Because I and others are fed up with our parish council making decisions for villagers with no consultation or consideration of the people who live here

I grew up in the village my family are still there now and most have been their whole lives. Some people may think it's only a bench...but it's been there forever. And as a family friend said every village needs it's bench...so please bring it back.

Waiting until you were a teenager to be cool enough to chill out at the bench was a right of passage growing up. You have now taken away something nostalgic #bringbackthebench #villagerproblems

A bench seat in the centre of a village might be a small thing but taken with all the other things that have gone ie shop , post office.,
Proper bus service. It makes one wonder where will it all end.

I am appalled that the members of the village was not contacted with regards to the removal of the bench. This has been a memorable landmark for those that have grown up in the village. It may only be 'just a bench' but if you didnt grow up here you wouldn't understand. It was a meeting point for friends after school, a meeting point to meet your parents after school, even a meeting point for a child hood love. Everything else we couldn't have a say about has been taken away. I have grown up here and would like something left to show my children about my childhood.

I do feel very sad the parish council feel the need to remove or replace such a very important village mark.

There  is a very simple solution to the problem, parish council please return the bench to its original position and put the planter on the green as well. The bench attracts may people young. The planter will add to to the village green, everybody would be happy then.

The parish council get their flower bed and the villagers get their bench back.

I was scheme manager at Meadowlands when the bench was placed. This is a memorial to a lovely man who lived in the village and should be left alone.

Harrowden is/was a lovely village. It does not need people who don't understand our ways of life to interfere in the uniqueness of our village.

villagers should have a say in what changes are made here not one or two voices doing what they see fit. That seat was gifted to the village from a well known villager .GIFTED means everyone's property so everyone should be consulted

The bench was put there for a purpose for all to share while out for a walk and in the memory Hugh Jock Kerr, who ran Little Harrowden Post Office for many years.

Disgraceful decision by the parish council to remove the bench .
Hats off to Michelle and her supporters for doing something about it. Proud of you

I was born here and raised here I have never lived anywhere else and now I can't ever imagine living anywhere else this community has built something that is more than neighbors or saying hello when you see them in the street it has built friendship and family members for life you may have taken the bench out of the village but you haven't taken the village out the bench

I grew up in westfields, that seat used to be a meeting place for all us teenagers, it was a memory seat for alot of people in the past an now the future, it should be put back as its part of Harrowden.

We want this bench put back where it belongs! If, as we have been told, it has been removed to be renovated, it should now be returned to its rightful place.

Couldnt the planter be left and the bench returned together with another bench. With spring just around the corner it would be the ideal place to sit and enjoy the village after a stroll in the park and a pint in the club. Maybe if there is money available a litter bin could also be sited nearby.
