I'm signing on behalf of my son Adam who doesn't have a Facebook account.

Martina Quinn (Kildare, 2021-01-09)

#203

Course not complete. There should be assessments for the remainder of the year and results should be judged on the work they did for the last few years. Also they should be told immediately as they are stressed and worried

Mary Lehane (Mallow, 2021-01-09)

#205

My daughter has her junior cert this year and is so worried and anxious not knowing what is happening

Martina Ryan (Nenagh, 2021-01-09)

#206

My Son in in junior cert year and from March in 2nd year until the start of 3rd year they have been doing Google classroom which is helpful but not the same as been in class with the teacher and now again they are out of class .... while the school is doing all they can to support the students its still not the same.

Roisin Furlong (Dublin 10, 2021-01-09)

#209

I’m signing because I think this exam is long dated and should no longer exist but now especially in these extraordinary times when school hasn’t been operating fully over the past year .. assessments from now on.

Agnes Russell (Limerick, 2021-01-09)

#211

My daughter is in 3rd year and I fully agree that all this uncertainty is causing a lot of stress. Junior cert students deserve clarity the same as leaving cert students.
My son was a 2020 leaving cert student and I understand how people think they should be a priority but both junior and leaving certs are high pressure exams and the students shouldn't be left in limbo about them.

Tricia Murray (Navan, 2021-01-09)

#215

These exams should be based on continuous assessments. So old school. This needs to change

Karen Murray (Kells, 2021-01-09)

#216

I’m signing because it’s not fair on the kids , too much school time missed. They don’t need more stress than that already feel.

Noeleen Saunders (Dublin 10, 2021-01-09)

#218

I am a Junior Cert student and I agree with this petition,Norma Foley and government have to take into account we missed so much of the cycle we are never going catch up,and as a student there is to much pressure on us,its not good something needs to be done and done now

Amy McDonnell (Carlow, 2021-01-09)

#219

I strongly believe these students are right, covid has changed everything.

Clare Cunningham (Kildare, 2021-01-09)

#220

My daughter is a junior cert student and is also very keen to know if she will be sitting the junior cert exam or is it going to be predicted grades

Valerie Walsh (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#224

My daughter is junior cert year

Claire Howe (Lusk, 2021-01-09)

#230

I agree with the author of this petition.

Sarah Butler (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#236

My daughter is doing her leaving don’t think exam should go ahead

Joyce Osullivan (Clonee, 2021-01-09)

#238

My son has missed a large part of last year and now again this year the course has not been fully delivered we cannot expect them to do exams when they hand not had the same course as previous years

Gillian Steele (Ballybay, 2021-01-09)

#239

My daughter is due to take her junior cert and the anxiousness the not knowing is ridiculous. They have missed so much time.

Amanda Mc Garry (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#246

My son has missed so much school in 2nd year and now has to work from home and the internet is so bad. Also he has enough fear and anxiety with covid as it is, can they not just use their CBA's??

Trisha Ryan (Birr, 2021-01-09)

#247

I feel it is very unfair to expect the junior cert to go ahead as the kids have missed so much. CBA's have not been done as kids not in class and they are "classroom based assessments " practical projects not completed. They have missed much more school than last year junior certs and they sat no exam.

Carmel Costelloe (Limerick, 2021-01-09)

#249

Because my daughter is in junior cert

AnnMarie Lally (shannon, 2021-01-09)

#250

I'm signing because I have a child in 3rd year and another in 1st year and I am worried how this has impacted their learning not only that but how it is impacting them mentally by teachers telling them " you need this for your exams".. How can they learn if they are only going over work assigned to them they are not learning anything new.

Lisa Galligan (Killucan, 2021-01-09)

#251

My daughter is a Junior Cert student this year & clarity is needed as to whether the exams will go ahead. This decision is needed as soon as possible because these children as anxious enough about home schooling again & the added pressure of exams is unnecessary.

