Otahuhu Town Hall under attack again in the new Budget
2023-03-25 10:03:13Mayor Wayne Brown is cutting funding to all the Local Boards to try and fix the financial mess the Auckland Council is in. Mangere Otahuhu Local Boqrd will get $1.2 million less funding, more than any other Local Board.
They propose closing some facilities to save money on their operating costs and the Otahuhu Town Hall Community Centre is on the list.
They also propose charging community groups higher fees for using council facilities, which is another way to get rid of the groups so they can sell off the buildings.
You can help by Having Your Say and letting the Council know how important affordable community facilities are for the Otahuhu community.
You can go online, download the form and scan and email or fill in a form at the library.
The consultation period for the Budget ends at 11 pm Tuesday.
Please help to save (once again) the Otahuhu Town Hall Community facilities.Thank you
