#1 Stop bird slaughter in Cyprus2010-09-13 08:50This, of course, is a major problem which affects the whole of the divided island of Cyprus, which is not mentioned in the text. Birds and animals don't recognise borders! The needless carnage and destruction of all wildlife on both the Greek and Turkish sides of the divide are equally as devastating and continues to increase annually. 'If it moves, kill it in the name of sport!' has been the Cypriots' unsaid motto for far too long. As a nation, whether Greek or Turk, their deserved reputation of the treatment of all animals and birds, whether wild or domestic, is absolutely appalling - quite sickening to any decent human being. |
