T2200 for RNS employees
March 10 2020
To RNS,
This letter is to ask that RNS reconsider its' position on issuing T2200 forms to its employees. It was a great shock to everyone when it was announced that these forms would no longer be provided. The form was considered by us to be part of our remuneration package, as it provides us with a higher household income, through tax savings. We recognize that there may be some cost administrative cost to RNS, but believe it to be offset by the savings provided to its employees.
we all work hard to make RNS one of the pre-eminent home are providers in Ontario. In order to do our jobs properly, we need a personal vehicle to ensure we get to our clients in a prompt and efficient manner. In fact, we were told when hired, that we needed "access to a reliable vehicle."
we all love the work we do and value the great relationship we have with RNS. It is also greatly appreciated that RNS provides is with a travel subsidy, but that subsidy does not nearly cover the outlay of vehicle cost, maintenance, insurance, licensing and gas.
There are of course, other costs associated with our jobs at RNS. We should be able to claim those requires costs on our taxes; such as the requirement to get a TB test every two years, police clearance fee every three years, and cell phone. We all do our best to present to our clients in a professional manner by wearing uniforms. The cost of the uniforms could also be mitigated if we were provided a T2200 form.
The travel subsidy afforded to us and the payment d travel time RNS give us the knowledge that our employer does care about us. Issuing us a T2200 form would underline that understanding.
Once again, we would ask that RNS re-evaluate this decision. We believe there is still time to rectify this issue for the 2019 tax year. Thank for all you do for us.
We look forward to your response
