Richárd Kovács, our professional athlete and Olympic scorer boxer, also receives a monetary reward equivalent to the bronze medal, as the Hungarian Boxing Association also awarded to Luca Hámori!
Both Richárd and Luca scored points at this year's Paris Olympics in 2024, and the Olympics ended in 5th place for them.
However, Luca Hámori was awarded the bronze medal by the Hungarian Boxing Association.
We, on the other hand, think that if fair play is important to the Hungarian Boxing Association, then not only Luca, but also Richárd will receive the monetary supplement for scoring points, which is the same amount as the honorarium for the bronze medal, i.e. HUF 31,350,000.
In addition, Richárd is a conscientious teacher of history and physical education, as well as a husband and the father of a wonderful young child!
However, for Richárd Kovács, this entailed quite a bit of resignation.
And all of this was stated by Richárd on his Facebook page, which I am publishing without any changes.
"This year, I bet my whole life on the Olympics, to represent my nation and the Hungarian Boxing Association, as I have carried the results of the home boxing on my back for years!
- I left my job there!
- I haven't seen my child for months!
- In March, I brought home an EC bronze medal before the Olympics!
And now I received that I ONLY won one match at the Olympics, so I am not affected by this initiative! (I beat an Olympic bronze medalist, as this is common here in boxing!)
I don't care about money, never have!
But, injustice does!
Thank you, Hungary, for standing and standing by me!
I will inform everyone about the continuation of my career!"
