Winston should not be euthanized for protecting his owners. Would the intruder be euthanized if he killed Winston or his owners 'No'.

(Sydney, 2017-09-12)

#1207

This is disgusting Mackay Council! Poor Winston does not deserve this!

(Sarina, 2017-09-12)

#1210

In this day of such human disrespect and violence .... we all need a winston, he was only doing what a good dog should

(Palm beach, 2017-09-12)

#1212

I very strongly agree that if you enter a property illegally and there is a dog protecting his property, you get what you deserve. To charge the dog or the property owners at all is just wrong in every sense of the word. Please see sense and free this dog. There is such a problem in Mackay with criminal activity we all need to protect our property the best we can.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1213

Dog was just protecting his property. That's their duty to do this.

(Mirani, 2017-09-12)

#1219

Winston was only doing what he was taught to do and that was protect his family....

(Gargett, 2017-09-12)

#1221

It's unfair and no process has been undertaken to prove the incident. If someone is trespassing then a dog who sees the trespasser will defend their home. It is the trespasser who should be fined and charged. This type of behaviour sets a prevent that all dogs are dangerous for defending their home and pack.

(Sydney, 2017-09-12)

#1223

This dog was protecting it's yard and the person whom allegedly got bitten was entering a private property in the middle of the night without permission and should be charged with break and entering, possible stalking, intent to do willfull damage or intent to theft.

(Rockhampton, 2017-09-12)

#1224

This is wrong! Winston is a hero!

(Sarina, 2017-09-12)

#1226

What the council is doing to Winston and other dogs for protecting their family and home against intruders is in-humane, wrong and needs to be stopped. These poor dogs are doing nothing wrong but protecting their family and the council is putting them down and giving out ridiculous fines. (To the council) Fix the city and do something that actually matters instead of destroying families.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1228

The dog was protecting its own property from intruders

(North Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1229

Winston was doing his job. Why was thos person lurkung around inside winstons yard at an ungodly known hour of the night/ morning. He was doing his job and protecting his family INSIDE his yard.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1232

Mackay Regional Council think they are a law unto themselves. Break ins in Mackay are at an all time high and this dog was protecting his family. Leave the poor dog alone and catch the bloody criminals

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1233

Im signing because this is rediculous!! Council had no proof winston is a dangerous dog and what dog wouldnt protect his property and family from intruders! The intruders are the ones in the wrong..lock them up for attempt break and enter!! Council needs to wake up to themselves

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1237

What right do the council have to destroy someone's family member. It makes me sad to live here

(Walkerston, 2017-09-12)

#1239

That's one of the reasons we get pets. To protect us. If this dog bit an intruder he was just doing his job. The intruder can go suck a lemon.

(Mudgeeraba, 2017-09-12)

#1240

It is so easy to blame the animal than to direct the fault to the human. I'm so sick of dogs being destroyed because they protected their own family and property.

(Melbourne, 2017-09-12)

#1247

That dog done its job

(Airlie beach, 2017-09-12)

#1251

This dog was protecting his family. Seriously, how about the intruder is put down. The fact that the dog is on death row is absurd! Give the dog a medal.

(Bundaberg, 2017-09-12)

#1257

The dog is doing his job leave him alone! Hes done nothing wrong.

(Bundaberg, 2017-09-12)

#1262

It doesnt sound right to do this .... the puppy was protecting his yard isn't it the reason we have dogs shame on you

(Marian, 2017-09-12)

#1267

It doesn't matter whether the intruder was a "respected member of the community", a thief, the Queen, or the Pope... bottom line is they shouldn't have been trespassing on this property. If they were looking for a person or a pet of their own, they knock on the front door and speak to the occupants, they are not entitled to enter the property which is not theirs. The dog was doing his job protecting his home and family. He has been proven to be a lovely dog, release him to his family!!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1271

This dog was doing his job, protecting his family. The intruder needs punishment not the animal.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1272

This dog does not deserve to die!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1278

I'm signing this petition because Winston should be praised for his duties and not be put down.

(Sarina, 2017-09-12)

#1279

It's not the dogs fault! Trespassing is illegal

(Morayfield, 2017-09-12)

#1281

The dog was protecting its family and that's what they do, there ain't no difference with a dog protecting its family than a person protecting their family. People need to stop killing animals for doing the same thing I would do or anyone else for that matter. Besides that piece of shit person should not have been trespassing so if Winston dies for protecting his family that piece of shit person should die for trespassing. God bless you Winston and hope you succeed

(Rocherlea, 2017-09-12)

#1282

Everyone needs to feel safe and protected in the own homes/property. Winston was doing his loyal job in protecting his family.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1286

This is disturbing. He was an intruder. The dog was probably trying to protect himself and his family from this threat. I hope Winston goes free.

(Rockhampton, 2017-09-12)

#1287

It's utterly ridiculous, disgraceful and what the hell is this world coming to when you can't even protect your own family and property.

(Bowen, 2017-09-12)

#1291

Its not the dogs fault and there shouldnt be someone walking on to your property in the middle of night. His seizure should not go on what he said she said. Let him go...!!!

(Marian, 2017-09-12)

#1292

A pet has a right to protect their property from intruders! How dare any government remove a family pet and threaten to put them down from protecting their home! Where is the justice for the family who's home has been violated? Counsel has a lot of nerve to play judge and jury! Shame on you!

(Beaconsfield, 2017-09-12)

#1293

The council are a disgrace the poor dog was doing his job. It's a family pet and the kids will never forget the council killing their dog

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1297

This is so wrong free the poor puppy ... i would expect the family dog to protect and he did.. what an absolute joke

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1299

Council should be fining the intruder!! Seems Winston is not the guilty one here.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1300

The dog was protecting owners property

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1301

Too many dogs are being put down because they are protecting their family and their home. Don't just blame the dog, if the person is where they shouldn't be well that's just tough. He was trespassing, dog was protecting his own.......end of story. No need to put the dog to sleep because this bloke was doing something he shouldn't. Everyone is always quick to blame the dog and not investigate, who knows, he could have even hurt the dog first.

