RESURFACING OF CONCESSION ROAD 3, ADJALA-TOSORONTIO
Dear neighbors of Concession Road 3, I am in the process to present a request to our Township of Adjala-Tosorontio via Deputation of Council in order to resurface our Concession making it cleaner and safer for all of us to travel on, including vehicles such as school buses carrying your children. As some are concerned with increased occurences of speeding, I would state the fact that there are already many vehicles speeding on this road which in fact is much more dangerous on this type of road due to controlability issues. Another alternative would be installing speed bumps (otherwise known as sleeping policemen).
Please note all household members can sign, provided they are over 16
If you have any questions or concerns to the contrary, I will be more than happy to address them. Please feel free to contact me at pkudlowsky@me.com or 416-616-3321.
TOWNSHIP OF ADJALA-TOSORONTIO
We the residents of Concession Road 3 south of County Road 1 in the township of Adjala-Tosorontio formally and respectfully ask you to accept this request and direct it to the appropriate person/s. We ask the Township to consider paving our road as we are one of the few in our area that remain unpaved. We are confident the Township is well aware of the benefits of paved roads vs gravel, however, we ask you to accept our comments and concerns.
First and foremost are safety related concerns. During wet conditions our road becomes quite "sloppy" making it very slippery. Controllability issues have caused at least 3 vehicles lose control and end up in the ditch (one of them being a school bus). Wash-boarding is also a common occurrence, especially on the softer outer edges of the road. This promotes drivers to migrate towards the centre of the road on blind hills, which poses a risk of potential head on collisions. Vehicles travelling on our road simply do not have the same control or stopping ability. Other issues include increased vehicle wear, including brake wear from road dust, paint chips and frequent air filter replacements. Dust clouds float to our homes making it difficult to keep windows clean. The mud tracks down our newly paved driveways making them difficult to keep clean. Although there are upfront costs in paving, this would ultimately save tax dollars through reduced maintenance costs.
We are hopeful our township will consider our plea in knowing we deserve the same quality of road as our neighbouring taxpayers.
Should the township decide paving is not currently in the budget, we are hopeful you would at the very least consider alternate (cheaper) means such as "tar and chip" or "chip seal".
Respectfully
