I was born in Greenfield Park, Mother was born in Greenfield Park. My father gave his life preventing a bank robbery in Greenfield Park, My father had his name place on a street in Greenfield Park. My Grandfather David Boyd also had his name on a Greenfield Park St. Show some respect for the history of this wonderful town I called my home.

I grew up in the Park and although I no longer live there I have many friends who do. I am grateful to all those Parkers who still live there who are willing to fight city hall. The least I can do is show my support in solidarity with my friends and sign this petition. Hang tough folks you guys ROCK !! Bernie Meehan expat :)

My home town of Greenfield Park is a big part of who I am. I am not from Longueil. I am from the Park and believe that it should always bear it's name. Not the one forced upon it.

Longueuil, to me, was the Terminus where the city bus let me off at the metro when I went into Montreal. The home from which I traveled TO Longueuil was in Greenfield Park. Just because there has been a political/management merger, why obliterate the local identity and "flavor" of the towns that make up the merged Longueuil? People who live in New York City will not tell you they live in NYC - they live in the Bronx, or Long Island, or Manhattan, or Queens, which are all VERY different areas with their own "culture". The sign as you enter Queens says "Welcome to Queens - The World's Borough" - It lists Bill DeBlasio as mayor, and the name of the current borough president - what it DOESN'T say is "Welcome to New York City". I encourage the Leadership of Longueuil to exercise their collective imaginations in order to similarly actively-preserve the individual identities and local "cultures" of the merged communities.

Just like the city of Montreal whose boroughs have kept their names and identities, St.Hubert, Greenfield Park and all the other boroughs should be allowed to do the same while still being part of Metropolitan Longueuil.

I believe that we should honour our heritage, by not removing the name of St. Hubert Plus when it was decided that we would get together with Longueuil, I believe we were told that we would retain all of our community decisions and by-laws to date of the agreement. Well I believe that the retention of St. Hubert would be part of our by-laws.

I'm from Saint-Hubert and this is not a big deal. Longueuil is okay... at least this name came from our history.