(Louth, 2017-09-12)

#1304

My yard, my dog, my protection. There needs to be an overhaul in all legal systems and laws/fines. A clean out of people in jobs with out dated ideas and a complete disregard for 'working for the good for people'

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1314

If someone came uninvited to my property I would commend my dog for protection!

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1316

I think its wrong with what's happening, the dog was doing it job protecting his family

(Kuttabul, 2017-09-12)

#1317

If my dog bit a intruder i would be proud as that is what I have one for!! her job is to pretect my kids and my property, this is so wrong on all level why are we protecting crimals more than the innocent, Sad !!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1318

I want proof this dog is dangerous . Looks to me council has got it very wrong

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1321

This is ridiculous! This dog is a family dog, he protects he's family. No stranger should wander into somebody's yard at night. Release him free!!

(Proserpine, 2017-09-12)

#1324

Dogs have the right to protect there family

(Yeppoon, 2017-09-12)

#1326

For a dog to be put down for doing its job is wrong fair enough if the dog was out and about and bit someone. If someone tried to get in my yard or house my dog would do the same

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-12)

#1328

The dog was protecting his home

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1330

This dog did the right thing in protecting his family.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1331

This dog should be alowed to protect its home and its humans

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1333

This thug has no right to upset a pet dog and aggravate it to the point where the dog was left to defend it's self. Put the intruder down, he is more of a threat to society than this family's pet dog.

(brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1337

I believe if someone enters my property after dark without permission then my dog or myself have a right to attack the offender !

(Caloundra, 2017-09-12)

#1338

I am not believing the story of the thief. This dog has never got out and cannot he was let out. Why should a dog die because of a lying thief. People need to not touch others property full stop.

(Sarina, 2017-09-12)

#1341

Free this dog back to his family, what is the world coming to where your dog can't protect your home and family without risk of euthanasia? With the amounts of break in around mackay at the moment we need our animals to be on alert. This dog was simply doing its job. I urge the council and local laws to free Winston back to his family and start asking why the intruder was on the property in the first place, instead of putting it into the too hard basket. Animals do not have a voice, who is going to speak up for them?

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1342

The dog was only doing its job and protecting its family from a scumbag who came into the yard uninvited. Would you like to be killed for doing your job. Bad when the criminals get all the help to do what they want.

(Mirani, 2017-09-12)

#1343

The intruder was at fault! The dog was just doing his job :(

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1345

So Wrong! The dogs a hero

(Melbourne, 2017-09-12)

#1346

This is disgusting...the dog was doing his duty....what, criminals get away with murder!....that's what it will be for this dog......I would expect my dogs to bit intruders

(Karangi, 2017-09-12)

#1349

The dog was protecting there family !

(Marian, 2017-09-12)

#1350

It is wrong to kill a poor dog that is just acting to protect its family. Disgusting.

(Airlie Beach, 2017-09-12)

#1354

There should be more dogs like winston he was protecting his family

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1355

This is a ridiculous law! The dog is friendly until and intruder tried to break in. We should all be proud of the dog instead of killing him. No dog should be seized without proof let alone put down.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1356

The dog has every right to bite someone who is intruding onto its property. Don't be an intruder and you won't get bitten!!!! Simple!!! Free Winston!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1359

Dogs protecting their homes should not be something to kill them for

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1360

Because it's just wrong. He was doing his job. I would be proud if my dog protected my home like this.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1362

I am signing because the dog doesn't deserve tobfir

(Blackwater, 2017-09-12)

#1363

This dog should not die for protecting his family, councils are a disgrace. Free winston.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1367

Winston has done the right thing by protecting his home. How does sn intruder get more rights than the dog who done what he was supposed to do!!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1370

He was protecting his home n family.release him, is unfair.seems a very loved dog

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1371

Isn't it obvious however are the Council now going to be liable if the house is robbed - as they will have removed their defense ???

(Logan, 2017-09-12)

#1372

Evidence is needed
Dog is doing his job
Trespasser is at fault

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1373

Winston is a family pet, if there was an intruder that supposedly got bitten then that person should not have been in the yard to begin with. The dog would be protecting his home and owners and was most likely startled by the intruder. Free their family pet!

(Ingham, 2017-09-12)

#1374

Alot of us get a dog to protect our homes n our families

(Maryborough, 2017-09-12)

#1375

Free the dog and put down the intruder

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1377

I don't believe Winston should be put down for protecting his home from an intruder. Also, I find it disgusting that no proof is needed.

(Gladstone, 2017-09-12)

#1380

The dog did it's job. Why isn't the tresspasser the one getting in trouble ? What is wrong with the world?

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1386

This beautiful dog does not deserve to be murdered because he protected his home. Have a heart and review your antiquated laws. Each case of dog biting should be managed individually as to why the dog bit. Please save Winston. Thank you.

(Rockhampton, 2017-09-12)

#1389

If only we treated criminals with the same harsh penalties. This dog was only doing the right thing by it's owners and it's home. When will the law stop siding with criminals.

(Cairns, 2017-09-12)

#1391

I'm signing because this dog does not deserve to die it was doing it's job protecting it's owner and it's yard, killing it would be wrong and stupid.

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1392

This beautiful creature was only protecting his young family! The intruder should be fined not the dog!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1394

This is wrong, charge the intruder instead of harming the dog for protecting its property.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1398

The dog was protecting his property!!!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)
