What an absolute nonsense 🙄

Music goes hand in hand with hospitality and entertainment. We needs pubs, they are the heart of our community. Don't stop their business

Gill Leech (Hampshire, 2022-08-10)

#810

The pub & the shop are the beating heart of our friendly and inclusive village community. They work so hard to make businesses a success and provide a fantastic service to all village residents how care to avail themselves. If people want to live in a sanitised faceless development let them, but please don’t try to kill off the vibrancy that Everton possesses, aided in no small part by Martin and his team

Jamie Pope (Lymington, 2022-08-10)

#811

this is just silly they are the most amazing people at the Crown and it should never of got to this!!!

gareth chew (Everton, 2022-08-10)

#817

I’m signing because I think 2 45min sessions in the daytime is totally acceptable and brings great joy to a lot of people. If it was late in the evening that would be a different matter. It’s hard now to find pubs which offer live music. The Plough at Tiptoe used to be a great venue and the music was inside the pub. But a couple of complaints from individuals nearby closed that down. If you buy a property near a pub you should be aware that there will be some occasional noise.

Gill Barrett (New Milton, 2022-08-10)

#819

I dj at retro dances playing big band swing, jazz to dance to. Pubs providing a jazz entertainment must be supported, they are a dying breed!

Alan Rutter (Barton on Sea, 2022-08-10)

#821

I agree live music is a positive benefit for the community

Paul Garton (Lymiington, 2022-08-10)

#822

For goodness sake businesses are suffering enough because of Covid etc, why move next to a pub and then moan about the noise?

Sally Cullen (Hordle, Lymington, 2022-08-10)

#823

The music is good and has never been a problem.

Paul Mahy (Lymington, 2022-08-10)

#825

This has been our local pub now for 25 years. The live music has added so much joy to the community after what’s been a miserable few years. It’s very hard to understand how a minority of opinions ruin it for the rest of us!

Hood Jennifer (Lymington, 2022-08-10)

#826

British intervention might be the only way to avoid a draconian punishment.

Jan Horsford (New Milton, 2022-08-10)

#829

I love the pub and the live bands it supports
This is a fantastic village so many people enjoy the music 🎶

amanda Maidment (Hampshire, 2022-08-10)

#831

Lovely staff and pub who are doing their best to help the community. Amazed at the abatement, sounds ridiculous.

Mark Robinson (Lymington, 2022-08-10)

#833

The pub is the hub of the local community , the wishes of the minority should not be taken over the wishes of the majority

Susan Lightfoot (Lymington, 2022-08-10)

#835

This pub has raised a lot of money for charity and local pubs should be supported

Jade Verlander (Bournemouth, 2022-08-10)

#838

Its most important that this wonderful Village Inn stays open, its such a wonderful asset to the village with great Landlord and great Staff. All ages always welcome, food is delicious and a some live music which is always good for the sole. The fundraising events they have also had there raising in excess of 10K. Why would anyone want to complain about this place?

Tricia Podesta (Lymington, 2022-08-10)

#839

It a much needed live music venue in the area.

Like to hear live music in local venues

Andrew Kellers (Christchurch, 2022-08-11)

#846

I lived close to Everton for many years and music is a form of community and bringing people together. As well as togetherness it’s a part of raising money for charities that desperately need funds at this time.

Jodie Chard (Huntingdon, 2022-08-11)

#848

The best way through hard times is supporting your local community, live events, especially music helps bring us all together

Martin Gregory (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#849

We need to support local pubs and venues bringing live music and much needed entertainment for locals and tourists

Craig Jones (New Milton, 2022-08-11)

#854

Because i think the landlord and team have been doing a great job running the Crown.

WARREN SLEVIN (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#856

For crying out loud we are in a cost of living crisis and you want to punish the two most worst hit people groups musicians and pub owners?! If these people want no noise dont move next to a pub!!!!

Rhonda Varley (Milford on Sea, 2022-08-11)

#857

We all know, that you can't please all the people all of the time, but live music lifts your soul and has such a short window ( mainly summer ) why spoil people's enjoyment when there are so many not so nice things going on....😢
Life is too short to live without music..... ❤️

Karen Alsop (New Milton, 2022-08-11)

#861

I am signing because I live local and it’s a lovely pub. Everybody needs all the help they can get at the minute, especially our local pubs and small businesses.

Dessiree Llaneza (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#862

We love this place! It needs to stay operational. Support local businesses!

Lisa Brooker (Barton on sea, 2022-08-11)

#865

Small businesses need supporting and community and charity fundraising events are needed in these times of financial uncertainty.

