Allow Babagatto to stay in Morrison Square until Autumn 2025
We urgently ask ACC to allow Babagatto Italian Restaurant in Nelson to stay in Morrison Square until Autumn 2025.
Babagatto's engineer's report shows that the restaurant's building is safe and watertight. The report shows that the cladding system of Babagatto's building is not the same as the rest of the Morrison Square complex, so is not a leaky building. It is safe to operate.
Babagatto has bookings right into the middle of 2025 and its owners need time to find another suitable location in the city, so that the business can keep operating.
Please let Babagatto stay while they look for a suitable location, so they can continue to add vibrancy and life to the city centre.