Wendy Dowling (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#254

My daughter is due to do her junior cert and has missed way too much school between last year and now this year

Lorraine OMeara (waterford, 2021-01-09)

#255

My son is doing it

Rachel Gaughran (Dunboyne, 2021-01-09)

#256

I'm a parent of a jr cycle student. I believe the government has an ideal opportunity to move fully away from these 2 huge state exams and move fully to continuous assessment.
Sitting through the full exam this year is simply unfair as they've missed nearly a quarter of learning time.

Jessica Woods (Monasterboice, 2021-01-09)

#260

I'm a parent of a junior cycle student and A leaving cert student. The both sit these exams in 2022 & I believe the government has an ideal opportunity to move fully away from these 2 huge state exams and move fully to continuous assessment , and sitting through these full exams this year is simply unfair for this years students as they've missed nearly a quarter of learning time. Its time for change. Mental health is more important.

Jean Barnicle (Cranmore,Partry, claremorris co.mayo, 2021-01-09)

#263

My son is in JC this year, stressed and anxious about an exam that holds no relevance to his future.

Denise Madigan (Quin, 2021-01-09)

#267

I feel the students have missed out on so much of the curriculum and just feel they are under so much needless stress at the moment. Every student has different home situations & struggles that learning from home is not always possible

Annette Murphy (Dublin 24, 2021-01-09)

#275

I am signing because I agree with you

Patricia Horkan (Meath, 2021-01-09)

#279

Because my son is doing his junior cert

Imelda Gibney (Oldcastle meath, 2021-01-09)

#282

I don't believe that with all this crisis going on that students will get a fair chance to be and do their best .too much stress to put on young shoulders

Margaret Andersen (Artsnr, 2021-01-09)

#283

I have a daughter in JC this year and it’s unfair to expect her to do these exams with all that’s been going on.

Genette Hamilton (Mayo, 2021-01-09)

#284

They have missed to much of their school term this year to have to sit the junior cert

Libby Sherry (Monaghan, 2021-01-09)

#285

I'm signing because my son is supposed to be sitting his junior cert this year and we need answers now!!

Michelle Ryan (Cork, 2021-01-09)

#290

My son will be doing his junior cert in june and I feel he wont be prepared for it as the format stands

Shóna Kennedy (Inver, 2021-01-09)

#293

My son is due to sit his JC this year and I feel they gave been treated terribly unfairly during this whole thing. They are being forgotten.

Sheila Moore (Tipperary, 2021-01-09)

#294

My son is jc

Grainne Roche (Cork, 2021-01-09)

#295

Every individual deserves to enjoy the junior cu or experience- learning new skills, growing both physically and mentally, being creative, etc. and this years 3rd years have not experienced the full “new junior cycle experience”. They’ve panicked trying to do CBAs through remote learning, missed out on some CBAs, spent a large chunk of time outside of the classroom and therefore, when they were back in the classroom, the focus was on and they were stressed, their teachers were stressed. These amazing individuals deserve somebody to care about their feelings, and mental health.

Chelsea Hudson (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#299

My son is in junior cert year . And we dont know anything about it . All ways mentioned was leaving cert .

Clodagh Power (Kill, 2021-01-09)

#301

It’s unfair to go forward with these exams

Adrienne Hulsman Quinn (Dublin 24, 2021-01-09)

#311

I want a change in the jc

Oisin O'Domhnaille (Navan, 2021-01-09)

#312

Health is more important than any exam.

Caragh Duggan Duggan (Co Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#315

My sister is a junior cert student

Leonie Crowley (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#318

I signed because there was not enough learning covered and missed opportunity to learn from being in pods - in theory they are good idea but people ask questions in class , which those in the pod miss.

Naoise Flynn (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#319

I am signing this on behalf of my son who suffers from anxiety and dyspraxia he is so stressed out about where he stands.

