I am opposed to trying to force retirees into any Medical Advantage Plan

Marilyn Diamond (New York, 2022-03-16)

#4211

I am a city retiree who was promised health care to continue all through my retirement! I am now on a tight fixed income and can’t afford any new charges. I am in my golden years and need quality health care.

Felicia DeMasi (Howard Beach, NY, 2022-03-16)

#4215

I want to continue to receive the same health insurance and care I was promised upon retirement.

MARLA FELDMAN-MARESCA (Boynton Beach, 2022-03-16)

#4219

We gave up any significant raises in lieu of maintaining our credible health benefits through retirement and not to be dumped into a Medicare Advantage plan and all it’s undeniable misgivings.

William Geiger (Massapequa, 2022-03-16)

#4223

I do it wish to have my current Health insurance plan altered. Nor do I wish to be forced to accept any new arrangement s

Cynthia M Jones (New York, 2022-03-16)

#4224

I want to keep my current insurance but I can’t afford to pay over $300 each month! I live in Florida and the medical establishment is not familiar with the New York MAP.

Paulette Kliminski (Mount Dora, 2022-03-16)

#4227

The new map plan does not provide the needed coverage or benefits. Auths are a timely process. Many doctors. Hospitals will not accept this map. Not widely accepted out of NYC and many retirees have moved out of NYC.

Donna Sloan (Staten Island, NY, 2022-03-16)

#4229

I want to preserve what I have and have worked hard for

Jaymie Rodgers (Howard Beach, 2022-03-16)

#4230

I stand with the thousands of retirees who were blindsited by the actions of our union and representatives. Any changes should be contractual and in future tiers. We did our service and we deserve justice.

Barbara Pascarelli (N Massapequa, 2022-03-16)

#4233

The MAP should not be forced on retirees. I want to keep the plan I already have and worked for without penalties.

Nicholas A. DeStefano (NYC, 2022-03-16)

#4238

I’m signing because no one has the right to do a bait and switch type of tactic on retirees. In fact that could be considered fraudulent practices.

The fair thing to do is not to offer the insurance package to a potential new recruit- so at least they can accept or decline upfront without any surprises later on.

You don’t pull the rug from under us, after we already accepted low pay for years and tolerated many years without cost of living raises; we accepted this, so we’d have a somewhat decent healthcare benefits package for our future- in our older years when there are less choices for us.

While we’re on the topic of compensations, Social Security should also reconsider compensating a person who suffered a loss of a spouse- by receiving both their SS income benefits owed to them. This is money that they both worked for and paid toward for years. I never collected mine. This SS money was for our/their retirement- to meet those same household bills, same car payment, car insurance, gas, rent/maintenance, phone…I’d like to know where my SS money is being spent. It’s time for our SS policy to be changed to assist people who had a major loss- the state shouldn’t be making it more difficult for people like me in my situation …this is a big deal…we need more not less

Robin Tendler (NYC, 2022-03-16)

#4243

I’m signing because I have numerous health issues and need to keep my current doctors, as well as needing numerous tests and procedures without waiting for prior authorization.

Nancy Dunetz (Bronx, NY, 2022-03-16)

#4245

I signed on the line in 1989 where I was promised health insurance of my choice that would last the entirety of my life.I kept up my end for over 20 years. Also I just don’t like liars and people who believe they are slick and smarter than others

I’m signing because Medicare Advantage Plans lower the timeliness and quality of care from that of my current insurance.

Jeanette Roper (New York, 2022-03-16)

#4251

I spent 27 years with the NYPD. I never thought with all the givebacks we gave up, that you would now in our retirement years, take away our medical care.

David Strauss (Medford, 2022-03-16)

#4252

I EARNED THESE BENEFITS, I AM OWED THESE BENEFITS.

Kevin Enright (Bridgeport Ct, 2022-03-16)

#4259

I want to have a quality health plan. Being forced to get a referral is total nonsense as the Medicare Advantage ( Disadvantage is better name) is about. Garbage for all is not what we should settle for.