Fiona Edwards (Milford on Sea, 2022-08-11)

#869

Pubs need live music
Musicians need to work especially after losing income in 2020/2021
People need joy in their lives

Sally Crumpler (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#870

I support live music being permitted at pre-arranged times at this venue. Live music should be treasured and supported in a pub venue.

Beth Phillips (New Milton, 2022-08-11)

#871

It’s nice to go out and see people who can play it’s important to a lot of people

Steven Dyer (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#873

I agree that music events at the Crown Inn Everton are an essential and worthwhile community event and should not be restricted

Jihn Huntley (Everton, 2022-08-11)

#874

These events create community spirit and entertainment for the community . The noise is limited and they raise money for charity

Jackie Verlander (Epsom, 2022-08-11)

#876

This is a small village and the pub is the hub of the village and we should not be dictated to by 3/4 people for a 2/3 hour music session on a Saturday afternoon

Duncan Gannon (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#879

It’s only a few who object. Most people approve and enjoy these summer events.

Carol Tyler (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#882

I ran a Jazz Band in Spain, never after 11.00pm. In the Summer we played outside with no complaints for 3 years. A lady on holiday for 2 weeks complained so we were stopped permanently. The following year I watched the Town Band nearby with 30+ players across the road. The police went to the same house and told the same person that they couldn't stop it because it was the Town band.

John Hutchings (San Fulgencio, 2022-08-11)

#883

We live nearby & the live music has revitalised the pub and the community.

Jo Spencer (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#884

I’m signing this petition because we have been to this lovely venue and they have high standards whilst also being considerate to their patrons, neighbours and the wider community by fund-raising. Please consider removing the Abatement notice as the owners are bring as flexible as they can be. Some mediation between parties could resolve this issue.

Tina Comparini (Southampton, 2022-08-11)

#885

I have attended the pub and the music is not too overselous. It is nice to enjoy live music and the pub support local talent charities and stay as a local working country pub.

Trudy Hetherington-Ford (Southampton, 2022-08-11)

#890

Music, festivals, people gathering together indoors and outdoors have always been the lifeblood of small towns and villages. The pandemic reminded us how important it really is to be able to get together with our neighbours, and how much we lose when we can't. The micro-minority CANNOT be allowed to ruin this for those who want to congregate and enjoy music and culture together. People are already too separated and isolated: our communities will die if the naysayers have their way.

Joe Mugford (Lymington, 2022-08-11)

#894

My husband enjoys playing at this pub, it's never late in the evening and enjoyed by many people. I struggle with a minority of people ruining things for the majority. After such a difficult few years it amazes me that people are so small minded.

Julie Haines (Christchurch, 2022-08-12)

#896

I love the Crown Inn everytime I visit my daughter we always enjoy Claire and the teams hospitality, great food, beers and lovely live music. What a shame a few party poopers can't take a few evenings of live music...its never mega loud anyway!!!

Chris Feeney / Buck family (Everton, 2022-08-12)

#898

The Crown is the heart of Everton. The support for charity and the village is invaluable.

Barry Buttershaw (London, 2022-08-12)

#899

I support live music and I think it’s wrong that the minority spoil thing for the majority. If you live near a pub then noise within reason is a given

Julian Day (New Milton, 2022-08-12)

#902

Live music is a valuable and essential part of our lives. If it's not for you, don't move near a pub! One or two miseries shouldn't ruin the enjoyment of many, and pubs have suffered badly during the pandemic and need to do all they can to attract punters. Also, musicians rely on such venues for their income.

Adrienne Dowd (Southampton, 2022-08-12)

#904

Performance at pubs locally is expected and without it, a venue would be disadvantaged. The landlord here has considered the impact on local residents, the music does not go on late and does not last long. I’m happy to have my weekend afternoons and evenings enriched with pleasant sounds during these lovely summer months.

Janette Bryant (New Milton, 2022-08-12)

#905

It’s a bit of fun , it’s summer

Gary Clarke (Barton on sea, 2022-08-12)

#906

We need music to draw people to this lovely pub. We're not at all rowdy. I'm 72 and love the music. Some people are just grumpy and spoilsports. They should get a life and stop trying to spoil ours. ROCK ON

Wendy Roberts (New Milton, 2022-08-12)

#910

We don't want to lose any pub let alone a venue that have live music. Important asset for the community and bringing people in from further afield.

Andy Smart (Salisbury, 2022-08-12)

#911

Live music is an important part of Everton community life and The Crown, at its heart, should be applauded for its support. Two 45 minute sessions once a week, outdoors during the summer, is surely not too much to ask!

