Busking is an artistic activity, so much part of the Irish tradition and mentality. Please prevent these insane bye-laws from materialising!

Busking is a major part of the musical culture of Dublin and these continued attempts to remove buskers from our streets is a disgrace. And the idea of charging struggling musicians for a license to perform, while millionaire stars like U2 avoid tax every way they can is scandalous.

I shouldn't even have to sign a petition such as this! This is totally discouraging to the arts, and buskers deserve at least the attempt of making of living through their love of music.

One of the reasons we visit Temple Bar is to listen to the music and feel the spirit of the people. Particularly enjoy Joca

Temple Bar and busking are inextricably linked Liam Owens.

Why try to take away the only redeeming feature of the cultural wasteland that is Temple Bar?

Having busked in Temple Bar and seeing how much people (tourists and locals) enjoyed it, I believe it would be an idiotic decision to ban it....

I do believe amps need to be restricted, especially on grafton street. But banning busking is literally outlawing something that has been the beating heart of dublin culture

The buskers are a major part of the Temple Bar experience, especially for attracting visitors. Without the street entertainers the place would be lose its very special atmosphere and character and become much less interesting. I used to be a resident of East Essex Street.

AMEN!! Whats the point of banning something that tourists and locals alike love to see and hear.. talk about wanting to suck the joy out of life.

After living more than a year in Dublin I have to say that the busking culture is something that makes the city beautifully unique.
The artists in Temple Bar, Grafton street, Henry street, etc..., are somehow the soul of the city itself.
Please support this petition and keep Dublin alive!

Busking is integral first of all to the ' Temple Bar Experience' for visitors coming to this country, second to the musicians/ artists themselves to have a platform and thirdly for me and other Irish people as sometimes there are really good buskers in Temple Bar and they directly contribute to making it an enjoyable and bustling space.

I've busked on the concertina all over Ireland and in other parts of Europe. I am totally against these kinds of restrictions. It just isn't feasible for travelling buskers to get permits in every place they visit.
