the balance between exams & anxiety due to COVID outweighs a common sense approach to deal sensitively with an alternative assessment, thank youNicola Hanratty (Julianstown, 2021-01-09)

I feel ur putting people at risk by sending them to do mocks and putting them under to much stressLara Frazer (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

i’m signing because we had 5 months off of school last year and we are now still trying to catch up on work. now that we have another lockdown with many more cases we are going to fall behind on work, as it is not the same learning online, therefore we should not have to sit the junior cyclesarah birrell (waterford, 2021-01-09)

My sons education has suffered as has most junior and senior cycle students. Just has become exempt from Irish for additional educational needs which he will not receive. He has no motivation as he thinks its too late for a game of catch up. Second year should be a very important year but didn't get to do very much.Mags Hunt (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

Uncertainty for anyone is stressful, added that children have had to adjust to pod systems in some larger schools but not all schools really does not allow every student to enter an exam on a level playing field, decisions however difficult need to be made quickly.Janell Callan (Drogehda, 2021-01-09)

I think it is adding to students mental health all the uncertainty. The vaccine rollout is very slow so it is unlikely to be a safe environment to sit these exams.Catherine O'Brien Bennett (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

My daughter is due to sit her junior certificate this summer, with the time the have already miss and the possibility of long term absence from school classroom learning, I feel it only fair to cancel these examinations as they have missed so much learning time and cba’s also. I feel for all concerned this matter should be addressed sooner rather than later and we should learn from the mistakes of last year.Niamh Place (Dublin 20, 2021-01-09)

I am signing because the Junior Cert need to change to assessment only. By putting the assessment over 2 to 3 years, it will help ALL children in the transition from primary to secondary to fulfill their needs, and not the few that are academically minded. It would help them achieve their goals, build their confidence, decrease their fear on failing exams. Change needs to happen nowMarian Nugent (Edenderry, 2021-01-09)

I believe its unfair to hold exams for student who have missed so much of the curriculum. The results would not be the same as they should be if they had been attending school full time.Shell Dixon (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

I am a currently 3rd year and as we have missed most of 2nd year and now another few weeks possibly months due to covid we have fallen behind in the work. We have done online classes but they’re not the same we cannot teach our selves. I would like for the Junior Cycle to be cancelled and to be done by assessment grades.Connor Moody (Ballyjamesduff, 2021-01-09)

Due to the disruptions in schools due to Covid 19, it’s unfair to ask students to sit an exam in the situation we are currently in!Amy Moriarty (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

i’m signing this petition because i agree with all the information above and i also thinks it’s unfair how we hear very little information about what’s going to going towards our final grade.victoria serlinskaite (Dublin, 2021-01-09)

because i agree with the fact that fellow students and i have not had enough time during the school year to have been in school and been taught by the teachers , a lot of people struggle and doing online school and home and it is completely unfair to continue with the junior cert as normal , this has not been an normal year but giving the students more to worry about is not helping them or their mental healthAbby Oneill (wicklow, 2021-01-09)

There is little to no clarity for JC students and it’s getting very stressful for most of us as of right now. None of us have a clue on what to do/study for while half of us are left with unfinished courses/topics and CBAS.Kaz McLoughlin (Dublin, 2021-01-09)
