The Greenbelt was put in place for a very good reason. The people here have chosen not to live a large urban sprawl and felt the Greenbelt gave them that protection. The impact on the infrastructure of the whole town will be enormous and ugly.

I am concerned about the impact on local infrastructure, and believe green belt should be protected

We have to retain our green spaces for the future. Eventually we will need them to grow our food. Further, Chesham will struggle to provide the extra support systems such as schools, doctors and roads, for such a large increase in the population.

I signed it because once land like this is built on it is lost forever and there are still plenty of brownfield sites around the area which should be used first. Developers don't like these because they may have to spend time and money getting the site ready to build on but they should be made to do it. Also, once built the houses should be available to those who want to live there not buy to let landlords hoping to make a quick buck.

Lye Green has many safe country walks radiating from it which will be built over and also Chesham roads are horrendous with cars and potholes as it is ,without extra traffic being added. Why is this lovely part of the country going to be ruined ?????

National Planning Pokicy Framework.
87. "... Inappropriate development is, by definition, harmful to the Green Belt and should not be approved except in very special circumstances ". The selection of this site ihas been made without any identification or justification of any "very special circumstances". Green Belt should be protected not destroyed.

The infrastructure doesn't support the people who live in Chesham now without adding another 900 homes whether on green belt or not so I say no to this plan

I signed the petition because Chesham doesn't have room for all the extra cars - parking etc Drs Dentists schools overcrowded and most importantly sewage it would be gridlocked on St Mary's Way

Raw sewage is already regularly released into local waterways as the system cannot process it, how the hell will they cope with 1800 new homes! Not to mention destroying beautiful surrounds, this is a joke; perhaps if we all refused to pay council tax they might pay attention to existing residents concerns!