Lovina Mckiernan (Ballina, 2021-01-09)

#321

My son is in junior cert and is stressing about sitting the exam in June with all the work they have missed and to do home schooling is not helping. Just let us know what will happen in June

Sharon Cafolla (Mayo, 2021-01-09)

#330

I would like the unnecessary (this year) JC to be cancelled now to alleviate stress and anxiety for these students

Karen Caffrey (Co kildare, 2021-01-09)

#339

My son has Autism & the anxiety levels since last March has been through the roof & at this stage with the tooing & fooing, I would prefer he doesn't have to sit the exams as his health is much more important

caitriona Grennan (St.mullins, 2021-01-09)

#340

It’s also important that there is clarity for Junior Cert students as there has been no public mention of their exams to date within current lockdown discussions

Tracey Despard (Julianstown, 2021-01-09)

#342

I'm signing because my daughter is a student of the jnr cycle and this pandemic has already disrupted last year and is causing a lot of stress and anxiety in these already vulnerable children.

Tina Clarke (Letterkenny, 2021-01-09)

#347

My daughter is a 3yr student. The not knowing about exams and the fact they missed so much schooling last year.

Helena Harcourt (Castlebar, 2021-01-09)

#348

Not fair to sit a state exam in schools during a worldwide pandemic. Maybe could do it online securely

Sadhbh O Brien (Hunterstown ardee, 2021-01-09)

#353

Its so unfair to expect children to sit exams they haven't been prepared properly for. They missed so much last year and have had to adapt to a new way of learning with social distancing, masks, not always in the classroom and now home schooling again

Laura Kearns (Gorey, 2021-01-09)

#355

With our children missed out on so much school in 2020 and again now in 2021. How on earth can you expect them to study catch up and do JC exams... Alot of children have missed out on many points.

Jacqui Moran (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#359

I am signing because I have a daughter due to sit the junior cert. Leaving aside covid it was always going to be much harder on students as its 1st yr of new tests. The teachers were struggling to get their heads around the new curriculum and than covid hit. Its a complete joke, they haven't even had sample exam papers to work off and mocks due to be 1st week of Feb???? This needs to be cancelled.

June Boyle (Coolaney, 2021-01-09)

#361

My daughter is also due to sit her junior cert this year. She missed so much last year, her school chose not to provide face to face learning last year and since returning in September has suffered so much teacher absenteeism with no substitute teachers. Continuous assessment is more suitable with the worsen situation around the world. Relieve stress from young people where we can.

Deirdre Murphy (Lusk, 2021-01-09)

#362

I'm a Post Primary teacher and fully agree that Junior Cycle students are at a disadvantage this year for their exams.

Colm H (Kildare, 2021-01-09)

#363

Students deserve a voice especially during these unprecedented times.

Eileen O'Leary (Cork, 2021-01-09)

#364

I need to know where my son stands and what we have to work towards.

Anna Cormican (Galway, 2021-01-09)

#369

Because Junior Certificate students have been left in the dark, barely mentioned and just left in limbo.

Dorothy Leonard (Cavan, 2021-01-09)

#370

I have two sons in exam years and the uncertainty is very stressful

Louise Devlin (Greystones, 2021-01-09)

#374

My daughter is due to sit junior cert. current stress out weights the benefit of exam. Curriculum not nearly covered, huge teacher absenteeism since September, exam papers only printed now.

Morgan Murphy (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#376

I have a JC and LC student this year.
The exams are outdated and need change.
Not to mention the terrible uncertainty each student is feeling which will have a significant mental health fall out.

Emma Greene (Julianstown, 2021-01-09)

#379

LC and JC students are under enormous pressure and are being left in the dark about exams . Their mental health is suffering as a result of COVID and the dept of education are only adding to this issue. Put their health first and listen to what they feel is the right thing for them.

Mary Somers (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

#385

So unfair they have missed so much and online isn’t the same

Jenny Hand (Carlow, 2021-01-09)

#388

i don’t want the jc to go ahead. we are not prepared lol.

aisha cafolla (dublin, 2021-01-09)

#395

For my daughter in JC

Janna Clarke (Headford, 2021-01-09)

#398

Things need to change

Arundel Jacqui (Bray, 2021-01-09)

#399

Its to much stress for 14/15 yr olds who have missed months of school and are missing more

Aoibhe O brien (Waterford, 2021-01-09)
