Many were just as badly looked down upon. Daniel O'Connell made it clear where the fault lay as he pleaded for help in Westminster. He told them in no uncertain terms that, if was up to the ordinary people's generosity, the Irish problem would be solved . He went on to say that unfortunately it was the generosity of the Parliament that was needed. The common man will never be accused of the crime by this administration.
