It is crazy how long it takes for Justice to be served in our country . How many more Cwecwe’s are out there that we don’t know of? How many others tried the legal process and failed because the system is rigged?
How many had to continue to live in the fear of it happening all over again because nothing ever gets fixed or done? We cannot imagine nor try to comprehend what the family must be going through . So let’s not “ put yourself in their shoes “ this situation, but let us stand together not for a course or change .. but let us show grace and love and support and let the family know that their daughter matters and what happened to her should never have happened. Let’s show empathy. I watched the interview of her mom talking about what had happened to her and what stood out was that she didn’t respond when her mom asked her what had happened. He took so much more from her than just her virginity. He took her trust , her honour, her voice, her mind , her sleep , her appetite , her joy, her smile, her life that she still continues to live. He had no right ! He saw an opportunity . He took advantage of a little girl . He did it and he did it with no hesitation.
Who else knew about it?
How many saw something and did nothing?
How many more stories do we have to hear to do something?
Is it fair to everyone else that hold the same story hoping for a change?
Is it fair to every other little girl who is now robbed of her right to an education because of men in positions that feel the need to violate their rights?
This hit deeper than any of us ever imagined.
It hit home , every female is touched by this.
Listen to her, hear her story , see it for what it is .