Laurie Dorfman (Plainview, 2022-03-16)

#4260

I need to retain the medical coverage that was promised to me when I was a fledgling teacher, barely making enough to support my family. It was an agreement then, and should be honored still.

Lynn Erenberg (Lynbrook, NY, 2022-03-16)

#4264

I worked at NYPL for 42 years with the assurance from the City that there would be no premiums for my healthcare for life.
Now the City wants all public service retirees to either join an inferior Medicare Advantage plan with no premiums or incur a penalty of $191.92 a month to keep traditional Medicare and Part B. No way!

Harriet Shalat (Forest Hills, 2022-03-16)

#4269

Preserve retirees health care options.

RANDALL BERRY (CAVE CREEK, 2022-03-16)

#4271

I want to Keep senior Care, without the extra cost, of 191.00 dollars a month. In conformance with the Administrative Code of the city of NY.

Sidney Schwartzbaum (Staten Island, 2022-03-16)

#4288

I was promised my health benefits, the one I chose, not the one chosen for me, for life. Your proposal is a breach of contract to say nothing about being illegal.

John Calderone (Mountainside, 2022-03-16)

#4312

I worked for CUNY for 19 years and was promised traditional medicare and GHI Senior care. 3 month after I retired Mayor de Blasio sold us out because he probably used the money earmarked for retiree health care for something else .

There are close to 250,000 retirees who worked long and hard for the City of NY and we should get what we were promised.

Patricia Boyle Egland (NY, 2022-03-16)

#4314

Good health care is a basic human right. After devoting our lives to educating and nurturing generations of students at CUNY, we deserve excellent health care.

Ingrid Hughes (New York, 2022-03-16)

#4319

Our health care is precious and we worked hard to earn it. We deserve to keep it!!

Wendy Herman (New York, 2022-03-16)

#4321

I want to keep the medical plan that I now have. I need the doctors who care for me.
Also, the communication about the new plan has been stressful and worrisome.
"Don't fix it if it ( our present medical benefits) isn't broken"

Ann-Jean Paci (Flushing, 2022-03-16)

#4322

I am very concerned about preserving my current medical plan and don't want it diminished. Having to wait for pre approvals, having someone outside my Doctor deciding if the requested procedure is needed is a concern especially as we get older.

Howie Reediger (Norwich, 2022-03-16)

#4323

I am fully disabled due to injuries and illness related to my years as a Firefighter. I rely heavily on my Medicare and have found that my providers do not accept advantage (managed care) plans. NYC is doing a terrible disservice to its retirees by not funding our Medicare plan.

Garrett Lindgren (Bradenton, 2022-03-16)

#4327

Don’t want inferior health care

David Russell (Point Lookout, 2022-03-16)

#4329

I need my benefit and my medical everything

Vivian Wright (Newyork, 2022-03-16)

#4331

Original promise should be kept, and raises for active personnel should not be on backs of retirees. Managed Care overrides doctor's most simple decisions.

John Rieley (BRONX, 2022-03-16)

#4340

NYC retirees deserve the traditional Medicare plus premium-free supplemental coverage that they were promised, not the substandard-for profit Medicare Advantage plan that the City is attempting to impose on them.

Michele Rayvid (Brooklyn, 2022-03-16)

#4342

I'm signing because the MAP PLUS plan does no favors for me or the rest of the teacher retirees in NYC

Michael Miller (Jackson Heights, NY, 2022-03-16)

#4344

I am opposed to destroying Medicare through privatization.

Andrea Lyman, MD, MSc, MS (New York, 2022-03-16)

#4350

I'm signing because I worked hard on behalf of our children and with their best interest always in mind. My pay was never that of neighboring areas but we were promised that our health care would always be what it is today without exception. I believed the city and their promises. Please make good on the promise today and don't leave those who worked tirelessly all those years with a mediocre health insurance when we most need it.

