We need to protect our wild spaces for all our wildlife and our children.Anna McLeod (Maple Ridge, 2020-11-24)

I've lived next door to these lands for 20 years. If City Officials truly think that this is a good area for a business park, then they truly are doing our community a disservice.
But look around the community, and it's glaringly obvious who council is influenced by, developer money, not sensible growth.

We must keep our green space, the animals, the peace and tranquillity it brings. The green belt behind our house is why we moved here!Gail Gingera (Maple Ridge, 2020-11-25)

I support this petition because the natural landscapes in our city are quickly disappearing under the lobbying pressure of developers when their focus should be on urban development of the downtown core. I have seen first hand for twenty years the salmon, owls, frogs and wildlife that have called the Yennadon lands home and it would be heart breaking to see all that go under the shovel when it could be preserved as a sanctuary. Save the trees and while you're at it, save the natural beauty that is Maple Ridge. Thank you.Jeff Gingera (Maple Ridge, 2020-11-25)

We should not be building on land that is necessary for nature to thrive. Houses and condos can be built elsewhere but we will never replace natural environments once they are gone.Linda Briggs (MAPLE RIDGE, 2020-11-26)

We must leave large green spaces for animal habitats. Humans cannot develop all spaces. We are not the only part of ecosystemGuinevere Jaco (Maple Ridge, 2020-11-26)

I’m young and i NEED to grow up with a planet, and developing that land would just mean more people in maple ridge, which we don’t need, and it’s extremely harmful to the wildlifeCaitlin Forster (Maple Ridge, 2020-11-26)

I am concerned about the wildlife and green space in Maple Ridge. The population increase in Maple a ridge is too high already. We don’t have the infrastructure to deal with more people.Andrea Schaal (Maple Ridge, 2020-11-27)

I worry for the future of my children and my children’s children! If we don’t do something now to stop climate change there will be nothing left to save. This is a very real problem and the days of doing nothing are over. We must all act and do what we can to save this planet! Stopping development at Yennedon is just a start, but it will make a difference. Animals deserve their natural habitat and a chance to survive in it. We develop these areas and then get upset when wildlife invade our homes, they are always the ones who lose. When will people realize that we NEED these untouched, undeveloped areas so WE can survive!! If not for the animals (who deserve our protection) then isn’t it worth doing for us? Wake up people!!!Karen Toddington Schwartz (Maple Ridge BC, 2020-11-28)

I am in favour of any lands being protected to ensure wild fauna and flora and animals have a habitat. This area is unique between the two rivers and its historical area is of benefit to all of maple ridgec jensen (Maple Ridge, 2020-11-29)

As a teacher and author, I moved to Maple Ridge six years ago because I believed this to be a community that cares for wildlife, trees, and nature. I do still find this to be true - the people do care, as this petition demonstrates - but City Council has made it seem as if nobody cares at all. Yennadon lands are NOT empty - they are already inhabitanted by bears, deer, owls, eagles, hawks, fish, bees and other wildlife. By developing this land, you are taking away their homes, and that isn't right. Already the bears have little to eat because we have taken away so much of their habitat, and then they get shot because they come looking for food. This is a crime. It is the city's responsibility to CARE for our wildlife and wild areas, and to HELP them thrive, not take them away and turn them into an industrial wasteland.Darlene Schmidt (Maple Ridge, 2020-11-30)

Our poor wildlife in this are in trouble . I look at our expansion on 240 th and see how hard the bears are trying to live in an area that was once their habitat and a beautiful one at that ☹️Linda Beare (Maple Ridge, 2020-12-03)

I oppose this development in this area as it does not make sense for the community. I am not opposed to development or further services but have a review of other optional areas and early involvement with the communities.Derrick Wong (Maple ridge, 2022-08-03)
