Petition to Address Gym Equipment Maintenance and Space Concerns at Emaar Palm Heights
Dear Building Manager,
We, the undersigned residents of Emaar Palm Heights, are writing to formally request the urgent improvement of the gym facilities. With the increasing number of residents following the introduction of new towers, the gym no longer meets the community’s needs. Moreover, the current equipment is outdated, some of it is non-functional, and there is a lack of proper hygiene measures.
Here are the specific issues we would like to highlight:
-
Inadequate Space: The gym has become too small to accommodate the growing number of residents, resulting in overcrowding, which limits access to equipment and diminishes the overall experience.
-
Outdated and Missing Equipment: Much of the equipment is old and not functioning properly. Additionally, the gym lacks essential equipment, including:
- Smith Machine Rack (an important piece of equipment for safe barbell exercises).
- Leg exercise bench (for exercises such as hip thrusts with a barbell).
- Limited dumbbells (currently, there is a shortage of options for strength training).
- Resistance bands (missing altogether, which are important for mobility, strength, and rehabilitation exercises).
- Skipping ropes (basic equipment for cardiovascular fitness).
- Proper yoga mat storage (to allow yoga mats to be properly hung and organized after use). Curretly the matts are just lying on the floor.
- Foam rollers and ropes (which are key for flexibility, stretching, and injury prevention).
- Rowing machine (a vital piece of cardiovascular equipment).
- Leg machines (to ensure a full range of strength training options for lower body workouts).
-
Hygiene Concerns: There is no proper system in place to maintain hygiene in the gym. We recommend:
- Installing sanitizer stations and providing tissues for cleaning equipment after use.
- Clear instructions or signage reminding users to wipe down equipment after each use.
- Regular restocking of these hygiene supplies to ensure cleanliness.
- Additionally, there is no water tank, which is a basic necessity in any gym.
Given these concerns, we kindly request that the following actions be taken:
- Replace or repair old equipment that is no longer functional or safe to use.
- Expand the gym space to accommodate the increased number of residents and reduce overcrowding.
- Introduce missing equipment, such as a Smith machine, more dumbbells, skipping ropes, rowing machines, and leg machines, to provide a comprehensive workout experience.
- Improve hygiene measures by providing sanitizer bottles, tissues, and proper instructions for equipment use and cleanliness.
- Install a water tank to ensure that residents have access to drinking water while working out.
These changes will greatly enhance the safety, usability, and overall enjoyment and experience of the gym for all residents.
We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. Below are the signatures of residents who support this petition and share these concerns.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sumit Sharma resident of E 201
