Allow Alberta Tattoo Shops to Open

I am the owner of a tattoo studio in Lacombe, Alberta. I am petitioning you get our studios open at the same time as hairstylists and Barber shops based on my knowledge of my studio and the safety protocols we ALREADY have in place to protect our clients from cross contamination and blood borne diseases. We are required by the province to undergo specific training in this area, due to the nature of our work. We are required to have adequate insurance for this type of work. I am utterly appalled that a hair studio can open before us, considering they have minimal and basic safety protocols at best. Ever had your hair combed in a salon? Did they clean that tool before placing it in disinfectant? No. Something can not be disinfected if it has not been cleaned. This goes for Esthetics also, their tools are either disposable or cleaned between each client. Please sign this petition and get our studios and salons open again. I know from my own circumstances that I cannot be shut down for any longer. I am in the Central zone with no cases in my community for WEEKS. I have been in the personal service industry for over 20 years and educated on these very subjects for the last 7 years. PERSONAL SERVICE INCLUDES TATTOOING, NAILS, LASHES, TANNING, MASSAGE, REFLEXOLOGY, PEDICURES, PERMANENT MAKE UP, MICROBLADING, PIERCING, ETC
