Help Stop The End Of A Big Part Of My Family Our Dog Boof.

I am against putting pets to sleep.

Boof should be given a second chance such as behavioural training or containment requirements.

Heres the story:

Boof and the other dog were both on leads during a walk at night around 9 p.m. to prevent incidents. Despite this, when Boof turned a corner, the other dog approached him and sniffed his face, which led to Boof attacking. The other dog required veterinary care, and Boof’s owner covered the vet bills. The other dog is alive and well with no life injury’s.
Boof was seized Brimbank City Council at the end of February 2024, three months after the incident. When Olivia from the council took Boof, she assured the owners that Boof would not be put down. She mentioned that the case would go to court and that the owners could retrieve Boof once the court proceedings concluded. The owner every week visited Boof and made several calls to Olivia to inquire about the court date and to express concerns about Boof’s well-being, including pressure sores and overgrown nails. Olivia ceased communication with the owner.
On June 27th, Boof’s owner attended court, where the judge ruled both dogs at fault and mandated that boof wears muzzle on walks. The judge also required payment of vet bills, but the pound fees were waived. Following the court decision, Boof’s owner attempted to contact Brimbank City Council on June 28th, July 3rd, and July 8th, but received no response. They have since begun sending emails to the Brimbank City Council, the mayor, and, as of August 2nd, their local MP. On August 2nd at 4 p.m., Boof’s owner received a letter stating that they have decided to destroy Boof.

Boof has never done such thing before he is great around the owners grandkids and the owners daughters huskies.
Boof is 5 years old.

Brimbank City Council has NOT and will NOT speak to us regarding this matter.
I did everything right by the LAW while owning a pet dog.
BOOF was on lead!
