I am signing because LPNs are STILL not treated as nurses. They are being burnt out too along with the RNs. Our scope has significantly increased and we have a lot more responsibility than we once did which does not reflect how we are treated and paid.

The evaluation is needed for proper compensation for the duties, responsibilities, and work performed.

As an LPN since 2016 I am struggling to find the motivation to continue in this line of work or to recommend this career path to others

I’m signing for my sister in law who’s one of these amazing nurses in our provinces who deserves more.

I’m signing because I am a licensed practical NURSE in the province. As a nurse I feel we are not recognized for our expanding scope of practice, and contribution to the healthcare of our population here in the province. We are simply overworked and undervalued. It is time for the recognition we deserve.

I am signing this because we truly do everyone's job as the middle man between pcas and rns and our wage does not reflect the same. I feel there should be specific pay for specific areas as well. We are doing everyone's job not only our own!

Maryann Ryan (Conception Bay South, 2024-04-06)

we deserve better recognition!

We deserve fair pay for our continously up-skilling and increasing responsibilities an RN would do.
Thank you to the LPN committee with NAPE and all other fellow LPN's who continue to work hard in our careers
Come on Government!! Step up and listen to us and do something about it besides the RN's getting looked after with their bonuses.
We LPN's need and deserved to be recognized as Nurses too!!!

I originally was a LPN in NL, being a LPN in NL I was not fulfilling my full scope of practice as a LPN. the scope of practice was very limited. And I was looked down upon. Also felt very defeated as to why I worked extremely hard. I learned and studied all different type of procedures and diagnoses but, I was not allowed to work with the ill or do any procedures within my scope that all LPNs work so hard to learn and abide by. Glorified PCA is exactly what I felt like, only difference was we handed out medication. Limited of course, no IV admin. We are Currently trying to change the outlook on LPNs here in Alberta too. Were allowed to work side by side with RNs having the same assignment, but still looked at as nursing assistants and as well the lack of pay. The Canadian Government needs a systematic change in a lot of areas and the each provincial government needs to look at this issue. Do better for nurses and maybe you’ll see less leaving the profession and more nurses staying.

LPN’s deserve and are worth so much more.

I’m signing because LPN’s play a huge role in the success of our healthcare system, interdisciplinary teams, and overall health and wellness of our province. The scope of practice and skill set is constantly growing and changing. Our job description should be reviewed to reflect what LPN’s are doing today.

It’s time for a new change!!!

Because the LPN’s of Newfoundland is working to their full scope , their duties is the same as the RN, but we are not recognize with the pay scale that we should be getting , LPN’s are overworked and have to take on the responsibility by themselves, it’s time for the LPN’s to be paid to their scope ,

Vivian Rice (Whitebay, 2024-04-07)

I’m signing because I desperately want to work as an LPN however due to childcare and day hours I can only work 8 hour shifts. It’s impossible for a lot of moms to work due to this issue .

Jennifer Carter (Paradise, 2024-04-07)

LPNs and RPNs deserve the pay and recognition Of their profession. A clear scope of practice defined and recognized in Canada.
