wondering the street to see where they can steel from. To prevent that we had to go to extra measure just to safekeep our lives and our belongings. This also accors additional cost monthly. All adding up to the extreme high repayment of bonds. And all this beacuse people just occupy land without any form of approval or no contrubution from them to any payments.

Its time they move!

Louis Langenhoven (Johannesburg, 2020-02-03)

#127

Glen Marikana must move.

Quintin Swart (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#128

The rates for Glen Marais must be reduced as the Marikana Camp is reducing our house values.

Also the Ekuruleni Municipality must remove the Marikana cap in our surbab.

Nwabisa Ngqoyiyana (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#129

We need to be paying less on our rates and taxes due to Glen Marikana.

Travis de Leur (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#131

Its just not fair to paying citizens that the value of their hard paid for properties be negatively affected by matters out of their hands.

Trevor Locke (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#133

Promises have been made for months to move the Marikanas and yet still no move. Mainly due to them our properties have devalued and crime has increased extensively. If they stay FREE from paying rates and taxes, water and electricity, which they are stealing, then we the hard working taxpayers of Kempton Park demand FREE rates and taxes too!! Glen Marikana MUST FALL!!!!

Elsa Kolar (ASTON MANOR, 2020-02-03)

#136

The Marikana squater camp is devaluing our properties

Mathola Sebata (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

Evericious Magaya (Aston Manor, 2020-02-03)

#139

Two eviction dates have come and gone already and nothing has happened...

Chéanne Du Plessis (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#141

These squatters need to be moved to a place where they are legally placed. They have brought down the whole area because of crime escalating and dirt due to no proper sewage etc.

Cynthia Gordon (Kempton park, 2020-02-03)

#142

#144

City of Ekhurhuleni to devalue our property and adjust our rates accordingly

Jani Beling (Aston Manor, 2020-02-03)

#150

Crime in the area picked up, beggars at corners of traffic intersections (Dann road) is a threat to everyone's safety as they get upset when not giving them money. Health issues due to no proper sanitation structure at Markana

Bianca Mostert (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#153

Unsafe environment

Monique Jacobs (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#154

Crime has escalated since the squatter camp has been erectef and it is affecting the valuation of our properties. It is also not safe to drive around nlear there at night.

Deborah Boshoff (Glen Marais, 2020-02-03)

#156

Illegal squatters, health conditions due to increase of rats and flies. Our properties values that are decreasing including all Jaco Terblanche's points.

Tania Kruis (Johannesburg, 2020-02-03)

#161

It is only fair towards the residents to get a rates adjustment due to the devaluation of properties

Diana DeWet (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#162

I singing this because these people are illegal here in our suburb.
My son lost his brand new bakkie wheels. They stole all 4 tyres with rims
They devalueing our property
PLEASE MOVE THEM AWAY.

Rindi Goosen (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#164

Due to the erosion and filth being cause by Glen Marikana squatter camp in Glen Marais suburb and the devaluation to existing prime suburban property. Sick indeed that this is allowed to happen.

Mark Gibbs (Jakarta, 2020-02-03)

#172

The vallue of my property will be affected and I bought in 2017.

Faith Mmola (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

Unacceptable practice
Accountability
Court order
Politics
To a point and the locals will have to enforce the law.
Wake up as this is coming your way

Deon Jordaan (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#178

Property values declined and the place looks like a garbage dump in Dann Road
Increase in attempted break ins.

Bert Schoeman (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#180

Glen Marikane must be gone. Properry evaluations are going down and area has had increased crime.

Tanya Pereira (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#182

The municipality is unable and unwilling to enforce the law and remove illegal squatters. This has devalued my property and made it almost impossible to sell. I do not see why we should pay rates and taxes to a municipality that does not give services to those that pay.

Evangelos Petropoulos (Kempton Park, 2020-02-03)

#184

That is land grad and that don't pay for services

Gert Van Staden (Kempton park, 2020-02-04)

#186

Disagree with this decision

Amor Zwart (Kempton park, 2020-02-04)

#191

I am signing because the value of my property has not increased since I purchased it in 2014. I need to sell and will be very blessed if I get back what I bought for, which at this stage is not looki g very promising.

Delwyn Stafford (Aston Manor, Kempton Park, 2020-02-04)

#192

I believe that the proximity of Glen Marikana to my property has a negative impact on the saleability of my property.

Tertia Steenkamp (Kempton Park, 2020-02-04)

#194

Have property and tax money are wasted.

Werner Odendaal (Kempton park, 2020-02-05)

#198

I am a home owner in Glen Marais and like all the properties around me, our property values have dropped considerably due to the presence of Glen Marikana.
Therefore, the rates on our properties must be dropped accordingly - my property is no longer at its value as pre Glen Marikana.

Magdalena Bekker (Kempton Park, 2020-02-08)
