Petition Governor McMaster to remove Sheila Baccus from Darlington City Council

Councilwoman Shelia Baccus has failed to uphold the special trust and
confidence vested in her by the citizens of Darlington City, AND has
failed to demonstrate fundamental qualities of leadership in that leaders
are to 'set the example' and 'take responsibility for their actions'. The
events surrounding councilwoman Baccus' interaction with Officer Paul
Bryant on 6/17/20 and her actions at the Darlington County Council
meeting on 7/21/20 unambiguously demonstrate the following points of
grave concern:
• Racially demeaning statements made to Officer Bryant • Disregard for
the rule of law • Disrespect for a law enforcement officer and fellow
public servant • Refusal to acknowledge wrongdoing and accept
responsibility for her actions and attitude.
Failure to act in a swift and decisive manner will only encourage further
actions of a similar nature and irreparably damage the fabric of our
community. Please do not allow this to happen
