Im in full support of the initiative, for me to pick point challenges we facing I wont be doing justice to the profession, but I would suggest Mr President a Commission of Inquiry to the challenges that we face as Social Service Professionals they are way too many.

I am signing because i want change as we work very hard day and night in the GBV CC and we are paid peanuts and our office environment is not conducive for any employee as we have 1 toilet that service about 60 people which is not healthy at all. Our centre is a 24/hour centre which even overtime is not paid for, we don't even attend workshops even though we work on the national office. There is no resources, stationary, department email, nothing and the worst part when we try engage our superior to intervene they take is personal. There is a lot happening in this centre we need serious intervention in order to work and deliver the services out there. Thank ypou

I sign this petition to allow social workers to be employed is been over 6 years without employment, it becomes depressing for one to go to school trying to improve their situations hence after receiving the knowledge no employment is available.

There's a saying that "education is a key to success" but it's no longer that for social workers in south Africa....

(Tzaneen, 2018-03-04)

#1468

We are being exploited,underpaid,overworked

(Mokopane, 2018-03-04)

#1470

Because I agree with the above mentioned. I am tired of living in poverty while employment. I feel like resigning every day and the only thing that stops me it's the little stipend I get. I may be employed but on the 20th of every moth I'm broke and I have to borrow money. At times I regret being a social worker because I feel they are the lowest payed employed people in South Africa. To all those social workers who are working abroad...We don't blame you, thank you for putting your lives first.

#1497

We study for 4 years and we end up volunteering as if we went to college to study a certificate course. Government must create jobs for us so that the value of this profession countinues

(Pretoria, 2018-03-04)

I have advocated for care and protection forvulnerable persons, I have advocated for family preservation. Mr President you said you want to be there, we must send you, though we know clearly SSPs are the ones who will be sent to prevent social crimes, to ensure child justice is enforced, you will be sending SSPs to be there for victims of domestic violence, you are going to send us to be there for persons living with HUV/AIDS, for people who are struggling with substance abuse...in Parliament Mr President and other MPs continue to making great speeches of what you hope for RSA, though forgeting to acknowledging that SSPs are there ones who can ensure these hopes become a reality

Validate the worthy of our profession.

There is no support from management towards SW. One would work for 5years and more in the same position. Senior level after 10years. Permis u have ti motivate why u delivered good work and stil dont get recognition. We short staff..little resources..and still u need to work like a headless chicken. When u in the red u stand alone without no support from yr seniors. The management put procedures in place but then bully u in doing the oppersite of procedures they put in place to cover them but what about the staff below.
