This is not fair treatment. Grapevine Colleyville ISD needs to work on becoming a more diverse environment that is inclusive to all.

R Glenn (Euless, 2021-08-31)

#1604

This issue is a test for the leadership in our school district and with placing Dr. Whitfield on leave, the Superintendent has failed. His failure to support his staff on this matter is an indication that he needs to resign. I stand with Dr. Whitfield.

Rick Gambrell (Grapevine, 2021-08-31)

#1606

Clearly the smear campaign against Dr. Whitfield is unjustified. Restoring him to his position is only the right thing to do.

Dr. Leslie Miner (Grapevine, 2021-08-31)

#1608

It is just wrong that this man is suspended. He did absolutely nothing. He is a wonderful principal

Heidi Westerfeld (Lewisville, 2021-08-31)

#1609

I'm signing for the same reason everyone is signing. Dr. Whitfield to sue the hell out of each board member, the district and those accusers that hates a black man being married to a white woman and for slander without proof.

Rachel Davis (Tyler, 2021-08-31)

#1614

As an alumna of CHHS and GCISD I am embarrassed that Dr. Whitfield is facing such immense discrimination. History will remember this.

Kelcey Drapp (Lewisville, 2021-08-31)

#1616

Dr. Whitfield is an amazing principle and puts the education and the students first. My grandkids attended Heritage Middle while he was the principle and now CHHS where he is principle and I have seen him attend multiple sporting events cheering on the teams, greeting students at the front door of the school each morning, always friendly and welcoming to the parents, interested in all aspects of education and school functions! Kids, parents and teachers love him and support him.

Kathryn Calkins (Grapevine, 2021-08-31)

#1619

I am very disturbed that you would suspend the principal under these circumstances. The accusations are baseless and disgusting.

David Stanaway (Flower mound, 2021-08-31)

#1622

I am signing this because I truly believe Dr Whitfield is an amazing principal and only wants the best for the students. You are doing the school district, the students, and the high school a disservice by taking his job away from him.

Jamie Ellis (Grapevine, 2021-08-31)

#1630

We live in a ridiculously racist part of the country.

Liz Tobias (Flower mound, 2021-09-01)

#1633

I'm signing because the board members are cowards and don't have the best interests of the staff. They won't tell parents to shove it when it matters and are too afraid to offend a parent. You'll never hear them say if you don't like it take your student elsewhere.

Nicholas Wolfwood (Watauga, 2021-09-01)

#1635

I know Mr. Whitfield and have known him since high school. He has always been inclusive of any one that he comes in contact with. Through the years I have witnessed him grow into a strong and caring educator through his Facebook posts. He has the same positive energy he had in school and creates an environment that generates that positivity with any one he comes in contact with.

Leta Holohan (Fort Worth, 2021-09-01)

#1636

Mr. Whitfield cares about the students and has an impact on the majority. It’s a shame he’s being pulled through the mud due to those not liking him. It’s evident that words can truly hurt someone’s career!

Armelinda Torres (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-01)

#1637

I’m signing this because James Whitfield is a Godly example of a man and administrator that we should all hope to set an example for our children.

Jessica Carroll (Midland, 2021-09-01)

#1639

I believe in him

Alexis Poole (Dallas, 2021-09-01)

#1640

Dr. Whitfield is an excellent Administrator, a great public example, a wonderful family man and an outstanding citizen. His professional record speaks volumes. I stand with Dr. Whitfield because he has done nothing wrong. He continues to be am example showing grace and faith thru this unnecessary situation.

Monica Wallace (Fort Worth, 2021-09-01)

#1641

DrW deserves to be heard! This is a racist witch hunt #bringourprincipalback

Joy Turner (Arlington, 2021-09-01)

#1642

I am a former student. Anyone would be LUCKY to have Dr. Whitfield. You should be ashamed you allowed mr. clark to continue to be in that room and speak out against someone that cares so much for his school.

Rebekah Mathis (North Richland hills, 2021-09-01)

#1643

He is a great leader!

Stephanie Sugg (Arlington, 2021-09-01)

#1645

I personally know and have worked with Dr. Whitfield

Kathryn McGuire (N Richland Hills, 2021-09-01)

#1647

There is absolutely no reason for him to be on administrative leave nor his character and integrity be questioned. He is a phenomenal leader who deserves more respect. He always makes his students and staff feel included and loved. GCISD should be ashamed of themselves.

Sarah Nunn (Dallas, 2021-09-01)

#1648

Superintendent needs to resign as not having the leadership to resolve this ridiculous issue.

