Small business help the economy grow and creates job opportunities

Judith ROUSSOUW (Cape Town, 2023-08-14)

#206

The pancake stall isn't threatening big brands such as Starbucks and the Muizenberg beachfront misses the pancake offering. We love his offering.

Claudine Gliddon (Cape Town, 2023-08-14)

#209

Because I care and enjoy going there.

Carl Köhne (Paris, 2023-08-14)

They are a favorite of mine when I am in the area

Christine Kenned (Cape town, 2023-08-14)

#216

The Pancake is my favourite way of supporting local business as opposed to big corporate coffee names. I always stop there on a Saturday after a run. Their prices are fair and the coffee good. As a supporter of business it would be good for me to understand the reasons why the permit has been denied so I can understand if I am shopping fairly.

Stephani Hope (Muizenberg, 2023-08-14)

#217

It’s my child’s fav place to eat at the beach, not to mention they feed the hungry and its job creation!!!!

#218

Yes

Cyndie Venter (Cape Town, 2023-08-14)

#219

The pancake is an awesome business and feeds a family. Here is a young man trying to create employment for himself and the city is obstructing this . There can be no good reason to not renew the permit.

Lyle Fortuin (Cape Town, 2023-08-14)

#221

I believe they are doing a great job! And creating employment. Therefore their permit should be renewed.

Marijke Willmott (Cape town, 2023-08-15)

#223

Quinten's Pancake business is the most popular business on Muizenberg beachfront and needs to have their permit renewed IMMEDIATELY!!! We do not support international franchises especially not Starbucks. We as Muizenberg customers and supporters DEMAND that The Pancake Man's permit be renewed IMMEDIATELY!! We support all small businesses that provide for families and those in need.

SAM & LYNN ORTON (TOKAI, 2023-08-15)

#224

The pancake was trading on surfers corner for years muizenberg is not the same anymore with out our pancakes an coffee an friendly warmly welcome from Quiton an his staff

#226

Quinton and his team has been part and parcel of the vibrant beach front for the longest time and it has always been a pleasure to support him. Please share the reasons why the permit has been declines.

Hanlie Gordon (Westlake, 2023-08-15)

#227

I'm signing because I ardently support the Pancake and coffee kiosk at Muizenberg. It not only serves good coffee and delicious pancakes but it has become a gathering spot for us beach walkers, a hot cup of coffee to warm the cold hands if early morning surfers but an icon for overseas visitors.
And what I most admire us that not only do Quentin and his team serve coffee with a smile but they serve their community. I have heard several stories now of people in need who have been supported and uplifted by this teams support and guidance.

Please dont send them away

Catherine Rodwell (Cape town, 2023-08-15)

Kayleigh Tuck (Cape Town, 2023-08-16)

#232

I'm signing because why would the local government want to take the food out of the owner's mouth. Please think of the owner and hos family. This is how he is able to put food on the table.

Amori Barnard (South Kensington, 2023-08-16)

#234

I've been supporting this vendor Quinton for years. My family enjoy outings to go buy their treats , their service is always on point, friendly staff and we really miss having them around.

Anastacia Haddon (Cape Town, 2023-08-16)

#239

Because this small businesses has become an institution at Muizenberg beach front . Not only are the pancake owners securing an income for themselves, but they have also created job opportunities for their dedicated staff member. I stay in Strand, close to the Strand beach front, but don't mind driving to Muizenberg, just to enjoy The Pancake's delicious offerings, but also the warm service I get from the owner Quinton, and his ever reliable lady (her name evades me, always top notched service with a smile), I fully support the renewal of their permit.

Shane Jacobs (Somerset West, 2023-08-16)

Would like to see this popular establishment available.

Elizabeth Wood (Muizenberg, 2023-08-17)

#247

This is the best coffee in Cape Town!
What is the reason for non-renewal? When Starbucks opened there was an outcry about supporting local businesses, and this was smoothed over and dismissed - yet now local businesses are squeezed out?

Stuart Woods (Marina Da Gama, 2023-08-17)

#248

This is an integral part of the touristic attractions in Muizenberg

Ridwan Wagiet (Cape Town, 2023-09-06)

Quiton offers an excellent service, always friendly and easy to chat with, haven't seen him in a while but i will be really disappointed if his permit is not approved.

#331

Quintons pancake stand should be allowed to run his business as he is a family man and a bread winner.

Tracy-Leigh Diedericks (Cape Town, 2023-10-22)

#332

I understand the position, unfairness and deficit created by a dismissal to trade. We support the business and see no malice by his presence on the muizenberg beachfront. We need representation, not just corporations. Our kids need to see how starting small grows into bigger things. I'm severely disappointed.

Elmethra De Bruyn (Cape Town, 2023-10-22)

#333

#347

Please renew this business' permit to trade and at least provide this man with a proper explanation on why his permit was not approved in the first place, so he can be made aware of how he can improve his application. HELP OUR SMALL BUSINESSES TO GROW, DONT DESTROY THEM! For some families this is all income they have!!

Gabi V (Pretoria, 2023-10-22)

#351

I feel it is so unfair that "coloureds" are still being marginalised after 3 decades of democracy! This is an honest man trying to earn a living. And you won't renew his permit? Shame on you!! It's time for change. Enough is enough!! I'll be sure to vote wisely next year.
