I am a concerned resident of Klipkop, over the last 10 years I have watched the area degrade, the lane in question plays a major part as it connects Ravensmead with klipkop and serves as an easy access and escape route for the criminals on foot when being cased by cars.

I am signing this petition because the alleyway leading into Klipkop from Ravensmead is being used as a easy getaway by robbers and gangsters. Many residents are being robbed on their way to and from work daily. It's extremely unsafe for our children who have to pass that alleyway on their way to school that is based in our area as well for our elderly. I have had a personal encounter whereby items have been stolen from my property.

I am in full support for the alley way to be closed as the residents of Klipkop has been most negatively affected by it remaining open with thieves using it as a quick escape towards Ravensmead after stealing, robbing and breaking down within Klipkop. The argument that people need it to get to work can also be shut down as most people from Ravensmead do not feel safe to walk through the alley way. Please close it down ASAP

"Die Gangetjie" is a big safety risk to pedestrians walking home from school/work, Parow Centre to Ravensmead & vice versa being followed to the lane & being ambushed in the day and at night. It's been happening for years where the thieves will rob people and runaway through the lane. The lane is also used for wrong reasons such home burglars & opportunists will vandanlize & steal things and run away through the lane as cars cannot go through there while chasing suspects.

It's a pity for the people who use it to have it closed but it's safer to divert everyone to Del La Rey Main Road walking past Builders Warehouse and Pick n Pay Local Qualisave.

The lane is the most entrance and exit point for thieves, robbers and murderers. Yes they shot a person dead, this time in the lane 2 months ago.

We have asked numerous times to please help us.
Steeking Gate motors, pool and water pumps, goods from yards and burglaries are on the menu for us every day.
Many people in the streets are robbed going to or returning from the shop. Nurses using the security gate at The Diggs are the main target being robbed on shift change.

Victims don't report cases any more because it does not get registered, because of the lack of ability to find these perpetrators.

Klipkop IS NOT A GREEN AREA as the stats are showing.
