Fun Facts everyone should know.
I am a family member of a BPD officer and I can't count how many times I have sat down and spoken to him about the corruption that goes on at Bloomfield Police Department. I will remain anonymous due to the fact that Chief Kovacs, Lt. Scott and all their "minions" love to retaliate against anyone who speaks out against them, for this Administration believe they are all powerful and should not be questioned. My family member, himself, has told me countless amounts of time how he has heard comments about how they do not and did not want a "fagot" for a Sgt. and even thought Officer Brown tested high during his assessment for the Sgt. position the admin and their followers did not want to promote Officer Brown because he was openly gay. My family member has told me about several time he has heard rude and crude comments about Sgt. Brown due to his lifestyle. This petition sickens me because this has nothing to do with the publics trust, it has to do with a way to fire Sgt. Brown. They are just using the public to do so. Its also a fact that after Sgt. Brown was put on leave for FPD's investigation and cleared BPD started their own investigation because they were hoping he would not have been cleared. After the two investigations failed and they had nothing more to try and terminate Sgt. Brown wit they turned to this. I'd also like to add that my family member informed me Officer Calder and Officer Brown tested for Sgt. at the same time and when Sgt. Brown was promoted Officer Calder was very upset and began filing complaints against Sgt. Brown in hopes that if they demoted Sgt. Brown he would be next in line for the promotion. The one thing about police officer in every city is they like conflict. It makes their day to find a bad guy somewhere somehow and if they can't find one on the streets they turn on their own. I know that most of the officer and all of their Administrations do not like officers they cannot control or are not like them i.e. straight, white males. This attack on Sgt. Brown is not just against him its against other members of the police dpt. as well. I have been told of the things they have done to the only female they have working there. She also was accused of things by the Adminatration there in hopes to get rid of her and she has had to fight back to keep her job. It's sad how this has turned out. People against one man who was cleared from these accusations not only once but twice and is still being judged. Believe when I tell you all this, those who have signed this petition, you are being used. You've been told it's because of the concerns for the public but what's really going on is you are puppets doing the bidding for someone who is just upset he was passed up for a promotion and for an Administration office who are liars, haters and who are arrogant. It was brought to my attention that Chief Kovacs made a comment recently to one of the petitioners who signed that this might be what they finally need to get rid of Officer Brown so you tell me what the real facts are. I also want to comment on how certain people are using scripture to drive their point home. Throwing Gods name out there to sound like you are doing the right thing doesn't make it right. I do not condone Officer's Brown lifestyle choice nor am I saying he is completely innocent but did God not say to love one another (hate the sin not the sinner). Don't twist the word of God to suit your needs. I also believe God's word states that vengeance is his not ours. Most of you posting make is sound like Officer Brown was lurking across the street preying on children. Waiting to attack like a predator but what it sounds like to me was he was lied to and acted on what Officer Brown thought was to be true. I think instead of judging this one guy on his actions we should be looking into the entire police department and the actions of the administration office and why the City Council has not stepped up.

I agree with you completely on this and I 'am so glad you took the time to write this. To have an inside perspective of the department is what was needed in this situation. The City Counsel needs to step in at this point and investigate that department for they will be just as guilty and held civilly liable in any court action that could come from this incident. Thank you for coming forward. I hope the admin never finds out who your spouse is to retaliate against him for shinning the light of truth upon them.

I wouldn't be so quick to defend the female officer. I know she made some of her own accusations that were false against other BPD members.
