Stop the quarry at Wreck Cove

Quarries are hideous and Smokey is beautiful. Unless there is a benefit for the entire community North of Smokey and the surrounding area, I say Nay.

The fact that is only .01 hectares under the size says to me that someone is trying to get around the rules and has no concern about the quality of life for the people who live in the area. We definitely do not need more large trucks going back and forth.

I don't agree that a corporation should benefit from abuse of the local environment. The environment costs are never born by the corporation profiting from the land destruction.

The environment shouldn’t be disrupted

A quarry under environmental assessment criteria in the area is totally unacceptable
Quarries grow once started and that will be a scar on the environment.

Suspect this quarry is proposed mostly to supply aggregate to reinforce the Wreck Cove dam refurbishment. If it is deemed a necessity by government it should be opened only far back from any public view.

A quarry at the foot of Cape Smokey would destroy one of the most iconic views on the Cabot Trail. Trucks entering and leaving the Cabot Trail at this site would be a safety hazard to other traffic. Please do not allow this project to go ahead!

My brother has a home in Ingonish and my wife and I are frequent visitors. We do outdoor activities on land and on the water in all seasons. We want to protect the landforms and the natural ecology of the Cape Smokey region!

I feel this project would harm the environment and certainly take away from the beauty of this area. Please
reconsider.

The Cabot Trail is a world renowned scenic drive surrounded by sea, sky & wildlife. It is an experience to be enjoyed by all in its complete beauty.

I care about and love this Island. It is my home and I do not want to see anyone or any company violate it's natural beauty nor the wildlife that choose to survive here. I can hear the comments now, from all over the world, wondering how the citizens of Cape Breton along with it's leaders allowed this to happen. And of course we all know they will talk. Not very good for tourism. Do not let this area of our environment be negatively impacted due to someone's greed for money. I will never in my life understand the destruction of Dominion Beach. All because people did not care. Let's not let this happen in Wreck Cove..

There are already areas available that can be used . This makes no sense on any level.
