I am signing because as a patriotic zambian citizen I strongly feel it is my duty to secure the perpetuality of the sovereignty of local zambian seed varieties against any possible alterations both artificially and or naturally especially by human attempts.Kenneth Phiri (Livingstone, 2024-05-14)

Am signing because there is no need for it in Zambia. We already have 2007 bill on seed. We can not have two laws for the same thing.Annie Chikanji (Chongwe District, 2024-05-15)

I am signing because our food systems are worth protecting and the rights of small scale farmers must be protected from the profiteering interests of corporations. Seeds must remain a part of the commons as they have been for generations. The privatization of commons must never be placed above the rights of those who have inherited seeds from their forefathers. Family farmers have the right to keep seeds, grow seeds and share seeds as part of their cultural heritage and human right, without any undue competing interest from external corporate driven interests. Science and business pursuits must never be weaponised against indigenous knowledge systems.Timothy K. Phiri (Lusaka, 2024-05-15)

The bill does not respect the sovreinty of our country, it is focused on making money at the expense of the Zambian people, and will recolonize us.It will contribute to Environmental degradation( it has negative effects on climate)

The Draft PBR Bill must be withdrawn entirely by government. It threatens Zambia' s Food Sovreignty and serves foreign interests .
The whole process has lacked transparency.
WIthdrawing the Draft PBR is a matter of national security and national interest.
PBR ACT NO 18 of 2007 is adequate and there is no need to repeal it.
I agree with the Petition against the Draft PBR Bill.
NO TO THE DRAFT PBR BILL.

Zambians, I urge you to be aware of the potential risks of the globalist agenda to control the food supply. These contaminated seeds and processed foods could harm Africans and potentially affect farmers and animal breeders nationwide. Some individuals are worried about the push for GMO and mRNA-compliant crops and the use of special fertilizer keys, which could lead to a cycle of dependency and financial burden. Let's work together to promote sustainable and equitable food systems that benefit everyone.Reston Ngosa (Lusaka, 2024-05-16)

Am advocating for revive of indigenous seeds that our parents were using and helped the small-scale farmers to recycle some seeds and still harvested something. And this Bill if enacted will actually destroy local initiative that we are advocating for amid climate change.Ezra Banda (Lusaka, 2024-05-16)

The bill, if it becomes law, will lead to extermination of our climate resilient indigenous seed and knowledge, and enslave our people to seed breedera syndicates. We are aware that these hybrid seeds do not reproduce on subsequent replant. This bill is against all we want to achieve in climate resilience.Muyunda Lindunda (Lukulu, 2024-05-16)

We need to preserve the rights of local small scale farmers who provide essential bio diverse seeds that are climate adapted, of nutritional value and can be shared without legal consequences. Traditional growers provide a large portion of the food to Zambia and allowing multi national seed companies to control Zambias seed and or genetically alter that seed would be a far reaching disaster for Zambia. The current bill is adequate and the new proposed bill only benefits international corporations and not sovereign individuals. This could have far reaching consequences across Africa. Zambia needs to stand fast against international restrictions and regulations. Thank youAlice Fircks (Mkushi, 2024-05-16)
