It does not serve us as Africans. We are fine without it . Thank you . African problems for African Solutions.

Patson Ncube (Falun, 2024-05-23)

#409

I care for freedom from multinational companies enslavement. Control of seed will lead to enslavement of emploverished communities who are already struggling.

Cosmas Lungu (Kitwe, 2024-05-23)

#423

Another angle we have look into is the corrupt seed companies making us fight amongst each other . Zambians must boycott these seed companies who are lobbying in the background and bribing state officials to pay this Bill through. SCCI is small fish...our governments are just mere pawns in the game...
Did you know that Bayer is the largest and most diversified seed company in the world, with a strong presence in corn, soybean, cotton, vegetable, and specialty crops. Bayer acquired Monsanto in 2018, which gave it access to the leading biotechnology and digital farming platforms.

Their agenda with other seed companies like Dupont, Limagrain and Syngenta is financial gain, profit and control. These companies are evil and will do anything by any means necessary. They will kill for money, they will destroy for control and they are reckless..it's like we are reliving the dark ages of colonization and slavery .

I'm signing this petition because this is evil, It's going to affect wellbeing of mankind and kill all the indigenous seed type, we can not afford to lose the God given seed and give up our rights to grow our own food hence my signing.

I am a small scale farmer who is aligned to organic farming, and saving seed for next season is an assurance of a genuine crop that won't need harmful pesticides to grow

Mutepa Kambobe (Chongwe, 2024-05-24)

#430

UPOV regulations undermine the ability of Zambia to evolve a food production system with use of local seeds that are naturally adapted for their local environment. Zambia needs no GMO's fertilized by US agrochemicals.

Alice Grossmann-Güntert (Brienz, 2024-05-24)

#431

seed sovereignty has always helped fighting rural access to food. This law will wipe out all indigenous food varieties in motherland to simply enrich multinational corporations with their fertilizer based seeds

Rev. Dr. Japhet Ndhlovu (Toronto, 2024-05-25)

#433

The new law does not protect Zambian and indigenous seeds against possible GMO seeds that have the potential to destroy Zambia’s livelihood and food security and sovereignty.
Every country makes laws that protects it’s people and their interests and foreign interests.

John Kafwanka (Kitwe, 2024-05-25)

#480

I believe in biodiversity and no seed restrictions.

Dr munali Liswaniso (Solwezi, 2024-05-28)

#483

I fear for myself and fellow farmers' possible inability to engage in sustainable agriculture, promote local seed varieties that can be reused, shared with those who can't afford yearly seed purchases or chemicals (to protect hybrid seeds/plants) disease resistant, hardy and much more healthy against most non-commincable diseases like BP, Cancer and diabetes that have become very common. Viva sustainable agriculture, viva local seed varieties & abash forced hybrid seed use.

Namakando Sikota (Lusaka, 2024-05-29)

#488

I am signing because it is not only unhealthy to human consumption but to environment too

Chali Tumelo (Lusaka, 2024-05-29)

#491

The proposed bill is treacherous, discriminatory, archaic, threatening farmers access to seed and seed rights, insensitive to cultural respect and above all takes away the right of choice to seed and thus in favor of our indigenous seed erosion where our pride is and fall.

Mambo Tembo (Lusaka, 2024-05-29)

#515

We need our God given and authentic seed to ne preserved for future generations

Delilah Kolala (Lusaka, 2024-05-31)

#521

Because I saw this happening in future, Europe know that our local plant species are medicine to our bodies as Africans and want to wipe out or replanting see so that they can have control of our food.
Control food, control the world is their aim..

William Lombe (Lusaka, 2024-06-01)

#525

I'm signing this document because, I love my country, such that I can't sell the freedom of my fellow Zambian. Farmers have the rights of keeping, sharing and improving the quality seed that we already have, but why should this simple task be handed over into the hands of fewer individuals to control us? This behavior of running for something new sometimes it doesn't benefit much, because we don't even know that better is not the best. Do we know the hazard that comes with such, be careful because some outcome of these certain things will cost our lives, our country and even our entire country citizens efforts. Am sorry my fellow Zambians I stand to oppose this selfish and weaked Bill set, meant to enslave our Country's economy and stability.

Cassius Zulu (Chipata, 2024-06-01)

Signing to repeal the bill will lead to the loss of the local gene of plants, increase the cost for farming and increase the poverty levels of the rural communities of Zambians, thereby increase birth of rural already poor people.

Victor Kangwa (Kitwe, 2024-06-02)

#539

I ‘m signing this petition because we need to keep our cultural indigenous seeds and plants for our traditions and identities of our future generations. We can’t kill our ancestors identities seeds for lab generated seeds other people’s ideas as opposed to our forefathers that’s not right in every aspects. We as Africans we do not impose our ideas on other nations, so why are being trapped into lab generated seeds that will ruin our indigenous soil and create food insecurity in our villages later on our entire African countries. Generated lab seeds is a loophole for economic exploitation or deficit for any country and organic farming practices is the future for both our health and wellbeing eradicating diseases and preventing poverty.

Chibuye Mwelwa (Lusaka, 2024-06-03)

#540

I'm a firm believer in upholding traditional and cultural norms and values
. am an heirloom seeds multiplier. I know first hand the advantages and benefits of cultivating heirlooms. They are nutritious, drought tolerant, more resilient to diseases and pestilence than hybrids and GMO seeds products. They do not require any synthetic fertilizers or inputs that are detrimental to humans and soil.

JOHN ABRAHAM Phiri (CHIPATA, 2024-06-06)

#558

I don't support the current draft bill of the plant breeders right bill because it wants to robber farmers there right to share and pass on the indigenous seed to several generations. Indigenous seeds are seeds that are drought resistant and carry cultural significance to the farmer, these are seeds that have helped several households to be food secured because they are easily accessible just by been shared from one person to another without incurring cost like buying from retails with the harsh economy the country is experiencing
