Why would you remove something that gives so many people a place to go to remember loved ones who are no longer with us because of suicide?????

Val Aherne Harding (Charleville, 2020-11-03)

#204

Absolute joke if this is removed all the hard work that has been put into that mural and all the hard work that the suicide awarness project has done for the town of charleville

Damien O gorman (Charleville co cork, 2020-11-03)

#205

It is doing no harm to anyone there, and is admired by many people. And great to see it in a public place not to be hidden away

Kathleen and Ger O Rahilly (Co Cork, 2020-11-03)

It is a disgrace that it is even a thought in peoples heads to remove the mural and move the tree. Its the centrepiece of the town and a testiment to all who were not strong enough to stay here with us.

Sandra Fitzgerald Moloney (Limerick, 2020-11-03)

I support this motion

Our deceased family and friends should be remembered, not too much to ask for ! .

Matthew Twomey (Limerick, 2020-11-05)

Have these families not suffered enough?

The wall murals and the tree of hope are such an important part of the town. A town that has been grief stricken with suicide for as long as I can remember. It is a place for families to remember there loved ones and share support and encouragement with other families that have gone through the same heartbreaking grief.

Meadhbh Murphy (Limerick, 2020-11-05)

I’m signing this petition to save as many lives as possible. With the state and pressure of the mental health services being unable to even begin to cope, every help is needed for the desperate souls who feel they cannot go on. I don’t live in Charleville anymore but my family do and my friends. Please do not take this away from our people. Thank you.

#300

I agree 100% it should not be removed

Kathy Walsh (Charleville, 2020-11-09)

#306

The councillors who want this removed need to find a hobby.. cop onto themselves...

Olivia Maguire (Limerick, 2020-11-10)

#313

I have no idea why the council want to remove this but as someone that has had neighbours, friends and family who have lost their lives to suicide I strongly urge them to leave it as it is. With everything going on in the world, right now especially and with suicide rates increasing people need to be reminded that there is always hope, someone to listen and that they are not alone and those murals do exactly that! They are also a reminder to all of us that have lost people we love to suicide.

Caroline Cronin (Charleville, 2020-11-10)

The wall, bench and tree are a significant and important for the people of Charleville. The areas are consistently maintained and respected. They are part of the heartbeat of the town. Any development works should incorporate all of these and not exclude them. What use is development if it isn't to benefit the people of the town?

Marie O'Halloran (Charleville, 2020-11-10)

These are a light at the end of a dark tunnel for people

Joe Power (Limerick, 2020-11-10)

#335

It's something I feel passionate about and like looking at, as it reminds me of how strong I am now and how suicide is a permanent solution to a short term problem, and that help is available and speaking from my own personal experience with mental health issues I think people need this and the words I say to myself when things get on top of me and overwhelm me " i would prefer to have 12 people judging me than having 6 people carry me"

Michelle Manning (Churchtown, 2020-11-10)

#337

Because we are one of the highest rates of suicide in this country nd more needs to be done !!

Teresa Galvin (kerry, 2020-11-10)

I lost my brother to suicide.

Anna Hartnett (Limerick, 2020-11-10)

#355

Now more than ever.
People are struggling with mental health, especially due to anxiety surrounding Covid 19, loss of employment, issolation & fear.
Suicide is only increasing in Ireland.
A display such as this, remind people its ok, not to be ok. Above all, to reach out for help & support.
Suicide awareness displays/memorials reduce the stigma, associated with mental health.

Geraldine Hennessy (Co.Limerick, 2020-11-11)

#356

It is a great cause and it highlights the issue of suicide. Also it is a recognition of all the people we have lost through suicide

Noel Sherman (Charleville, 2020-11-11)

#358

I think its beautiful and might give people that have lost someone through suicide a little peace and for people with mental illness a little bit of hope 🙏🙏

Annamarie Horgan (Cork, 2020-11-11)

#360

Mental health needs to be more of a priority not something to be erased and hidden at the whim of anonymous officials in an office
Councils proposal is completely insensitive and insulting to all who have lost a relative to this blight of suicide in North Cork and through out the country as a whole

Brian Whitfield (Mallow, 2020-11-11)

#367

I'm signing this to respect the wishes of those that have sadly lost a loved one to suicide.

Deirdre Bluett (Kilmallock, 2020-11-11)

Donna Coughlan (Dublin, 2020-11-13)

This really holds a special place in my heart as I lost my 13 Yr old sister to suicide few years ago, along with many others who lost loved ones through suicide in the town, this needs to be kept as alot of work went into it, the town cant take this away from the pool who it means so much too

Claire Dillon (Charleville, 2020-11-14)

#392

Not enough help out there for people, it’s an absolute disgrace 😡

Lucia Fay (Coolock, 2020-11-14)