Graham Wedge (Lymington, 2022-08-12)

#912

People who move into a village near a pub and should expect to hear music!!!
This is our way of life.
Live music exists.
Don't move into a village and expect it to change to suit you!

Jamie S Adams (Lymington, 2022-08-12)

#913

Its all silly life is too short

Les Breckon (Highcliffe, 2022-08-12)

#914

This will be another nail in the coffin for our dwindling public houses and live music.

Yvonne Bruce (Lymington, 2022-08-12)

#916

As a local B&B owner we need our village pubs

Pam Reynolds (Everton Lymington, 2022-08-13)

#917

Keeping live events going at our local pubs/community centres/venues binds community together, provides a platform for musicians to promote their live music , is hugely beneficial for mental health & well being of a community and brings people together to appreciate talented musicians . I lived right next to a pub who had a couple of live music events each month, the back drop for the band in the summer was the other side of my garden wall - not all the bands were my taste in music but the joy & kinship it brought to the audience the other side of my wall surpassed my not appreciating every musical genre ! I simply went for a walk or closed the doors & windows or popped next door to listen to the music from the other side of the wall!

Gail Steggell (Milford on Sea, 2022-08-13)

#919

I am discusted that a very small minority of people can spoil the enjoyment of the majority we need live music and entertainment what is the matter with people

Pat Read (Lymington, 2022-08-13)

#923

I have no problem with the music or its volume and it's important to us that the pub survives. It has brought life and a focus point to the village since Martin took over

John Bruce (Lymington, 2022-08-13)

#924

I’m signing this because live music venues must be protected.

Jamie Anderson (Lymington, 2022-08-13)

#925

This is outrageous. If you decide to live near a public house you should A, support it. B, obviously there will be occasions of loud music and conversation. C, through the past years of hardship hospitality has had especially public houses do we really want a heart of a community that brings people together and enjoy them selfs + raising funds not only charity but but for the local area to be restricted by trying to make a living on just hopefully people passing by and being silent???? Small minded and petty. It’s only fun !

Steven Lane (Milford On Sea, 2022-08-13)

#926

Music brings great pleasure to the pub’s guests and allows the pub to help the local community. A very small number of people should not be allowed to dictate on this issue. Please work with Martin and those who have complained to resolve the issue. Perhaps they could choose to join in or go out…

Denise Pinder (New Milton, 2022-08-13)

#927

Pubs need live music to keep them alive and employ local people, plus the charity work helps everyone.

Maria Pinney (New Milton, 2022-08-13)

#929

We all need music in our lives and fundraising!

Seabrook Andrea (Hythe, 2022-08-13)

#930

I believe occasional live music is essential to the pub and its ability to fundraise for good causes, so long as its not after hours and not every day. Surely anyone buying a property near a pub would expect occasional live music events.

David Lewis (Medstead, 2022-08-13)

#932

I’m signing because Martin and his team support many local charities, hosting musical events. As a musician myself, losing another live music venue in the area will impact local musicians and the community.

Tim Cutler (Christchurch, 2022-08-13)

#934

I believe strongly in community businesses and events they hold to the joy of many. I do not think it is appropriate for a minor part of the community who like to have no contact with neighbours, or watch businesses grow, are allowed to cause so much damage to a rural place where many people rely on hospitality for their livelihood

Lexy Long (Lymington, 2022-08-13)

#941

I fully support Martin and the good work he is doing at The Crown. Since taking charge he has worked tirelessly to make The Crown public house a community friendly meeting place and as such the pub is now the hub of the community and is a invaluable part of Everton village. It is almost unbelievable to accept that a small amount of NIMBY's can undo all the of the hard work and effort that Martin and the staff at The Crown have achieved.

Mark Nicholson (Everton, Lymington, 2022-08-13)

#944

Music brings people together

Jake Chambers (Ashley new milton, 2022-08-13)

#946

I'm signing because live music in pubs and clubs is a good way for people to associate and make friends particularly good for people who are new to the area or live alone

Toni Davey (Bournemouth, 2022-08-13)

#947

A community needs support and together we can overcome many things. Live music at The crown is such a drop in the ocean but people need to appreciate the efforts put in by public to want to do better for everyone! A single silly woman not wanting too louder music once in a while doesn’t warrant a medal for shutting it down…. Shame on her

Jonny Vernam (Hordle, 2022-08-13)

#950

a lot of these people are folk who are put on this planet to moan.........they will be complaining in there head weeks before an event , even tho they moved in near a pub........just shoot them xxxxxxxxx

dean robbins (child okeford, 2022-08-14)

#951

the pub was there before the complainant's moved there. The music is in the afternoon and there is only 6 TENs. The rest is inside.

