Camping and tourism should open, it is the heart of our country and we cannot keep everything closed forever due to the virus. The risk is much higher to get the virus in shops, schools, workplaces than at any camp sites and or nature reserves , national parks.Ryno Jones (Centurion, 2020-06-28)

We manufacture Skipper Tent Trailers and this lock down is effecting sales dramatically, we will be forced to put our staff on short time this week therefore affecting 12 households.....We are campers ourselves and cabin fever has set it, we need a change of scenery.......
What about caravan park owners ....it is affecting their income and staff households too......this snowball effect is detrimental to all sectors of camping.

We are regular campers, and our "retirement plan" involves full-time camping as an alternative to kicking our adult offspring out of the house. So, camping is critical to the health of our familial relationships.Jacs Bate (Durban, 2020-06-28)

I cannot see the reason for lockdown on camping sites anymore! What is the difference between sport, shopping, camping etc?It is your own responsibility to be safe.........

Leisure camping can be done while abiding with all the COVID19 precautions. Owners of camping sites are suffering because of lack of income. To be out in nature is an extremely good way to fight negativity and depression - many struggle with the long time being stuck at home.Eulogia Murray (Kenton-on-Sea, 2020-06-28)

I am signing this petition as there is no rational basis on which to not open camping sites under controlled conditions. My caravan has got it's own built in shower and toilet. There is no need for me to share ablutions blocks. I will at all times maintain social distancing.
If day visitors can share toilets then campers must also be allowed to do so.
For a start I request that camping in one's province should be allowed.

I am signing as i do not believe that camp sites are concentrated. Most sites (although ajoining) the caravans of tents are 10 meters apart. Campers normally stick to themselves. If there are steps to keep social distancing and cleaning of toilets and showers after use there is little risk of spreading covert.Rene Rupping (Randburg, 2020-06-28)