Monica Arcuri (NYC, 2022-03-16)

#4352

The City should not pursue the implementation of this very flawed unfair and illegal health plan.

Marsha Mantykow (Boca Raton, 2022-03-16)

#4353

I do not want to join a Medicare advantage plan.

Joanne Klages (Staten Island, 2022-03-16)

#4356

I dedicated 30+ years to NYC service on the understanding that the City would provide the same health coverage I paid for as an employee when I eventually retired. As a retiree, I cannot accept the City breaking this promise, or Mayor Adams breaking his own campaign promise to save retirees from the burden of enrollment into the Medicare Advantage plan.

Hal Keshner (Suffern, 2022-03-16)

#4358

I’m a dependent on my NYPD retirees’ health insurance. I’m on Medicare and need to continue with health insurance as it was.

Michael Lautato (Staten Island, 2022-03-16)

#4361

NYC retirees deserve the best healthcare possible. Changing to an advantage plan is not what we were promised.

Maryclare DeRosa (Holtsville, 2022-03-16)

#4364

I worked for the DOE for 34 and was told that I would have quality health care for life.
A MAP is not quality care.

Stuart Grodin (Goshen, 2022-03-16)

#4368

I cannot afford to pay for health benefits privately. I worked and dedicated my life to earn these health benefits by accepting a lower range salary for my work. Medicare was an assured benefit to me as part of my Paid Social Security withdrawals from my salary by the Federal Gov. I do not receive enough money in pension and social security to pay the high cost of Insurance for health benefits unless I stop buying essentials like food and rent. The threat by City and Union if I opt out of the forced Advantage plan is to impose paying for my health insurance at $400 a month for my spouse and I without including secondary insurance and prescription coverage gives me no choice. Being a disabled retiree and forced into a Beta group scenario is an unnecessary sacrifice I should not be forced to do.

Kathleen Napoli (Jackson, 2022-03-16)

#4372

I want to keep my current coverage!!!

Victoria Versace (Mount Vernon, 2022-03-16)

#4373

The City must keep its promises to its retirees when it comes to providing adequate Healthcare that WORKS and addresses the needs of individual retirees

Brenda Gambardella (Pleasant Hill California, 2022-03-16)

#4376

I cannot afford the pay out of pocket for my health care insurance by being disabled on a fix income.

Kevin Lonergan (Valley Cottage, 2022-03-16)

#4383

I'm signing because the change to our health care benefits, imposing a severe financial penalty if we do not agree and deliberately imposed after a 30 year career and retirement is blatantly unfair. The city and the unions have turned their backs and reneged on long-held agreements of service.

KL Calhoun (Brooklyn, 2022-03-16)

#4384

I worked for these benefits & they should not be changed.

#4393

Fed up with the way we’re being treated after working all our lives for NYC

Robert Quill (Spring Hill, 2022-03-16)

#4396

The City, Mayor de Blasio, OLR, and the majority of union leaders heartlessly targeted the most vulnerable and medically needy to effect savings on healthcare benefit costs. There were many other areas of the city budget where savings could have been achieved. So instead the City chose to save on the class of people with fixed incomes, who are already being hammered by historic inflation, need healthcare benefits the most, and the class of people the City knew had no representation, simply deplorable. The De Blasio administration went ahead and shamelessly picked on old age people and tried to force an unwanted, inferior medical plan on them as they rolled out the new plan in he most clandestine fashion. This is why I’m signing the petition.

Joseph Silecchia (Port St. Lucie, FL, 2022-03-16)

#4397

The MAPP plan is for profit and puts $$$ before the health of NYC retirees. If it’s such a wonderful plan, why not have retirees opt into it? In the meantime, leave our traditional Medicare and SeniorCare alone. Your lack of concern for the health of vulnerable retirees is glaring.
