It's wrong what the municipality had done to the residents. They need to be compensated and they need the reassurance that they willnt loose everythingWilliam McNamara (St.Catharines, 2020-03-07)

No form of government should be able to take away a person’s property without giving them fair market value. If it can happen here, it can happen any where.Rosemary Rose-Bruyns (Ingersoll, 2020-03-07)

What is happening here is not right or just. If people are forced from their homes they should be FULLY compeesated for what they are forcibly losing.Greg Elko (Calgary, 2020-03-07)

My cousin and his family are impacted, along with countless other people. Some sort of assistance should be provided for those folks losing their homes.Jan Dunnell (Stratford, 2020-03-07)

I’m signing this because my family has many memories in Erie Shore. This is sad to hear that the municipality is literally kicking the citizens out of their own homes and are not providing any compromises for them. They’re left to find shelter, and start over. My heart goes out to all of the Erie Shore Citizens.Justine Dodds (Wainwright, 2020-03-07)

I’m signing because my sister in law her husband and husbands brother next door will be displaced without compensation.Tony Stryker (Meaford, 2020-03-07)

This is so unfair for all residences living here and there may b no end in sight...everyone needs to know will this b fixed properly or will this b a quick fix and once again b made to move...please do not worry about the twin pad arena and use the tax payers money to fix this dyke properlySherry Crowe (Wallaceburg, 2020-03-07)

My good friend lives there, they have a mortgage and bills how do you propose they pay for a home and rent another place to live. Let’s be realistic they can’t.Jennifer Stuart (Kingston, 2020-03-08)
#449
I believe the municipality/province/federal government has a responsibility to these folk. They built the dyke, allowed property ownership for those who built on it. So, they need to either maintain it or buy out those to whom they sold portions of it.Randall Southen (London, 2020-03-08)

I’m signing because what the municipality is doing to all of the residents is NOT OK!Amy-Lou McGuire (Kent Bridge, 2020-03-08)

This is so wrong!Sharron Holmstrom (Chatham, 2020-03-08)
#459
I'm aware of the foot dragging our municipal government has done over the years in maintaining the dyke. They have done nothing until August of 2019. The homeowners on the dyke have been maintaining it for years while still paying high taxes with no thanks from the municipality. It's about time the municipality made this right!!Michelle Chabot (Erieau, 2020-03-08)
#460
I'm signing because taking homes away from people with 1 weeks notice is not human. Have you NO empathy? Shame on you! give them time and compensation. Disgusting!KEVIN GINGRICH (KITCHENER, 2020-03-08)

My dad's family has been living on that road for decades. We've had our family reunions at his cousin's house and watched the beach shrink. Their garage and house have been flooded and ruined. The municipality should have helped sooner.Kelly Karpala (Toronto, 2020-03-08)

The people in charge for years have been ignoring the requests to fix this problem from the very people they are now trying to screw over, hoping they will quietly go away. Nope.Dwayne Fraczyk (London, 2020-03-08)
#479
This is not ok I support the residents of Erie shore drive they must be returned to there homesSteve Zarebski (Chatham-Kent, 2020-03-08)
#486
No one should have to vacate their property due to poor maintenance of the shoreline by the county. I spent a few summers there with my friend when we were in high school, and had many great memories. These people have a lot invested in these properties, and it’s a shame that a blind eye has been directed to them.Cathy Larkin (Sarnia, 2020-03-08)
#488

Given that the city provided the people and or builders with permits to build on the dyke, is reason enough to compensate the people living there.Debra Maloney (Blenheim Ontario, 2020-03-09)

My brother's family cottage is in the evacuation zone. This land has been expropriated illegally. They can't protect their property with no access. A fix should have been done a decade ago.Nancy Forster (London, 2020-03-09)

I have a relative on this street and it’s just not fair what’s happening to them. They need compensation.Rachel Charron (Amherstburg, 2020-03-09)
#524
I’m signing because the municipality is more money focused than they are people focused and that is not how a position of power should be run. If they are going to vouch for the people, and say they are here for people than they need to show that through actions and not make every decision based on what’s the cheapest most indirect way to fix this issue.Larysa Ainsworth (Blenheim, 2020-03-09)
#530
I live on Erie Shore Drive and I have lost everything that I worked had and invested in! No should have the right to take away your property under the guise of declaring a State Of Emergency!! This is not new it has been talked about for over 20 yrs.Susan OBrien (Blenheim, 2020-03-09)

#533
These are people's homes who pay taxes like everyone else, and it is unacceptable to not have any access to your home and on such short notice. The Municipality needs to STOP being GREEDY and start thinking about their taxpaying citizens in this difficult time, lydia acchione (amherstburg, 2020-03-09)

#557
It is wrong for this Municipality to abandon these people. They need our help. There should be a new break wall built between the lake and the homes. That would protect the dyke.Jackie Girard (Dresden, 2020-03-10)

I"m signing this because this is an outrage. How can someone who has worked hard their entire life, paid for their house, and then arbitrarily lose it? Meanwhile provincial Cabinet Ministers receive a 14% raise.Rick Rakosy (Brampton, 2020-03-11)

I’m signing this because people deserve the right of their own homes without it getting taken away from them in a blink of an eye without no help or compensation. That is absurd.Star Al Salom (London, 2020-03-11)

The municipality of chatham kent stole my home and I am a Canadian citizenJudy Bonner (RR3 Blenhrim, 2020-03-11)
#580
I'm signing because I have friends that live on this street and I have enjoyed the shores for years and the township has always excepted those residents are tax paying members who deserve the same rights as all the other community members. The township should protect the homeowners and if they are not able to they should at the very least sit down and talk about financial compensation for the homeowners so they can keep enjoying what part of retirement and savings that they are entitled too. At least site down and talk and then ask the province for financial aid to help the Erie Shore home owners maybe. Also admit that some neglect on man built structures are failing. Just like a bridge over a highway..when it gets old you fix it. The township planned the neighbourhood. they should continue to maintain it! Do the right thing!Jason Tudge (London, 2020-03-11)
#583
I am concerned of the personal loss to individuals owning property surrounding lake. It is affecting a dear friend.Cathy O'Reilly (PTBO, 2020-03-12)

I’m signing because we’re loosing our cottage at 18218 Erie Shore Drive. My in-laws and previous generation have spent thousands maintaining, repairing and protecting this property. It isn’t right to just remove everyone and not compensate these people! Buy out the properties or fix our walls and beach!Mike Leblanc (Belle River, 2020-03-14)