Milton Day (Grapeville, 2021-09-01)

#1654

I’m signing because Dr. Whitfield has done no wrong, and is being punished for speaking out against Blasphemy. I’m signing because educators such as Dr Whitfield are who I want in the classroom teaching my children. I’m signing because it’s about damn time we see justice for someone who’s given their heart and soul to helping others, and who selflessly uplifts everyone he comes in contact with. #Istandwithdrwhitfield

Krista Bowman (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-01)

#1664

I’m signing because I fully support Dr Whitfield and placing him on administrative leave is not warranted.

Stephanie Phillips (Colleyville, 2021-09-01)

#1665

I worked with him in a different school district and found him to be an impressive person of strong character and a positive advocate for students and staff.

Lyn Neisius (Colleyville, 2021-09-01)

#1670

Dr. James Whitfield is a man of integrity, morals, and so much more. He has brought joy to every school that has been able to have him. This is a disgrace.

Allison Evans (Euless, 2021-09-01)

#1671

I may not agree with with all of Dr. Whitfield's political opinions, but that is irrelevant: Dr. Whitfield has committed no misconduct, and as a CHHS, HMS, and Bear Creek alumnus, this specious action against him is deeply embarrassing and raises uncomfortable questions about the motivations of those who would see him driven out. Reinstate him immediately, or I may have to question my defense of my hometown when people from coastal states assume that it must be a bigoted place.

Daniel Virtheim (Stanford, CA, 2021-09-01)

#1679

I worked under Dr Whitfield at RMS, he is a competent, professional, and outstanding leader. He deserves so so much better than this.

Jessica Taylor Stubblefield (Fort worth, 2021-09-01)

#1685

We believe in Dr. Whitfield and his leadership! Drese Family

Roxanne Drese (Colleyville, 2021-09-01)

#1687

I’m signing this petition because I stand tall and proud for Dr. James Whitfield. In these trying times, it should not be a crime to invite our students and teachers to learn about culturally sensitive information for a more inclusive atmosphere. We have to be better! We must do better!

Talitha Alexander (Houston, 2021-09-01)

#1690

The fact that we have to sign these things to point out the blatant racism here is insane. Obviously Dr. Whitfield should never have been subject to this and any board members not fully supporting Dr. Whitfield and his contract need to resign immediately.

Bryan Stewart (Grapevine, 2021-09-01)

#1691

I have known this man for 15 years. First as a coach and history teacher, then as an AP. There isn't a more empathetic, sympathetic person that I know and you, GCISD should be embarrassed.

shana james (Watauga, 2021-09-01)

#1692

I stand for what’s right and what’s fair.

Sharon Mayberry (Itasca, 2021-09-01)

#1693

I support Dr. Whitfield and his positive leadership of our students. I have no idea why someone would be against him and GCISD will not spell out what he has done wrong to cause this suspension. I understand that this is a personnel matter but it is with our principal and we have a right to know about the allegations.

Chris Enright (Grapevine, 2021-09-01)

#1698

He is an exceptional human being, leader, administrator, and selfless soul who loves his family, community, students, and above all God !!!!! What is happening to him is NOT OK !!!!!!!!!!! He is genuine and has the biggest heart !!!! He cares deeply for students and their education and should not be punished for whom he loves. He and his wife have a Cinderella love story and should be able to live their life in happiness just like the corrupt and bigoted people do. No one should them condemn for loving each other for who they are and not by the color of their skin. What they share is simply beautiful.

Chasity Hinson (Fort Worth, 2021-09-01)

#1699

Frankly as a former student at colleyville heritage high school I find it irresponsible to not teach the students that much of history is impacted by race and background. It is incredibly ignorant to think that culture and background does not affect every part of a person's life and all subjects of education. The Principal is only accused of teaching crital race theory and they suspend him. Racism is engrained in foundations of the United States and people have fought for hundreds of years for simple liberties that are constantly threatened. To ignore America's painful past and not learn from it; how are we to improve? This is a form of oppression from a government institution that further proves this theory... so I recommend you take a look at what you are doing and ask yourself if it is not racist?

Aubrey Busey (Colleyville, 2021-09-01)

I believe in equality and diversity is very important in our education system

Nam Nguyen (Colleyville, 2021-09-01)

I’m signing this because being a former student and a coworker he is one of the most encouraging person and leader that I’ve ever met.

#1708

He’s the best boss I’ve ever had!

Laura Hunt (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-01)

#1710

I have taken workshops with this educator and he is nothing but deserving of respect from the education system.
To accuse him of anything other than doing what is best for kids at all times, shows ignorance.
Do all the investigating you want…and when you find he has done absolutely nothing wrong we expect the entire school board and superintendent to make public apologies!