Thorogood Steve (Torquay, 2022-08-14)

#957

I see no reason at all that the pub cannot hold music events that will benefit the local community plus charities because of a few local complaints. Martin has made it clear the timings and days of the music is on and will keep monitoring the noise levels. I hope he succeedes and wish him luck.

Lynne Bogue (Fleet, 2022-08-14)

#964

I like music

Carey Morton (Torquay, 2022-08-14)

#965

I am a supporter of local fundraising events and local artists these things are much needed following 2 years of COVID

Caroline Holdaway (Lymington, 2022-08-14)

#966

This is happening at other pubs and clubs where they buy houses nearby and expect silence and no one to enjoy themselves not even children!! Most of the time it is their second home.
Supporting the Crown who supports our charity during Poppy appeal

Jean Barras (Lymington, 2022-08-14)

#968

Visited this lovely pub whist on holiday and loved the atmosphere

John Corlett (Weston-Super-Mare, 2022-08-14)

#972

I feel the music makes a good contribution to local life and the noise once a week is not a great inconvenience for the neighbours.

Peter Henderson (Lymington, 2022-08-14)

#974

Because this is a great pup and a stupid complaint.

Jazmine Chew (Everting, 2022-08-14)

#977

Live music needs support and encouragement.

Gerald Colverson (Southampton, 2022-08-14)

#981

The minority ruin it for the few. It happens at everywhere and at airfields also. Some people are insistent on complaining and only because of their own petty issue in their own minds. In reality a few hours of live music has a hugely positive impact in a community.

Russell Barnes (Southampton, 2022-08-14)

#983

This is a great local in the heart of the community - an endangered thing sadly.

I don't live locally but use the pub whenever I can because Martin, Claire and everyone are providing a fantastic amenity.

Local people should appreciate what they've got and use and enjoy it to preserve it rather than trying to stop an important and valuable part of a pub's role - to promote music at grass roots level.

I'm campaigning for my local pub to start having live music!
A bit of noise in return for helping the hub of the village thrive?
Sounds a bargain to me!

Mark Jones (Fordingbridge, 2022-08-14)

#985

I like live music

Ollie Thorneycroft (Poole, 2022-08-14)

#986

I’m signing to stop the Karen’s of this world from ruining honest pubs providing fundraising to worthwhile causes and promoting local music.

Matthew Read (Bournemouth, 2022-08-14)

#987

One of the few local pubs trying to help the community with some vibrant fun afternoon times, together with fundraising for local charities. It should also be noted that after the Covid days these rate paying businesses need support not just from the locals but also NFDC, without this help, if the business fails, we the residents will lose a valuable asset, charities will suffer a short fall on income and worst of all Martin and the team may not be able to continue financially in the business.
Does the fact that 4 complaints lead to such harsh conditions, the pub has been there for so long and before these people, fully aware of its presence, moved into their homes, the old adage of “Caveat Emptor” comes to mind. (Buyer beware)

Fleming Fleming (Hordle, 2022-08-14)

#990

Live music and public houses are an important part of our cultural life. Living near to an existing public house who are working closely with the local council to abide with noise regulations should not add weight to any complaint simply by living nearby, in comparison to the enjoyment of many other locals enjoying the mental health benefits of live music and socialising. Similar to living near a railway or airport...you have to expect some noise now and then.

Gavin Courtie (Wimborne, 2022-08-14)

#991

Martin has worked hard to make this a successful pub. Those who enjoy the music far exceed those who complain. It's unfair and needs to be allowed on a reasonable basis

Martin Hayles (Farnham, 2022-08-14)

#992

The pub is one of the things that attracted me to the village many years ago and Martin has transformed the pub into a buzzing, thriving part of the community. Live music events not only supports the pub but also local musicians and charities and brings the village together and it would be such a shame to see these events stopped

Mary Read (Everton, 2022-08-14)

#993

The crown is a vital part of the everton community and the village would not be the same without it. Martin has made it into a thriving pub and it is the best it's ever been. Most pubs have live music so can't see why our pub can't too

Becky Bishop (Everton Village, 2022-08-14)

#995

I'm signing because this is happening all too often. Someone moves near an established venue and starts complaining about the noise. This can end in the venue stopping what it is there to do, entertain, or closing completely. This is bad for the venue, the artists, the staff and the customers.
If people want peace and quiet, why move next to a noisy, thriving pub , bar or other venue?
