Bill 25-23, "Funeral Establishments & Crematoriums," was introduced by Baltimore County Council on Monday, April 3, 2023. This will will mandate a 500 feet buffer between the new construction of any crematorium and residential property in Baltimore County, and would take effect May 1, 2023. 

This Bill is expected to receive great opposition in an attempt to "kill the Bill."

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Bill 25-23 will be discussed and debated at the Baltimore County Council Work Session on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 beginning @ 4 pm. We expect Evans Funeral Home to present "expert testimony" stating that it's safe to operate a crematory on the property at 11543 Philadelphia Rd.

We are prepared to present our opposition by demonstrating the lack of data/evidence to support their claim. We need you to do one of three things:

1. Attend the County Council Work Session in person and speak in favor of Bill 25-23.

2. Virtually attend the County Council Work Session and speak in favor of Bill 25-23

3. Send an email in support of Bill 25-23 to countycouncil@baltimorecountymd.gov  He sure to include the reason why you support the Bill, or the reason you oppose the construction of the crematorium in a residential area.
