KEEP CASH NOOSA COUNCIL

Comments

I am signing because I believe we must have cash for the sake of many transactions that can not be compromised by digital failure. I also believe there is a cultural value to cash in tipping choices and roadside fruit and veggie stalls etc.

Steve Weis (KIN KIN, 2023-11-11)

#203

I want to keep cash as an option to use when I want to. Also taking away cash could result in catastrophic fails when technology fails.

Rebecca Heath (Noosa, 2023-11-11)

#204

Cash needs to be kept as a first option not the last!

Andrew Dauncey (Brisbane, 2023-11-11)

I’m signing because I don’t believe digital currency is viable. If the banks aren’t working they can stop me from obtaining my own money. They also charge dearly for every transaction. Cash is the only currency we can RELY on

Tracy Drent (Kin Kin, 2023-11-11)

Cash has no technical difficulties

Russell Luck (Cootharaba, 2023-11-12)

The money in my bank account is money, which I have earned . The government doesn’t own it, the banks don’t own it, I do.

Scott Freeland (Lake MacDonald, 2023-11-12)

Cash is King! We should have the option

I am apposed to digital ID and associated economy. If in future Noosa Council (NC) refuse to accept cash I will not pay anything until they do. Cash is legal tender in Australia and I believe NC do not have the authority to change that Federal Law.

Brian Garner (KIN KIN, 2023-11-15)

I wholeheartedly agree with every point of this petition. Cash is essential.

Katrina Dargie (Tewantin, 2023-11-16)

It is simply legal tender, and should always be that way, it is already such a pain in the neck when internet is interrupted, and then what?? Total chaos! You can depend on Optus to do that for us! Everyone should be made to have the capacity to accept cash, the only reason they don't want to is because the banks are making it hard to use. The banks also should be forced to provide cash facilities...it's why they even exist, to provide that service, but service is not a word that banks know any more, it's all about profit, not service!

Michael Chapman (Cooroy, 2023-11-20)

#238

We should NEVER take away the legal currency of cash!!

Kym Carter (Sunshine Coast, 2023-11-20)

Cash needs to stay..it's legal tender and yesterday's optus outage is the perfect example as to why we still need cash. We do not consent to you removing it as a source of payment and you work for us. So you need to do as we wish.

Tenneille Williams (Dagun, 2023-11-21)

#246

Cash is instant, easy & works when there are power outages & no added transaction fees.

Liz Webb (Kin kin, 2023-11-28)

More and more data breaches. More and more telecommunication failures mean "electronic payments NOT accepted". CASH MUST REMAIN AS THE MOST BASIC SYSTEM OF PAYMENT. NEVER FAILS. CASH IS KING

Peter Welman (Tewantin, 2023-12-04)

This is a violation of freedom of choice and restricts the options available to Noosa Council customers.

I'm signing because cash is honest and tangible. I choose resist the cashless economy because of potential corruption and control without cash.

People need a choice!
We are NOT a communist Country
Communist PEOPLE are told what they have to do.
No we love our people
WE WILL GIVE THEM THE CHOICE!!!
Without THE PEOPLE everything STOPS!!!
CASH IS KING AND I ONLY USE CASH
NO CASH NO PAYMENT
Simply really!

Linda Wagner (Noosa, 2023-12-26)

I’m signing this because I have NO trust in the current Australian Government that they will continue to use our legal tender currency. As a consequence I request the Noosa Council continues to accept our legal tender currencies for payment of its services.

Michael Shaw (Noosaville, 2023-12-31)
