Being arrested as a repeat offender in Plett is a minor speedbump to being back at it a day or two later. Releasing repeat offenders a day or two later is not solving the issue.

While this situation is abhorant, resdents in town have at least the SAPS, AND the many security companies to protect them. Places like Kranshoek with over 8000 residents at last count to not even possess a 24hr SAPS office. The office here is only manned in daytime.. HUH? We are at the very mercy of these criminals. They will steal anything not concreted down, and then even if it is sometimes. They do this with the full knowledge, that the SAPS 4 hour response time, s only if their are vehicles available to ride ALL the way from Kwano,,,through TOWN, then on to Kranshoek, A round trip of 30KM. WHY? WHY? WHY? Is it not possible to link New horizon to Kwano(2 km) and link Kranshoek to Town(7km)? Whoever dreamt up this absurd, wasteful and ludicrus system, should be fired. While whoever remains in charge and does not change it, should be fired also. Beyond belief.

It is criminal that repeat offenders are getting bail and perpetrating more crimes whilst on bail.

Crime is related to unemployment. I understand that we cannot accept crime, but we also have to work on reducing unemployment and start job creation in Bitou. My own employee's tell me that all their neighbours have lost their jobs since Xmas. Are we actually doing something in Bitou or are we just complaining!

Make a suggestion and then we can work from that, in the meantime we cannot accept crime invading our lives and repeated offenders walking our streets , released on bail to commit the same crimes over and over again

I live in Santini Village not far from an open plot of land. We have witnessed a number of attacks and BLATANT criminal behavior being exhibited in FULL view of public within meters from a local nursery school (which has been broken in to COUNTLESS times)and security guards and a big housing complex...NONE of these are a deterrent any more. When speaking with the police, I can only sympathize with them - they are OVER WORKED, and crime has escalated so quickly that they cannot keep up if they tried. The emotional trauma it is putting on the police services can only be negative.. Plett is under siege in a huge way, this cannot be ignored any longer!! This is just the tip of the iceberg! We need to band together as a town and make this beautiful town safe again.

We need a court in this town, how can we have our police sitting in Knysna all day for a court case, please listen to us......also no bail for repeat offenders, we see this last case the criminal had just got out of jail, they just do not stop with their criminal ways. Please listen, we are begging you.

It is vital to the safety of every resident of Plettenberg Bay that all aprehended criminals face justice for their crimes and not walk to happily commit the same crime again

The restoration of the courthouse in Plett must be given top priority.
