SAB advocates against tie desolvation with UNEA

we, as members of the 2018-19 seattle public schools student advisory board, wish to express our displeasure with the unjust eviction of the UNEA from seattle public schools property, and to demand that they be reinstated.

going back on a verbal contract between native peoples and the government is a deplorable action that calls back to the broken treaties of the 1800s, and brings up immense historical trauma having to do with displacement from rightful lands.

as the UNEA is such a valuable and culturally relevant resource for our native students, the decision to sever ties is a direct attempt at cultural cleansing, which we as students and advocates stand united against.