Rachel Elder (Burleson, 2021-09-01)

#1711

When I read this controversy over Dr. James Whitfield, I couldn’t help to think, another knock to our society. He was hired this man for this position, you know his story, it’s movie like, amazing! A kid with all the odds against him, yet over comes his obstacles and becomes more than probably he dreamed of! This isn’t a gender, race, religion, or whatever it is we decide to focus on at this moment of time, this is strictly a person who has shown don’t let life’s battles break you, WIN THE WAR! Appreciate these kind of people, because these are the ones who need no recognition, they have one goal and one goal only, help those who are in need! What is it with this “build up to tear down” mentality we carry. When you find an amazing person, who has proven their self to our education system, our community and most importantly, to our children. Why must we dig, why must we be a society of hurt feelings? When this is all said and done, There’s one thing you can bet will come out of this, this is not a system “of what’s best”, this is a system “of what’s next”! What’s next to throw a fit about, be offended or allow another opportunity to display the selfishness and entitlement of “my opinion is the only one that matters”! Fix this! Make it right! This is not how you get things done, you have only displayed what’s wrong with our system, and not how we handle what is wrong with our system! GRAPEVINE! TARRANT! TEXAS! Make this right! We have too few GREAT LEADERS in our school systems, you can’t nitpick and destroy the ones that are left! We honestly can’t afford that!

Adam Thompson (Fort Worth, 2021-09-01)

#1719

I’m signing this because I believe there is no room for racism in this country. I believe that it is a time for change. I believe that you can love your country and also expect the best of it.

I live in North Richland Hills, but work in Flower Mound and spend a good amount of my time in Grapevine and Colleyville. My son is in public school. I watched the video of the school board meeting where CRT was not on the agenda and a small group acted in a mob mentality. It was horrifying. CRT is not a part of the current curriculum and attempts here are against diversity and black leadership. Please help stand for what is right for our kids.

Cherie Gordon (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-01)

#1725

Dr. Whitfield is not receiving adequate support from GCISD. To frame him (Dr Whitfield) in any sort of negative light is embarrassing and sad. James is a wonderful Principal and an even better human being.

Neal Williams (Colleyville, 2021-09-01)

#1726

Rain or shine on most days he was greeting his students with a smile on his face and shaking there hand as they walk into school. His vision is for all students to know that no matter how taught things gets, he’s there to help.

Sounds like racism is still alive and well in the Colleyville-Southlake-Grapevine area. Board members who are not supporting Dr. Whitfield need to step down immediately.

Natalie Lammers (Dallas, 2021-09-02)

#1769

I'm tired of seeing the school administration of my old district cave in to a vocal minority of local residents who want to spread misinformation about district employees. These are not people who want to make the district better. They only want in on the school board to spread an agenda.

William Szendrey (Grapevine, 2021-09-02)

#1770

This is clear racism that is regularly tolerated throughout this country. It won't stop till we all keep standing up at every injustice. Dr.Whitfield and his wife deserve justice. AND they deserve to share their love with their friends and family, just like the rest of us FREE Americans.

Angela Aden (Elgin, 2021-09-02)

#1771

As a product of GCISD schools (4th through 12th grade) I am disgusted, but not at all surprised, by the district’s action against Dr. Whitfield. “Critical Race Theory” is not at all a threat to America’s values but rather serves to challenge students and educators to live up to the promise of the nation as outlined by the Declaration of Independence. If you are so threatened by the idea of students learning a more accurate version of US history, ask yourself how you would like Germany to teach WWII, or Japan to teach the occupation of Korea. Shame on the school board, and shame on everyone who stands in the way of students learning from the past mistakes of this country.

Boka Agboje (Oakland, 2021-09-02)

#1772

I am embarrassed by GCISD. Dr. While I taught at Heritage MS, Dr. Whitfield was by far the best administrator we had at that school. One of the reasons I left GCISD was because upper administration and the board did not truly support teachers and staff. It is sad that the school district is placing a staff member on leave due to obviously racists parents. This school district is being controlled by a handful of racists parents and I am embarrassed that I ever worked in the district. GCISD is not ‘The Best’ and never will be due to upper administration and the school board not being willing to stand up to what is right.

Kimberly Beene (Carrollton, 2021-09-02)

I have known this man and his family for 18-20 years. I know his morals behind the scene. As a biracial man, he is a fine representative to young people. He has the best of intentions and loves the Lord. A perfect example to youth!

Sadie Leann Lanier (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-02)

#1774

This is racist bullshit. I am ashamed of the continued racism in Texas. I am not at all surprised that this is happening in Colleyville. It is an affluent suburb of DFW, right next to Southlake (another affluent suburb) which has a documented virulent racism problem both in an out of the school system. You think your money can hide your immoral behavior, but WE SEE YOU.

Sarah Brady (Frisco, 2021-09-02)

Growing up in the GCISD district this is EXACTLY why I would never allow my children to go to any of these schools. A bunch of rich, privileged women who have nothing better to do than stir up DRAMA. That is all this is. It’s so sad
