Urgent Request for Load Shedding Exemption - Lynnwood and Menlo Park Area

To Whom It May Concern,

We, the residents of Menlo Park and Lynnwood, urgently request the City of Tshwane to grant us an exemption from load shedding until Tshwane addresses and resolves the persistent power disruptions that occur after every load shedding schedule.

Once again, we find ourselves without power in Menlo Park, Lynnwood, Maroelana, and Alphen Park. The situation is becoming increasingly intolerable.

Not only are we dealing with the inconvenience of load shedding itself, but we are also experiencing frequent power interruptions just minutes after load shedding. These interruptions prevent us from adequately charging batteries for our security systems, inverters, power banks, and more. These disruptions are severely impacting our homes, our families, and our small businesses. We also have individuals who are unwell and young children who cannot endure extended periods without electricity.

Our primary concern lies with the Lynnwood substation, which serves as our main source of power. It is evident that there is a serious issue at the Lynnwood substation that demands immediate attention. These interruptions occur at the Lynnwood Substation itself, and the individuals who attempted to rectify the problem were sabotaged. Consequently, they had to withdraw for safety reasons, leaving us without a solution to our problem for many days now.

We implore you to urgently address this critical matter of concern. Granting us an exemption from load shedding will provide some relief while Tshwane works to resolve the underlying issues causing these disruptions. The continued inconvenience and impact on our daily lives are unsustainable.

We kindly request your immediate attention to this pressing issue to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply for our community.
